The opaqueness of tights is dependent on the denier ie. 5 denier is thinnest, 50 denier is mildly opaque but still provides decent coverage whilst 100 denier will give you completely covered legs.

You want to searching for thigh highs dependent on denier, preferably around 30-40 in your case.

I bought these in black and white. they stay up pretty well w/o glue or a garter belt. Also, the top can stretch up to about 23". I have fat thighs and they fit me well =_=;;

I've seen people recommend sockdreams before, but never actually used them myself. They have a line called "Solid Opaque Thigh High", so I'm assuming that'd probably be a good bet.
Wish I could help more, I love thigh highs. But being 5'8", most thigh highs end up being OTK's on me.

also, the white ones are still opaque even if stretched. on top of that, I have brown skin and the thigh highs still appear a solid white, they are great socks.

however, they are really warm.

I am 5'9 and I get my socks from sock dreams and I have had no problem with length for the thigh highs. I personally haven't bought from anywhere else though.

I will always swear by the thigh highs from sockdreams. I own at least five pairs from there. Their Extraordinary Thigh Highd are truly extraordinary. They also come in striped, longer, and longer striped versions. Best socks I've ever owned.
