I'm pretty sure that it's against the rules to promote a contest on here even when it is relevant because you're not supposed to use 4chan to advertise your shit...

There are no entries yet. Right now, the only things being entered are the "naked face" shots. But those are viewed by curious only. So there aren't any actual entries yet until after friday. A tumblr will be made to show the entries and I'm sure that they'll also be posted at the fb page.

Yes, you can use an auto-correct to fix the color if you want. I understand some built-in cameras can give you a completely different skin color and it will look off if you're yellow in one photo I see you in and then super pale in anothers. But, to be honest, you don't really have to worry about that. This picture is mostly used to validate that you are ____ and show what you look like without the makeup, hair etc.

There's no need, set the white balance on your camera. The setting for tungsten should fix it, even the most basic point and shoot cameras (Including phones) have a preset for it. Tungsten is represented by a little lightbulb.

Sigh. I was really looking forward to entering this, but I've just got the worst cold-sore I have ever had or even seen in my life. My mouth is grotesquely swollen and scabby and it's going to be weeks until it's healed properly. Even then it will likely scar.

I'm toying around with a few ideas. Maybe a Gothic Lolita one, the infamous Dolly look, maybe a Bishounen makeover (gender-bender) for fun and another silly one I was thinking about...is to take a normal picture of yourself, then Photoshop it to hell, so that it even puts Kotex to shame.

Can you wear plain lip balm in your no-makeup shots?

I get really chapped lips in the Winter so I wear it constantly. It doesn't make my lips look any different but I thought I'd ask.

Yes, that's totally fine. Things like, moisturizing and lip balm is all fine and dandy!

The rules have been reverted back to the original settings, no foundation. It wouldn't be much of a transformation if you had makeup on on your bare-face photo. I'm a female and my skin isn't perfect and other girls have submitted theirs. It's crazy to me, you ladies are so beautiful without makeup!

Hello, I'm sorry to say but Cosplay is not allowed for this competition as its strictly J-fashion (everyday wear in Japan and styles). Cosplay is costume play (A hobby and not worn everyday).

The make up is not very impressive. It's actually pretty non-existant. I know mori is a very natural style, but I think it would have looked cuter with more blush to capture a fresh-faced forest girl look, at least some lip gloss/tint.

Hey Badr, I have some tips for you. I hope it's alright.

With mori girl, even though it's a 'natural' look you still can go quite heavy on the make up to make it really stand out. Like >>6548848 says, in pictures you always need to wear more so it shows up better. I think a lot of mori girls wear blush because it is cute and fresh faced, it just gives a youthful glow that completes a mori look. Secondly, I'm not sure if you're wearing eyeliner or not in the picture, but you could play it up a bit more even if you are. If you like, you can even wear brown eyeliner if you wanted to apply it heavier without it looking too dark. You can maybe wear some natural looking false lashes if you wanted your eyes and eyelashes to really pop, but it's not necessary and might be going a bit too over the line. The eyeshadow is nice, I like how you have done that. Finally to top off the look, a rosey lip tint would be nice. Nothing too bright, but a reddish colour to make your lips stand out.

Basically it explains why right now there is only one post. I got a flood of entry pictures that have been approved and currently waiting on the finishes collages. How about this, if contestants want to post their collages here for advice before submitting their final piece into the competition. Can do so and I think the other girls shouldn't have an issue with you doing so. Right now, I've been going back and forth with several girls, who are getting me to okay this and that, as they put together their collage.

The cleanser is talks about, you need a puff like the one she uses in the video to really get that dense foam she's talking about. They sell them for a $2.00 usd (2,000 won) here in Korea. Those types of cleansers they sell in Korea & Japan ranging in $6-$30+. I've used Natural Aqua gel by cure before, but for some people it can be pricy at $46.95 a bottle. I rather liked it, it worked for my sensitive skin and I believe beauty is an investment.

Great question! Yes, this is an overall transformation and geared towards the Japanese way of things. Which includes the makeup and hair. When I think fashion, I always think of the complete look as a whole, not just the clothing.

I've seen girls wearing just a t-shirt and jeans. Yet, the hair and makeup screams Japanese inspired, of course the posing helps as well. So, you don't have to have a super awesome wardrobe, because that is unrealistic for some ladies.

Yes, that is correct and a lot of the ladies where perfectly fine with this method. This isn't like the idol contest, where /cgl/ was picking someone to rep them in this grandeur notion of stardom in Japan. Some contests the viewers choose and sometimes the person running it picks who they want. For the sake of sanity and learning from other contests, I decided to go the safer route and choose the winner myself. Of course this choice is based on what I've seen, from before and after.

Earlier on in the threads, the ladies made their choice. Either share their before pictures along side of their after pictures or simply show the after pictures. I listened to what was said and it was decided that the before pictures would not be revealed for privacy reasons. Which I completely understand.

In any contest, there is always going to be sore losers or people that don't agree with your choices. This goes hand-in-hand with any contest. But, in the end. I'm running things, not them and its my prizes, my money. I make the choices. Anyone I catch making a big stink about it, will be blacklisted permanently from any other contest I hold and because you must submit an entry picture for every contest (with makeup or not), I will make sure that seagull is well remembered.

I'm trying to help the girls who:
A) Are new to J-fashion and don't know how to use normal stuff in their closets to there advantage. I've been posting up pictures, of examples when ever anyone says they only have x,y and z in their wardrobes.

B) I have to be understanding that some girls simply cannot afford some items. But, if they put in actual effort and I don't mean the so called "effort" that was seen in Venus's contest. For example, they don't have extraordinary clothing, but they try to put an outfit together and put forth a lot of effort into their hair and makeup, using accessories, doing their nails.

This isn't an elitist contest, where only ladies with well endowed wardrobes can enter. I would be completely shunning and alienating girls that want to participate in the fun and would like to try their hand at something new. We all have to learn from somewhere and that takes experience. =)

I will be paying attention to the small details when it comes to your collage. Not only how you put yourself together, but your accessories, your nails, hair and makeup. Having a well padded wardrobe and a pretty face isn't going to cut it.

If an "ita" wins any of the 3 placings, you better be damn sure she worked her butt off for it. Like I said before, being pretty and having a nice wardrobe isn't going to cut it either. I can tell when someone rolls out of bed, puts on a wig and a $800 coord with some lip-gloss and takes a few pictures. Like, that's all they have to do, nope! Not going to work. I want to see more than just a wig you pulled out of a bag. Like I said, I will be paying attention to ALL the details and also how much of a night and day comparison it is to your entry photo.

What I'd like to see is more experienced girls helping out the novice girls here with advice. =)

Feel out for the hollow of your cheeks, above that is your cheek bones, you want to apply the blush on that, from the hairline down to the apples of your cheeks in a soft circular downward motion and not on the apples of your cheeks directly (that will give you chipmonk face). This will proved as contour for the face and also some flushed color. If you have a face brush, gently blend the blush out a touch to give it a softer look.

I know everyone's opinion of gyaru ranges wildly (especially since you can still be gyaru in a tee and jeans if you can really nail the hair and make-up right!) so if I could get some opinions on your favorites or most suiting, that would be awesome!

Apologies in advance for the poor lighting. My apartment gets ridiculously dark at night and all I had was a desk lamp. Hahaha.

Some have accessories, some don't at the moment but will when I actually wear it. Feel free to suggest pieces from one outfit to combine with another!

Someone made the suggestion of pairing up with someone else. One does the girl and the other a guy. You would be submitting as a "couple" and the prize would go to the winning "couple".

Whew, just sent in my makeup-less face. I forgot how tired I look without anything on. I also realized I look completely different with a slight change of angle.
I am super excited for this after that trainwreck of an Idol contest.

Yes, of course :3 It's a little hard to describe but the school uniforms you see in anime seem to always follow a template/format, right? I thought about maybe creating your own using what you have in your wardrobe (though you can't just outright wear a seifuku).

Dressing up and taking photos today, but could I get some feedback on my makeup please?

I'm not sure if it's too much or too little, it looked super strong irl but not so much on photos. I don't think I can get the blush any darker. Also tried doing those lips that are darker in the middle and lighter outside.

I'm not really good at makeup and beauty tricks, but I can tell you what I do everyday.

I wash my face with cold water in the morning and night. About 4 times a week I use the Garnier Pure 3in1 cleanser, which I think is great and cheap. It makes your face pretty dry. I think the most important thing is to keep your face dry and not oily, as that will make me break out. So I always avoid those cream that have much oil in it. The one I use now is L'oreal triple active fresh. It's really watery and not oily at all.

Other things I think is important is that I try to remember to touch my face as little as possible with my fingers or palm during the day. If I want to lean my head on my hand I either lean it against the outer side of my hand or drag my sleeve to cover my palm, so that the skin doesn't directly touch my palm. I have also never used any kind of foundation or coverage, which I have heard is bad for your skin.

I have always had pretty good skin, except during the time when I was 15. But I can still break out if my skin gets a little oily, so I just try to keep it dry :)

Yea, I think the touching you skin think is really bad. It was a period where I kept breaking out on my cheek, something that never happened before. It was in a winter break, so I spent a lot of time on my computer in bed, leaning my cheek on my hand. It went away within a week after I stopped the skin contact.
