So being in the cosplay community, most of us strive to keep our young and fresh looks. I noticed that at 20 I'm already aging too much for my liking: Numerous and noticeable under eye lines and nasolabial folds forming.

I don't smoke, I don't drink, I only drink water and I try to keep my diet clean, but money has been a problem lately. I gently wash and moisturize every night. I'm even enjoying a sheet mask as I type.

You ladies have helped me so much before with makeup and hair tips; please share your anti-aging tips, if you have any.

Maybe it's genetic.
Maybe the fact is that a lot of 20 year olds start to get fine lines underneath their eyes at this age.
If it bothers you then get fillers, or photoshop the shit out of yourself like the majority of people do.

Moisturize your face with a non comedogenic creme like CeraVe. Your under eye area is extremely fragile, so when you're removing eye make up pay close attention to it and try to be extra gentle. Take a multivitamin for women / take vitamin E. Drink TONS of water and eat well and exercise regularly ... I use Missah's BB cream to and it's awesome. I do all these things and the other day when I went to get a replacement ID, the lady helping me asked if I was 16 yet ... I'm 20.

>> No.6596721

My biggest anti-aging help is having super oily skin. I look like a grease ball if I don't blot frequently, but I read that it's keeps away the wrinkles longer.

But even still, I use anti-aging night cream and eye cream with retinol in it, and a day cream with SPF. Using Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Night Cream right now and ROC Retinol Correxion eye cream, but might switch when I run out. Not sure yet.
In your 20's is the perfect time to start using anti-aging cream.

I suggest not stressing over it too much. You seem to be doing all the right things. Whenever I tell people that's I'm 25 they are always floored and its only within the past year or so have I actually started to take care of my skin. I have lines under my eyes as well and I'm not sure what I can do about them other then try to cover them with make up because that just don't work (and brings more focus to them anyway.)

The #1 cause of aging, other than aging itself, is sun exposure. This especially goes for caucasians since we don't have much melanin in our skin to protect us from it. Be sure to use a sunblock with UVA protection with at least SPF 50 every time you go outdoors and reapply every 2 hours.

Other than that, you should do the following:

*moisturize daily with a moisturizer that contains vitamins A, C and E. Topical absorption of these vitamins helps prevent sunspot, makes skin softer, and helps prevent wrinkles. Moisture also hydrates skin and makes it appear more youthful. Moisturize twice a day: when you get up in the morning and after you take a shower when your natural oils have been stripped.

*Use a derma roller daily. A small medical device that you roll over your skin which punctures microscopic holes in your skin and promotes natural collagen production. Collagen is what gives skin its youth and elasticity.

*Change your diet to eat healthy. Foods rich in antioxidants such as green tea, walnuts, brightly colored fruits, and green vegetables help free radicals in your blood and reduce the signs of aging. Avoid foods rich in saturated fats. Also drink lots of water.

All of this should be done with discipline as any appreciable effects won't happen without a long-term basis. Retaining youth is possible with skill and care. Pic related. This woman leads a lifestyle doing all of the above and she is 43 years old.

La Mer products are pretty glorious when it comes to their anti aging effects. Limit sun exposure to a minimum, just enough really to process your vitamin D.

Also, drink green and white teas, and eat your fruits and veggies! Exercise and get good sleep. Other than that, it really all comes down to genetics.

I really like the Clinique Repairwear Lazer Focus. If you go to the counter right now they are giving two 2week supplies per person if you want to try it, and it's gentle enough to go around your eyes. It has no SPF, but targets UV damage.

Also I don't know if you're a counter makeup kind of girl, but they also have different targeted creams at Clinique that are VERY effective. They cost about the same as Aveno too.

You should also use a different moisturizer for day as well as night. Your day should be light and your day needs to be VERY nourishing.

BTW I am not a clinique sales person, it's just the cheapest thing that works for me, I look to be 19 or so and I am 27.

Get a fuck ton of sleep. Seriously, it works miracles just getting lots of rest. I try to stay stress free, and I find that sex helps a lot. There's actually a lot of benefits to it, look it up. I get carded for buying spray paint, and while I was in college, I had a few people not wanting to give me an application just because they thought I looked too young to legally work. Don't you guys just think that maybe people are shit at guessing ages?

There are more people that look young for their age than people who look old for their age. That's at least based on where I have lived in the past 10 years, including the countryside and a fairly big city.

The fact that I don't have smooth lids is also a factor in this too, and my arched eyes.

Hmm, maybe try using different types of liner? When I use liquid liner, I don't have to pull on my eyelids. I just have to be very careful about it. I find I'm raising my eyebrows in place of pulling on my eyes, though.

Your arched eyes probably are a factor. The only think I can think of that would cause those wrinkles is pulling on your eyes OR perhaps the way you sleep. If you sleep with your face squished on the bed/pillow, it can probably cause some wrinkles over time.

Bubz actually has an old video on this (check her YT channel, not her website, BubzBeauty) and it's basically either from a lack of iron (take an iron supplement if you can't get enough in your diet for whatever reason) or from retaining fluids in your nasal passages. Most people press something cold against them, but how effective that is can vary. It can also be genetic so getting a gould concealer/correcter may be useful.

There's a lot of factors. Sometimes genetics can either help you or fuck you over. But sometimes you can "mess around" and either have genetics not screw you over or screw yourself over.

-Water and maintaining a good diet will be your best friends.
-Sleep is your friend.
-Stay positive. Give yourself a break here and there.
-Don't overdo the drugs and alcohol. Look what it did to Lindsay Lohan and other stars.
-Don't wear make-up all the time. Shit ruins your face if you keep wearing it 24/7. My classmates that wore make-up in middle school now look 40 (and we're all only 21, but I got stuck looking 12).
-

Overall you just need to maintain yourself. Look up "bimajo" and see what they do to stay looking young.

Anyways, just gonna repeat what has been said in the thread, moisturize, sun block and I personally recommend wearing light makeup like powder foundations. Also, if you do use scrubs or skincare products, try and limit their use to only every other day or every 3 days. You want to give your skin a chance to breathe and develop natural oils. I'm also a bigger fan of using those dry scrubs or natural ones than the ones that are mixed in lotions. A personal favourite is either the plain sugar scrub or seasalt ones.

I'm 21, but most people guess my age at around 19-20 which isn't much of a huge a difference.

I take very good care of my skin, don't apply makeup excessively and I drink massive amounts of water daily. I don't smoke, do any illegal drugs or drink to excess (I drink once every two weeks typically, usually 1-2 pints).

I think the way you age is almost heavily exclusive to a genetic predisposition unfortunately. Of course taking good care of your body is always going to factor into things, but I for some of us the situation is hopeless haha

I don't have any wrinkles yet, but I believe this down to the precautions I began taking early on and my extreme sun-avoidance. No wrinkles, but I still look my age. Lame.

Yeah, your eye bags aren't really puffy but more of a discoloration. There's something that starts with "rest" that helps with discoloration. Fat injections could help if you feel like they are discolored and even slightly hollow. A dermatologist might be able to help you.

Thankfully, mine aren't very dark. They're just a little discolored and puffy.

To be honest, I'm content with my face, but I know I would look so much better with my slight asymmetry fixed. I want to photograph the way I see myself in the mirror and such. And no one likes eyebags, so I want to minimize them as much as possible. They're mostly hereditary, so I've had them since childhood and have been wanting surgery for them since I was a young teen. I feel confident walking around normally, because at least my body looks pretty good (and I work to get it that way), but when I'm in the city, I start to feel so sled conscious. "Can you believe it, I was in Waterstones last week looking at the manga and fantasy novels when two generic weeb girls walked in and began discussing Puella Magi Madoka Magica whilst hovering around the manga section.
I got really excited since there is hardly anybody that enjoys manga and anime where I live, so I started trying to initiate a friendly conversation about Madoka. They just laughed awkwardly whilst glancing at each other with a smug expression plastered across their faces.

it that spoony, who is overweight and a preacher of how much of an angel she is to everone, is insulting someone's looks and weights because they didnt feel comfortable to speak to her

so hating on a person's weight only depends on whether they're nice to a random stranger or not? Especially in a hobby where there are a lot of nutjobs and creeps and weirdos that could be approaching them?

to be fair, a fat person is a fat person. whether they're nice or not, if theyre fat because they had shit eating/exercise habits and dont take care of themselves, ill still see them as fat. I certainly wouldnt change my opinion of their weight just because they kissed my ass (or didnt). I think getting enough sleep is more important than the time you hit the sack. If your skin feels dry, try a less harsh facial cleanser. You might be using one for oily akin that's actually drying you out. I have the typical oily t zone and normal cheeks, so I only use soap on my forehead and nose. Around my period, I include my chin. I wash the rest of my face with just water. Every other day, I wash my cheeks with a milder soap.

Obviously remember to moisturize. I use toner on my entire face and then moisturize, but I k ow that sometimes motion doesn't work if you dry out your skin too much. Drugstores usually carry affordable moisturisers; Neutrogena, I've found, tends to lean more towards oil-free ones, so that's better for more oily skin. Aveeno can be really expensive for how little they give you, but a little goes a long way. But everyone's skin reacts differently, so try out a couple to see which ones work best for you.

She's definitely not 21, she's in her mid/late twenties.

Well I often get mistaken for younger, had to show ID to buy freaking energy-drinks (15 is the minimum age for that here) and I'm 19. I think I look my age though.
Must say I'm shitty at taking care of myself, I smoke (working on quitting) and and basically drink no water. Need to start taking care of myself.

Pic with bangs and hair out of face. I think my voice contributes to the fact that people think I'm younger than I am though.

>It's humiliating looking like a child sometimes.

Aren't you the chick who constantly posts photos of her weigh scale and "90 is the new 100" in weightloss threads? If your goal isn't to look frail and childlike I'm not really sure what you're going for.

It is seriously a new craze among girls that for when they take their pictures they raise their eyebrows AS HIGH AS FUCKING POSSIBLE.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT OR WHY ON EARTH THEY MIGHT THINK MMMM FOREHEAD EYEBROWS, BUT THEY DO, THEY ARE EVERYWHERE.

Don't do this.

The girl up top looks like an unevolved form of JNig, obnoxious and vapid but still sweet. I want to punch the girl on the bottom. What are those faces? Why would you actively try to make yourself even less attractive? It's worse than duckface.
Also I automatically assumed the girl on the bottom is a teen mom. That's not an association you'd want people to have with you, right?

I don't know why they do this, but that actually even makes the aging process worse for girls. The amount of make-up they use may be a factor of looking like old hags at their rate, too.

Or since I'm Asian and live in an Asian-dominated neighborhood, I'm used of everyone looking 12 until they hit 30.

Yes! Omg it pisses me off so much. Every time a girl posts a picture of herself on facebook, guarenteed her eyebrows are gonna be raised as high as possible. I dont care though. They are prematurely aging themselves, which they are just too dumb to realize.

You're a cutie.

You do look young though, even though you;re so pretty, I bet it causes problems. Do people look at you weirdly when you smoke?

I also wonder if guys would feel like pedophiles for being attracted to you.

The worst is when they raise their eyebrows as high as humanely possible AND do the duckface thing. RAAAAAGE! Somebody needs to look into this pehnomena. What is wrong with just a simple smile?

She is a teen mom! Ahaha, and 50% of her pictures also have her blowing smoke out of her mouth because she's just such a proud smoker... just so trashy.

Also you're right about the girl up top. She's honestly really sweet and down to earth, but extremely materialistic. I really can't say anything meaner than that about her but when I look at her pictures I just sigh. She also has hooooorrible crows feet.

Wow,The 19 y.o looks alot older than 19.

>>6602100
Well, if I don't have my ID with me it can be troublesome since nobody ever will sell me cigarettes, I don't drink though so no problem there. Old people look at me weirdly when I smoke, but it's quite common for younger teens to smoke I guess?
When it comes to guys, when I first started dating my boyfriend his friends would jokingly call him a "cradle robber" even though he is 3,5 years older.
Though pedo-ish guys (age 30/35) seem to be attracted to me, I don't think guys my age or a little older feel like pedophiles? at least not what they've told me...
