Just so you know, I contacted Chesterfield Humane Society through their Facebook account and I encourage everyone else to do the same. The more reports they get the more it's likely they'll look into this case.

I agree, I don't see how this is considered trolling. Often as well I don't think it is, we just talk about all the foolish things she's done. Plus in this case, it's a fucking dying dog and calling the humane society on the behalf of it isn't trolling. :s

I definitely wouldn't say anyone is trolling her. But we're also not "just talking" about her. People are talking about calling the cops and shit. I don't think these threads should be deleted, but I do think that's taking it too far.

And like others have said, I really don't think she's doing too much wrong here. Her dog is extremely likely to be dying of old age, vets are expensive, and it would probably turn out to just be old age. Then all they'd do is suggest to euthanize it. Ashley isn't the first person to choose not to euthanize an animal and prefer to allow it to die at its time.

I'm glad somebody else reported her as well. I'm sorta iffy on how I feel about doing so. On one hand, I don't like getting people in trouble for something based on a hunch. On the other, I deeply care about animals and highly dislike people who neglect them, especially when it's refusing vet care.

It's very likely the dog is dying from old age, but she has alluded she has not seen a vet to confirm this. If she has, then I feel pretty awful for reporting her. In the likelihood she hasn't, the dog could be dying from something else. Last thing I'd want to do is read some journal she posts a few weeks or few months later, describing how the dog looked, and realizing it died from something treatable.

I don't think it's as much about the dog as it is teaching Ashertag a lesson.
I mean yeah, it'd sucks that the dog suffers, but she also needs to learn to actually care for something other than herself, and if it has to be through her pets, so be it.

Unfortunately, whether the dog lives or dies, I doubt she'll care.
This is why getting an authority involved is key.
Nothing tells you to shut up quite like a cop on your doorstep.
