Well for a first year con that is only working with the funds that each of staff have within their own pockets, it's very hard to afford the big name guests that people would go out of their way to go and see.

I like to believe that the staff of this con are working hard on trying to make the best out of the little time they have before January 27. They've put a tough challenge before themselves.

And as for the con chair and the drama, you should try and understand that he is just trying to give something back to the community that has given him so much in life. Screw you drama llamas

This is going to be a very good con. Kelly Mari Cosplay is probably one of my favorite cosplayers in Canada. She makes her own costumes and all that. It's cheap, it's new, I say give it a try and bring a few friends to ensure you have someone to chill with as well. Why not. If you have a problem with 1 organizer, then go somewhere else that day but it's not like this is a huge investment.

$10 to do something out of the ordinary, possibly attend panels/workshops, buy stuff, use the con as a "test run" for a new cosplay before debuting it at a bigger con, maybe meet new people, maybe plan a meetup for your fandom beforehand. Run out to grab a special lunch and come back later, whatever... There are a million possibilities.

I was hoping for more info on the con, and drama about Antonio since I'm from the boonies and don't know many of these people, but since we're all sharing Tom Savage stories....

I think it was AN'10 and the bf and I were cosplaying Stein and Medusa from Soul Eater. We arrived at the con early on Friday to get into the pre-reg line. Full costume, chilling.
