Tutorial thread? Tutorial thread.

Any kind of tutorial is welcome. I'll dump what I have. Personally, I'm looking for one on how to do the upside down 'v' that Chi's hair has.

I'm looking for a tutorial that'll help me with getting the upside down 'v' Chi (Chobits) has. I've considered trimming, but I don't know if that would be a good idea. It doesn't have to be specifically about it, but something that'll help get the hair-styling muse going.

I'm not sure how that sounds, but I'm running on not much sleep at the moment. Please forgive me if I'm not really being clear/not making sense.

the way they did it wasn't very effective. it's supposed to be a "3D lip look" to make them look fuller.
where you use a light color your your main lips, and darker in the center/alone the inside rim. it's like, mimicking slightly sickly/poor blood flow. or it is when it's pale and red. i think when it's pink it's supposed to mimic bitten lips? and fuller. idk.

mine was already smearing because it was all gloss and no stain but it's more along the idea of this.

it comes off doing anything if you use a gloss or lipstick, it will just fade into each other, blend if you smack your lips, take a drink, anything. it can last a few hours if you do it with a pencil, or stain.

but for me i have dry lips, so pencils are too drying for me. and i lick my lips a lot, so even lip stains don't work for me.

have fun ~ it works best with a stain. so like, get a lip pencil in light pink and cover your entire lips. then dot the stain on the inside of your lips, and slightly on the center an then cover your lips in a gloss. it will last longer than doing it with cream lipsticks and glosses.

NARS makes a eyeliner called "Larger Than Life" and they stay really well. i have very watery eyes, and so my eyeliner comes off on my waterline very easily. this stays a solid 4 hours. so i believe, on an eyelid where there is even less smudging possibility it should stay even better.

most liquid liners come off with wetness, but stay through rubbing. they have the most sharp line. you can't put it on the water line.
most gel/cream liners come off with rubbing as well as wetness. you can get a very dark, sharp line with them if you know what you're doing and you can put it on the waterline as well.
most pencils/khols have the best staying power. but are harder to get a super sharp line, you have to resharpen them frequently. you can also put them on the water line.

absolutely not. i really dislike gel eyeliner except for like- professional use. your eyelids should have primer on them for your eyeshadow and guess what happens when you put a gel/cream on top of a gel/cream? it smears. as well it never fully dries, at least it doesn't if it's a good gel eyeliner. so you have to set it. i mean, it's good for specific things. but i really don't like it for every day. it's not convenient. it's not user friendly. i don't like gel or cream eyeliner. i have used drug store and high end. i don't like any of them as much as i like pencils, khols, and liquids.
i would use liquid on every single person i did makeup on if i could. but since liquid cannot be sanitized between clients it's not an option.

liquid is my favorite, as long as your eyes don't water a lot you will have a great experience with it. and if you do have watery eyes just use pencil where your eyes get wet. this is what i do. i put pencil on my lower lid, liquid on top.

STILA makes a beautiful liquid eyeliner pen, super easy to use, handle, draw with. very new to eyeliner friendly.

if you're getting like "cracks" in your liner it may be because your lid bunches up when you put it on, so try lightly LIGHTLY stretching it to cover all of your lid.

i don't want to sound like i'm demonizing cream and gel liner, either. it is good for it's own thing, what it does. if you want a more smudgy look gel and cream is great. but for crisp liquid and pencil/kohl is better. they dry faster.

Does anyone have any tutorials on how to make a school girl uniform, my 2nd cosplay (Konata) is coming up and I'd like to make it myself since I can sew.

I made a folder with all my tutorials. Needs to be updated, but here it is:

Working in a hot, sweaty, physical environment I love gel liner, it stays on all day and doesn't smudge and I can make a clean line with it. If you're worried about primer smudging it just put some powder on your eyelid thats what works for me.

this might be a long shot, but I've been looking for a way to make my upper lip appear fuller. The cupid's bow is very pronounced and overlaps with the bottom lip, but the lip itself is very thin and can only be seen when facing straight on, with any angle from above it totally disappears because it doesn't face outward like normal lips do, but down.
Because of this, simply overdrawing the shape doesn't work.
I'm drawing retarded but I hope the pic helps, any tips?

Contouring is the technique you're probably looking for.

I found it useful to look up MtF makeup tips on youtube to get a general grasp on the subject.

Judging by what your saying it sounds like your lips are similar to Alyson Hannigan's? Her upper lip does seem to 'curve' in, particularly when she smiles. Judging by how her make up seems to be done in general, it looks as though her lips are left in more neutral tones in order to create more focus on her eyes. I do think you should line your upper lip however, but in a shade that matches whatever lip color you're using. Deliberately highlight your cupid's bow is also supposed to make the upper lip look more fuller, but I don't think that will work in your case (but try it, I could be wrong since I can't see your face.)

I'm always so dumbfounded whenever someone ask for a tutorial for this. It's the easiest thing ever to make, I feel like you have to be a retard not to figure this out. It's as simple as folding a bloody piece of paper.

But that is the correct tutorial. The person who made it just spaced out the pleats a little longer, just fold then in smaller sections.

Does anyone have a good gun tutorial? (preferably one where I wouldn't need to buy a toy gun, since I can't find these in my country)
I'm trying to do this one (sorry for the terrible pic, I had to printscreen it hahaha) but any tutorial is welcome, really.
