I think the wig is the most important part of the costume. If you get the wig right, you can just wear black clothes, and it'll work, probably.

okay, great. i have lots of that. and this wig is the main reason i want to do the outfit.
question, though. because something that stuck out to me was the harsh v on the forehead- do you think it would be better to make a widows peak wig (lace front) or a v-shape bang? i think a v-shape bang is more feminine but a widows peak would be a harsher look

that's another reason i want to do gijika, i like makeup and hair, i can't make clothing to save my life. so it's not super fun for me to like dress up as some random anime girl because it's basic makeup that i wear every day + a wig + a costume that i couldn't make in my wildest dreams.

i want something i can put effort into and be proud of. which is kind of silly, but i feel like that's really what the root of cosplay should be.

I don't have pictures as I'm not done yet, but I'm working on a cubone gajinka, I know the lighter tan bit on the front is supposed to be like scaley/lizzard skin, as it becomes more obvious when he evolves into marowak, but I distinctly remember the darker brown bits looking like fur at one point in the anime, you know when furry creatures get scared or upset and their fur goes spikey? yeah like that, but I've never seen anyone do their cosplay like that, on google-images it's all plain cotton fabrics and such. I've already done the dress part with fake fur and pleather, I was wondering though if I should just start again and not use the fur or keep going with it?

People often try to make Cubone look "caveman"-like, so fur could definitely be a good idea, I think it fits him well
I'd keep the fur for now, it's always easy to change back to cotton after if you want.

I have this purple dress and it's kinda inspired me to do a ghastly gijinka. The thing is, I was wondering how I should represent the gas. I was thinking about making a headband with ribbons of tulle or something similar fluffing out around it and then something like pic related for the bottom. Do you think that'd be recognizable? I just want to do something relatively fancy.

Just got my photo shoot of my lugia cosplay done a few days ago, I edited and uploaded alot of them and I'm really proud of the costume. Some parts were bought like the skirt and the undershirt, but a lot of it i hand stitched with fleece like the tail, and wings and shit. I love gijinka cosplays.

the first one you posted is blurry and the second one is a very awkward mixture of "i need to poop" and "i have big, saggy, boobs"

not saying you do, like obviously you don't. but that pose makes them look like they're down to your belly button- because in that photo they are. your photographer should warn you of stuff like this, and not even show you or give you photos that are this unflattering.

a little bit of the blame lies with you and what poses you choose, but a good photographer will look at photos as he or she takes them and tell you how it's coming across. especially when you're not working with a model- truth is most people aren't aware of what they look like when they pose.

it's a really cute cosplay though, i hope you can find someone to take better pictures of it.
