I was wondering about the Lockshop ones too. I think they look nice, but I still don't trust that they'd fit me even though Chokelate is about my height.

I actually think they look bad. The 'shadow' is too dark as well as too thick so the knees look sunken rather than seperated. They are also a very very very unflattering color, both the skin and the shadowing.

The tights can be shipped very cheaply in a (bubble wrap) envelope, so if you buy it in bulk it might be cheaper for you to split your orders so that it can be send as an envelope instead of a package. When it doesn't show "mailbox" shipping as an option it might be cheaper to choose to split your order instead!

The tights are quite sheer, but surprisingly thick. They don't tear easily, but please handle them with care! They are 30 Denier

Now, I don't use eyeliner because my hands shake. I also look a bit whorish with anything too dark under my eyes. But, I kind of feel that a line on my upper eyelid is needed. I heard of that trick where you place your pinky on your cheek to steady yourself, any other hints? Or any other recommendations for doll eyes?

well she's doing it wrong, but what it's for is to highlight the upper lip to make it appear fuller. but only between the cupids bow. as well as a darker color under the lower lip to create a false shadow, that shadow is there naturally if you have fuller lips because your lower lip will make a shadow.

i did it today, no one could tell. they just asked what i wore for my lipstick/lip plumper because my lips looked ~so defined~ today.

I have no pictures of the event sadly(because the photog is taking forever to put them up) , but I made a set for my arms and legs using the sheerest hose I could find and three shades of grey markers.
I'll be redoing it with paint so it will actually hold up to things like body heat, but they looked damned good until they warped.
The 'edges' of the joints and ball as well as the string hole in the back of the knee and inner elbow were dark grey ink. I added slightly darker shading above the edges where they come to the join to give it a raised look. After that I used a light grey to shade at the corners and the sides of the joints. It ended up looking right;the shading gave depth to the joints and the grey kept it from looking too boldly drawn on.

I plan to pic related to my make-up next time I do it. The gloss was made for the androids in AI to make their skin look artificial.

Hopefully, I can help with my response. Being naturally pretty does not give anyone an advantage. You can slap on some makeup and clothing and still look dull. I can see through those types with ease, so worry not about the fairness.

Can't it be both? I want to see you transform, into that persona, that alter ego? Unless, you dress like that everyday and I have qualms with that. It's not so much a "dolly" contest, but I'm anticipating that "dolly makeup look", regardless of the fashion they pair it will. But, it is a J-fashion/look transformation competition. I'm working on the revised rules for the cgl j-fashion competition. I think, I will omit the completely naked picture sent to me, for this one and just require you to do a timestamped photo with the look you chose, date and name/trip. You still have to have no shop in this photo, white or black t-shirt and REAL hair can either be pulled into a topknot, ponytail or worn down without obscuring your face in anyway. All bangs must be swept back from your face. You may also use a headband to hold back your hair. You may wear foundation, concealer & finishing powder. Does this sound fair?

I do need another judge though, one of them had personal matters that conflicted with the time she would to invest in this competition. Requirements are fairly straightforward. You must have a sound knowledge of photo editing and not have a bad rep on here, so people don't feel threatened or misjudged because of personal issues.

Yeah, I agree. I was thinking about joining this contest because it was a j-fashion contest, but then it turned out to be a makeup transformation thing. I never use much makeup, only some eyeliner, because I think I look best natural, and a lot makeup don't really look good on me. The contest says that the person with the biggest transformation wins. Not everyone looks good in Lolita, because you just don't have that body type and Gyaru works better with your body-type and facial structure.

In case anyone still cares about the Lockshop tights, here's a shot of mine.
I don't think the shadows are too dark at all and they fit me very comfortably (I'm 5' 2" and 100 lbs though, they may not be as comfortable for taller or bigger people.) The quality was pretty great too, I accidentally crouched wearing those shoes a couple of times and raked those spikes on the backs of my thighs. They have yet to even act like they might snag, I have nothing bad to say about them whatsoever!

Make up is important in all j-fashions. Maybe not necessarily as heavy as in a gyaru look, but even something that is considered 'natural' like mori girl requires make up to get that clear complexion, rosey-cheeked, fresh faced look. I go outside without makeup all the time, I have pictures of me tagged without makeup on on facebook. But to post it on /cgl/ is a big difference. Especially because a lot of us aren't no name girls, a lot of us have attachments to large communities where drama happens. I've been on 4chan for many, many years. Mostly lurked and would either post in /ck or /tv/....when /cgl/ had beauty threads, hair, makeup, contacts or a convention close to me. I would post, just not trip, because I'm not looking for attention. I'm now in my late twenties, with time on my hands. I took part in Idol contest briefly, but revoked my entry because I realized it wasn't for me.

This whole thing stemmed from me lurking in threads, reading how disappointed seagulls were posted with these types of contests and someone said, "We could do so much better." ...Bam, the idea hit me.
