I know that the people I know who took photos will most likely not post them for a few days what with new year's eve and parties and such. The con did fall on an odd timeline this year.

I was damn surprised that even though drama was going on and the programming director left, both within two weeks before the con, it was really good. The panels ran late, and the guest list was kind of lackluster (except for Brittany and Carli, I adore those two) but other than that I saw all my friends and things that could've gone wrong, didn't. I'm a definite for next year. Oh and yeah, my panels were either cut or shortened but surprisingly they still went great.

I went. Cosplayed as Pikachu Friday, then Applejack on Saturday. I'm the blonde one in the first picture.
The pikachu one wasn't much, just what's shown, plus shorts, legwarmers, and a tail.

Ikkicon was pretty alright, IMO.
Played Count the Homestuck, where you count how many Homestuck cosplayers you see. We got to 187 on Saturday, and didn't even go look at the meetup.
Smelled like B.O nearly everywhere, though. But I had fun.

It's not exactly secret that Ikkicon has issues. It's certainly no secret that the cosplay contest has had issues.

Your best option is to take the info people have here, both bad and good, and try to work toward making the con and the contest more respectable. You can't do that in just one year. It's going to take some time.

Well, I couldn't wear my cosplay (Kyoya Ootori; ouran host club) in there, so I took off my jacket to work, so I was constantly putting up with undertoned "bad cosplay" remarks,
but other than that it was a blast. Everyone was fun to work with, and the owner (bless her heart) was working hard.
Everything was really clean this year. We wore gloves to prepare the foods, etc.
We did have a larger food selection than KKmoe, but the general selection was roughly the same.

Well, although everyone in Smoe had purchased a badge we were still required to do the whole "volunteer" motion. There was a clause stating all volunteers cannot be in cosplay unless approved by a chairman.
the maid cafe was approved but there was some misunderstanding on the owner's part, so she just wanted to play it safe (and not risk making them mad, like KKmoe did)
