Hello cgl, I've come here so I could try to get tips on how to become a good brolita (and not end up like....that guy..who's been featured quite a bit already on this board)
Anywho, I'm mostly looking for makeup help (no experience whatsoever) and other general tips

>pic related, I really like sweet lolita

>> No.6381782

proof you are not said guy

DON'T TALK ABOUT HOW WEARING POOFY PINK DRESSES GIVES YOU BONERS
(even if they do)

DON'T BE CREEPY AND ASK GIRLS TO BE YOUR WAIFU THE FIRST TIME YOU MEET THEM
(especially if they're underage)

Other than that uhh look up makeup tutorials on Youtube I guess and maybe invest in some kind of shapewear made for dragqueens that will give you a more ladylike figure.

>> No.6381818

If you know about the brands and the dresses and prints and such you'll be fine. As long as you make it clear that you're interested in the fashion and not the banging girls / crossdressing aspect.

Hello, sorry to hijack your thread but I recently tried brolita for the first time on Halloween and I'd like to hear everyone's scathing opinions. I'll post a few pics.

You look really cute! I think you would look even more so with a bit more eyemakeup though, just to define your lashes. Also, your foundation looks a bit yellow but that might just be the lighting?

Sorry if this is too personal, but what is your sexual orientation? What got you into lolita and how often do you wear it? I'm not hitting on you, I'm just curious, probably because I'm a sociology/psychology student who overanalyzes things. Anyway, you're adorable. Keep up the good work!

>> No.6381968

>>6381957
Thank you! I'll keep that advice in mind. It might be the lighting, but I'm using some very white BB cream, at least the whitest stuff I could find in Japan... still might not be white enough for my sickly pale skin

UNF. You look really cute, would bang, etc.

My only advice is to learn how to pose more like a kawaii Asian girl (pull your limbs closer to your body when you pose so you appear smaller) and smile with your mouth closed so you look more demure.

It's fine. I'm straight. I've only worn it on Halloween and going to Harajuku once so far. I got into it because I love cute clothes, well cute things in general, all that frills and lace and stuff, and lolita is kind of the extreme extension of normal cute Japanese girls fashion. I wore it because my GF wouldn't wear it unless I did too, but I've done some crossplay in the past. Thank you very much!

Most brolitas I know are gay so it's always cool to hear about/see brolitas with lolita girlfriends. You should wear it again, it really suits you. It's awesome that you're in touch with your feminine side, many guys seem to be afraid of doing anything remotely girly. No problem, thanks for sharing!

>> No.6382115

Why do brolitas always wear sweet lolita? Being for the most part tall, and not having cute roundy features they would better suit classic and/or gothic. Men in sweet lolita almost always wind up looking like creepy ageplayers.

Makeup: A how to apply 101

You will need to go buy makeup. I assume you are poor. Please try Target and look at the E.L.F makeup as it is super-cheap and you can buy a lot to fuck around with.

You will need a foundation. This will be liquid. Compare the colors of the foundation to your inner wrist. The one that most closely matches is your color.

Next is a powder. This should also match your skin. The perfect color is going to take trial and error.

After that, you will need brush and a real brush to put it on with. There will be ones with the makeup. You want to smile when you put it on and dust it over the "Apples of your cheeks" the bumps you get when you smile.

After that is eyeshadow. Pick a natural color a few shades darker than your skin to start with.

Then, eyeliner. You will need it. Pencil, liquid, whichever. This will take hours of work to learn. Start with brown, black is more unforgiving when you're learning.

Next is mascara. You are going to get this all over your goddamn face, so buy some cotton balls and q-tips for easy makeup removal.

Last is lipstick. This should be a shade very similar to your lips. Start with a chapstick or a roll-on gel, proper lipstick is often dark and hard to get off when you draw outside your face.

You will also need moisterizer, a makeup remover, and a real face wash. You must wash your face before applying makeup and then every night when you are done.Makeup needs to be thrown away every 6-12 months or if it starts being "weird"-- too liquid, too clumpy, smells odd, seems to have changed color.

I DO NOT advise you buy expensive makeup--like from Sephora or Mac--until you have the basics down with shitty makeup. You don't want to drop $20 on an eyeliner you waste trying to learn with.

Watch some youtube videos, ask some ladies in your life for help, and then practice, practice, practice. Good luck!

Maybe because sweet is so popular overall we mainly see sweet brolitas? They used to wear gothic more (think old school with dramatic Mana makeup). I don't think I've ever seen a brolita in classic, though.

Another potential brolita here. Even though there's some shapewear out there to make the lower body look more feminine, I still have broad shoulders and a thick jawline. Even with a lot of effort, I'll still look like a drag queen. Should I just go full "IM BEING RANDUM LOL" and keep my facial hair, or is there something I can do?

Don't mimic drag queens, especially in make up. They do over the top almost theatrical because they are PERFORMERS and want to be seen from a stage.

I just had another question. I really don't want all the Loli dresses I am soon going to buy to rot in my wardrobe. Would it be bad to wear them out every day or so?

Blur it? Your facial structure and other major points should still be visible if it's blurred.
