I wish cosplayers would understand that many of these 2d artists are like 13 year old kids on a deadline, I love them of course, and only make things try to look EXTREME AND COOL. Try to be reasonable with the things you make. You might even come up with a better solution than the artist did.

I remember back around blizzcon, when we were having a Blizzard cosplay thread. I remember I said that I didn't like how many of the girls made retarded rule 63 "sex XD" outfits of characters like arthas, because I felt it ruined the characters and made them look like shit, just so that some girl could get 5 minutes of fame. It was even more retarded, considering there's plenty of lightly-dressed characters to choose from anyways.

I got a shit-ton of responses accusing me of being some "fat jelly whale who haven't even played the games" when I've been a Warcraft-nerd for ages. Why the hell do you do this? Is it some sort of lame, desperate defence-mecanism?

Well, I'm working on a Kat cosplay because it's my friends birthday around the time of PAX and he has a leather/latex fetish.
So, Kat is his favourite.
Also, there is a fair bit of prop work with her, she has like 5 swords and then a bunch of blade things strapped to her legs.

Because the first person clearly likes and respects the character, and did his/her best to represent that character and his/her love for it. The girl who make crappy slutty versions obviously just does it for attention and doesn't give to fucks about the actual character.

Obviously they both want attention, but the first one wants attention from fellow fans, to comment on his/her love for the franchise and to go "oh wow, great to see another Tekken/Dragon age/Warcraft/whatever fan" whereas the slut jsut wants to get sexual attention from nerds since she's not hot enough to get any in a regular night club.

Your skill is way, way, way (lots of ways) more important than you would expect it to be. With stellar player skill, or just with one stroke of genius, you can turn the tide in a game you're losing, possibly even against better players, with supposedly 'better' heroes.

That's why we have WoDotas and Top 10s weekly. Some of those show masterful, jaw dropping presentation of pure player skill.

I've never thought of that before. I guess I couldn't get over the fact that the hat and staff were a hell of a lot bigger than they should be. I still think so, but now I understand the reasoning behind it.

I prefer doing non yordle interpretations, I think the huge hat idea works for making the whole person look small, but yordle's faces are huge compared to their bodies. A type of mascot head might work better if you still want those yordle proportions.

I would start by trying to think of a character who already has slicked back white hair and see if there are pre-made wigs for them online.
If I couldn't find anything I liked I would begin looking though some tutorials.
I've heard of people using fabric glue and a ton of hairspray to slick back wigs, I'll post a tutorial when I find one.

I know these feels. I haven't played Leagues in a good while and when I did I played Corki, Draven, or Taric. I found I kinda prefer the female Heros in Dota rather than the female champs in Leagues.

I admittedly know nothing about wigs whatsoever, but I read that if you want a nice realistic looking slicked back wig, lacefront is the way to go.
