>> No.6487327

>>6487323
Yeah. I don't think somebody who does fandubbing(even if she did wig a con contest) really should be listed as an music guest.

I have a feeling it's more to do with her being part of the con in the past as staff then anything.

>> No.6487329

And her work involves Promstuck and a number of mainstream fandoms. So she might be entertainment for those peoples.

>> No.6487331

Also looking over Stephanie, she actually has some more professional involvement. Even if it's not huge, but Zaney just has her fandub work. That'd be like the tripfag G being a guest at ALA.

>Chaz wanted to get Hussie as guest

WAT. No. Nonononono. Chaz gives the okay for guests and provides ideas, sometimes even saying "hey, i want this person here, so this is happening" but guest lists are almost entirely under someone else's jurisdiction. Chaz hates Homestuck and even commented on how there may be a problem involving the fandom crowding out other people who have already scheduled gatherings in specific areas like the patio.

If anything, this is just an unfortunate coincidence.

>> No.6487382

She made a music video. I only know this because a Facebook friend commented on her linking it from her page... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5o30kw8Zji0

I haven't watched it yet and, honestly, I'm afraid too. Her ego might make my eyes bleed.

>> No.6487384

Actually Chaz was openly looking for information on Hussie on the animecons forum. A good probability he was considering it at one point, but realized it would be to much for the con.

>> No.6487388

Plus, Hussie has openly admitted that he'll never attend an anime con as a guest since his product is western art and he doesn't want to intermingle the two, potentially taking away from the true spirit of the convention.

she's a bit too old now, but even when she wasn't, she was too short for anything but the fairies and alice.

she may have even got those parts if she hadn't turned up to the auditions like a nutter, you're supposed to go natural but I hear she didn't do that. and once you have the rep of being a bit of a mental fan girl you got no luck.

It's not a badly sung song at all but you can tell that she forced herself a little too much on some parts. if she cut back and let the voice flow naturally it would have been nicer.

She's too short for the princesses. Also, she showed up to her multiple auditions with her "Ariel hair," layers and layers of heavy make-up like she wears for her princess parties, and a general try-hard attitude. All no-nos for face character auditions. It's also the reason she's looked down upon when she goes to Disneyland. It's one thing to be a faux-princess, but another to be one of.... THOSE... faux princesses.

I wouldn't care that she runs a faux-princess party service except she lies to her employees and clients about True Enchantment being affiliated with Disney on occasion.

Some people just push their voices where they don't go, or they don't stretch it well enough. You need a good 15 minutes of stretch every day to build up your range.

>> No.6487525

>>6487510
Listening to her Youtube covers, she stretches her voice a lot. She tries to emulate the original singers but her voice isn't nearly as full or rich or strong, so it comes across very nasally and pushed and--most unfortunate of all!--devoid of emotion. What a cold rendition of Part of That World.

>> No.6487530

>>6487523
I feel like a lot of the disconnect is with her heavy, heavy make-up. Look at the better face characters at the Disney parks--now obviously they wear thick make-up because you need stage make-up to last for a shift, but her make-up is waaaaaay too harsh. If she went for softer reds and pinks, lighter mascara, more natural eyeliner, etc, she would look so much better.

>> No.6487534

Ok, I just watched the broadway version of Part of That World and, well, my opinion has changed. The poor girl version is just sad.

How has she not been sued by Disney yet? If they'll freak out over kindergartens with Disney characters painted on the walls, how is her "affiliated" costume business okay?

Ugh, those retarded arm movements, her nauseatingly exaggerated facial expressions... somebody has a serious case of Theatre Kid Syndrome.
Also, I'm not normally one to rag on people wearing heavy makeup, but wow, caking that shit on is really doing her no favours, especially the red lipstick she's so fond of. She looks so much less crazy with makeup like in pic related.

When you keep the names of the character in the public domain (Like Beauty instead of Belle, or Mermaid Princess instead of Ariel) and make your costumes a little bit different, they can't do anything about it. I'm surprised that she's been able to do that though. She's probably gotten many warnings.

There are hundreds if not thousands of faux Disney character party services out there. Disney looks the other way most of the time because there are so many. The smart companies toe the line ("Frog Princess," not "Tiana" "Little Mermaid," not "Ariel," etc, basically 'as close to Disney as legally possible') and, as another party princess once speculated, because faux princess parties are a great way for Disney to sell oodles of official party merchandise (You can't have a Rapunzel party without Rapunzel plates, napkins, etc). There have been companies which received cease&desist notices for blatantly infringing on copyright.

I do think Traci needs to be more careful, though, because some of her employee have said in public that they are affiliated with Disney, such as saying that Traci told them Disney invited them to be official princesses at D23 before (when in fact, they were just regular cosplayers) -- which could land her in hot water.
