Stage makeup general! Body paintan, makeup sealan, prosthetic applyan, etc.

I really hate the smell of Ben Nye Final Seal. I'm going to suck it up and use it regardless (I'm not an asshole), but does anyone have any suggestions for getting rid of the smell?

air yourself out, dry in a fan. like stick your face in it as it dries.
then finish with a sent of your choice.

my daily makeup sealer is very very very minty fresh smelling- i just do my makeup before my hair so that as my hair is being done the smell fades a little bit and finish with perfume.

Thanks, that's a really good idea. Didn't think of using a fan.

I just got my Princess bubblegum makeup in the mail... I'm actually scared to try it out.

Fellow PB cosplayer here (we briefly chatted in another help thread).

If it makes you feel any better, I haven't had the chance to test out my PB makeup yet because of school but I am very willing to post pictures of a test run once finals are over! I'm planning to seal it with the transparent Ben Nye neutral powder (or however it's called) and gratuitous amounts of hairspray.

Any tips for keeping makeup on in high-rub areas like under the pits and such?
My character has her arms up a lot, and even though I'm not a particularly sweaty person, I'm scared of it rubbing off just due to the amount of friction

Make a bodysuit instead, saves you time and looks better (color is always even)

But it's a strapless dress, and she doesn't wear a choker or anything. I'm not sure how to blend the edges

>> No.6487869

How do you all go about making fake facial hair and things of the sort? Most of the cosplays I have done the character has had little stubble and I can grow that before I put the final cosplay on, but with my current profession I am no longer allowed to have beards and such.
Is there a type of Marquesas or pen you would buy at a make up store?

I know exactly what you mean about that stuff, OP. I bought a 2oz. bottle and some ben nye makeup samples and I hated all of it. The sheer overpowering minty-alcohol smell of it is just too much.

Skin paint and around your neck. I really really really don't want skin paint rubbing off on my dress. what do?

basically following gropey's tutorial. The pictures that I have testing out the makeup are terrible and taken with a low quality camera. for my darker skintone the makeup came out pretty good (ugh my black girl lips though) at first I was nervous if the makeup would turn out right (really fucking nervous) but just follow gropey's tutorial, take a leap of faith and you'll be fine. it was easier than I thought.

I'm considering cosplaying Marceline, but I'm completely new to body paints.

How much bodypaint would it require to cover the face, arms, neck and shoulders? The containers for Ben Nye seem pretty small, but then again I have no knowledge at all on these things.

Any Marceline cosplayers want to point me out in the right direction what brand/product they used?

>>6489996
well you can always look up "grey skinpaint tutorial" or go with gropey's tutorial with worked for me.
the containers were pretty small but I needed very little paint to do what I needed.
which version of marceline are you doing?

Nice quads

I was thinking about doing the left version, but if I'm too much of a noob with skinpaint, I might opt for her red sweater outfit to help me out a bit.

I'm following this Marceline cosplayer's FAQ for my own PB makeup, she's done several Marceline outfits and even appropriated how much paint will be needed for each version she's done.

Why not do something that.. everyone hasn't overdone? I'm trying to do all of PBs alternate outfits. If you are getting the skinpaint it will last you a good while and It is fun to collect other alt. outfits.
I get inspiration for peebles stuff here: http://pink-sugar-princess.tumblr.com/

I probably could, but I literally just came up with the idea yesterday so I've been more concerned about nailing her skin down then picking an outfit. I'll probably come up with a few and wear it according to whatever the con season is like

Stick it down with spirit gum and then blend the edge with makeup.
