Alright, dumb as hell question here. Is it possible to, erm, remove a cowl neck from a garment? I was planning on buying fabric to make vriska's god tier tunic, but, i've recently stumbled upon a rather cheap tunic that looks exactly like hers (minus the symbol, obviously) except for the fact that it has a cowl neck. I know how to sew, I'm just a rather busy person and honestly can be a bit lazy (I think everyone can be at times...), so, do you think I should go ahead and try modifying that? If it came out slightly gross it'd be hidden by the cape collar, right?

Going to need to glue down the sideburns and bend the metal holders on the fins to hide them but here's my Cronus wig.

Speaking of shitty styled kids wigs. I need help on my Dirk wig, I've tried spiking full spikes and it looked like a bad Roxas wig so I tried just doing the tips and it looked even worse.
I've used hair spray and then a bit of wax but it looked bad both times.
I'm normally pretty decent at this but I'm having no luck and none of my huge tutorial folder has helped so I figured I'd rather ask than end up on here as another awful Dirk.

Not the same anon, but anchor screws didn't work out too well for me. Maybe I got the wrong kind, or did something wrong, since they anchor expanded out and refused to release the screw. Either way, I've been using insert nuts attached to the inside of the horn, and then drilled a hole into a headband to fit the proper size bolt that goes with that nut.

If it's crimped frizz from pulling too hard on the fibers, unfortunately you're probably out of luck - but you can try conditioning the wig and then adding motion sheen or other types of product to smooth it down and make the flyaways stick to the rest of the hair.

It depends on what kind of frizz it is, like >>6516042 said. If it's just crimped wefts that haven't been brushed out or anything and if your wig is heat resistent, you can probably very carefully take a straightener to it and smooth them out, but if it's a bunch of broken off fibers that have been combed through and what not, you're probably out of luck. Depending on how attached to the wig you are, what you're trying to do with it, and what supplies you have, you might be able to cut the frizz out and sew new wefts in over it, but at that point you're probably better off just buying a new wig.

The Dirk's face and nose are very unfortunate, imo. And their wig is so flat for Dirk, especially in the back, where are the spikes? Also, what is the side of the wig doing? Faux side burns gone wrong?

I like what AR did for the hair, but it's just a chubby girl in a suit, by the looks of it? With what looks like smeared eyeliner or bad photoshop all over her face. If it's eyeliner, then I'd recommend a liquid liner next time around.

I'm overly critical, so what do you guys think?

Yo, chillax broskis... Cigarette's better than nothing (ironically, the one I had was borrowed from my Cronus), although I do agree with you guys that inaccuracy is irritating. I just didn't feel hugely comfortable carrying around a fake joint at a convention. For a private photoshoot, I'd do it for sure, but it's not an easy thing to be out in public or at a hotel with, especially in LA where there are cops everywhere.

I wouldn't consider it impossible, it's more that we don't expect many people to make it well (her huge red sniper rifle looks like the hardest thing to make to me). The problem with most of the dresses we've seen so far is there are not enough loops around the bottom of the dress ie. the loops are too sparse.

And personally, I prefer the loops not to be beaded because I don't see any beading in the picture. They could be looped yarn, tassels or very thin fabric strips (that being said if someone did beaded loops well with the colour matching the dress and lots of them I would probably mind less).

Personally, I went for a bit more stylized look (pic related, excuse my messy room), with the "loops" being cut tiers of a spandex knit, sealed with Fray Check (which works wonders, by the way; I hadn't used it before and I am very pleased!)

Personally, and this is absolutely disregarding how it makes absolutely ZERO genetic sense, I like to have each kid in each group of four racially representing a different continent - so each group has an Asian kid, a European kid, an African kid and a kid from the Americas or from Australasia. The exact race depends on my mood.

The main reason I like this is that both troll sessions contained one representative of each of the surviving troll races, even the ones that were statistically improbable (like how jadebloods are rare, how there are only two living fuschiabloods in the entire troll species, and how candybloods aren't even a thing that happens). Also it provides a nice 'the WORLD must come together to create a new world' feel rather than 'yay and the day is saved by Americans because they're the only people that matter'.

Hey hsg, I know y'all get this question 200 times per thread, but I still managed to get a little lost. I just picked up some expanding foam insulation today for my horns. Do I carve out the shape and then add model magic, or do I carve out the shape and then paint them as is?

you need to put something inside the foam to act as a structural support, the foam will build up but it's not strong for thin things like the tines. use a wire clothes hanger or something and put the foam over it

Depends on the sprite. Davesprite can often be too jarring to be completely orange due to the eye-burning color; same with Nannasprite. However, I would imagine Fefetasprite might not have that problem since it's a softer purple.
