There's a reason why cons have set people for photoshoots, especially in Florida. People who do these things take time out of their days beforehand to plan them out, contact the con, organize character lists, etc. Shit, the same thing is happening down in South FL too, a bunch of kids who have no idea how to run events are mucking shit up and now there're like a billion in one weekend all because they want to be ~*populah*~ . Then again, the people who run the shoots are pretty well put together down there too.

I could probably pose to hide most of it, or use slightly baggy spandex, but I'm not sure if small thin-except-for-birthing-hips Mituna would work. Showed up late and the panel runner said that they set everything up without her and she couldn't be in it because it was rude. Heyitspj on tumblr. There's a lot of drama revolving around him with. He's friends with a lot of popular cosplayers and people in the HS fandom because of his cosplays. He's an alright kid.
Just really shy and what not. He's cute and really seems to be into his cosplays, but I think they're room for a lot of improvement, especially on his John which is his most popular, because 1. no wig (and he has a black wig) and 2. the hood looks rather bad along with the pants (the colors don't even match up). I've seen people who can pull off using their real hair for their cosplay, but I honestly don't think he can do it.

It's weird to me to see people acknowledge they go on /cgl/ to begin with. I get it more if you mention you went here if someone was ragging on you (though Hinari is not a one time visitor in the least), but when I see people on tumblr regularly talk about /cgl/, that's what's odd.

I think it ties into the fact that tumblr is over-accepting, while 4chan is hyper critical for the most part. Not that good advice is never said, but many people tend to focus on the insults.

So when I see people mention they hang around here, it makes me think that have some of that mean nature in them, especially when I see their friends being posted and rather lesser-known details of drama being talked about.

It's like being in band and shit-talking your classmates in the bathroom, and they happen to walk in and hear it.

i agree with your other points too, particularly the hit or miss part, though i think the Taffyta could have been neater. the edges of the dress looked frayed and the paint on the tights was messy, more effort could have been put into the hat as well.

If fandoms and nerds in general are like the "outcasts" of the world, then Homestuck is the outcast of the nerds and fandoms.

I think it's kind of a chicken/egg situation because for one thing people feel odd out and thus search for other people who are odd (in general nerdworld have a bigger concentration of HBTQ than most other communities). On the other hand people are in the fandom and because they are odd and may from that also find their oddness in not only interests but also sexuality.

As Homestuck have a high concentration of HBTQ more people will see this, and find identities they didn't even know before. And realize the shirt fits pretty darn well.

Then of course it will always be those who do it for the attention (or because they feel too simple otherwise), but I don't think that's nearly as big as people make it out to be.

Also, the convention world is rather girl-dominated, thus many girls will meet more girls they could potentially be interested in. Even if they are straight 70% of the time outside the convention the girl to boy ratio is much higher at the convention. So while she is still attracted to 70% of the men and 30% of the women there will simply be more girls to be attracted to.

I am trans* myself, although not binary, and many of those who claim a trans* identity are just confused or frustrated by the roles they're stuck in. I call them by their desired pronouns, and if they realize that that isn't their thing before going too far they can explore their identity deeper, and thus we get less who believe they're transgendered when they're just non-binary or fluid.
