I really loved how my Hikaru came out. It needs hella fixing up. I fucked up my braid, so I had to live without it for ota. I hope to get a new braid for Katsu, and I want to add a waistband and wear my back bow as well. and maybe a new pair of shoes. I could get the stupid elastic to stay on.

I know OP said six months, but I'm gonna stretch it back to ALA. I damn near never do anything cutesy and I've never cosplayed a princess before, so this was totally new to me. I'd also never made a circle skirt, sewn fleece, or made a hood. There were a lot of challenges, and while it needs some touch-up work (and probably a whole new skirt, that thing is a half-glued nightmare) I still love being a big, fluffy princess.

Here's my Lightning that I first wore a few weeks back. I already wore it again last weekend with a few minor things fixed but in general I'm really happy with it. I still haven't gotten the pictures from last weekend, which is sad because in those I remembered to pose so my light up pauldron shows. Can't wait for the newer pictures!

I've only worn the outfit once but cosplaying as Izaya was strangely refreshing especially when you interact with other cosplayers.

I dunno why but I felt myself constantly skipping and smiling when I wore that jacket and I can't wait to adjust the wig and wear it again.

Quite proud of my Yoko.

Gun was my first ever prop I made myself. I'd never sewn with vinyl before, let alone sewn soemthing on my own. I'm still not very good with vinyl, but hopefully with a new machine I can practise more. I dyed the wig too, which was an experience. I screwed it up the first time so im happy I got it right.

Also stupudly proud of the fact that i actually had the guts to wear this, a year ago I never would have thought it would be possible for me to cosplay her since i was a fattychan.

I've wanted to make this outfit for years. The costume is fun, the photos I have done so far are great (this is my favorite of them), it's strangely comfortable, and I just love it. I need to fix up the feather so it isn't quite so terrible, but now that I'm immediately removed from "gosh, spandex applique for that many stars was terrible!" I love this outfit a lot more.

This is certainly my favorite cosplay from the last 6 months, but only because of how well that coat turned out.
I never did get any decent pictures of it. Also never perfected my bitchface. Maybe if I make it to Youma, I'll bring her along and fix both those problems.

That coat is straight gorgeous.

I'm really proud of my Stocking outfit.

I'm lazy about sewing, so usually when I mess up I just go "oh well" and try to hide it. But I actually put a lot of effort into it, which involved me having to remake the skirt (pinning + sewing the lace and doing all the gathering a second time), and it really made a difference.
My wig also ended up being really nice; it was my 3rd try at a Stocking wig and I definitely have a winner.
I also love my socks, since they're actual socks that are actually the right colors with thick stripes.

I also was happy that, even though I was a really popular character, I got stopped for photos quite a bit. Like that makes me feel like I pulled off Stocking really well.

This picture barely shows off the costume but it's the only one where I don't look derpy and/or fat.

Right now I'm the most proud of Tarrlok, even though I couldn't enter it in any cosplay competitions at Kumoricon. It ended up looking fantastic despite the two hours it took to put on, and I had a crazy blast with the other Avatar cosplayers I hung out with. That fucking wig though, man. That was some craaaaaaazy shit to make.

Not six month ago, sorry but its the costume I pretty much like the best. It's not super complicated but I'm happy with how the details turned out. Other then the wig its probs one of the easiest to wear.

Because I got new photos back from a photographer last night and I will never stop being proud of this outfit.

Everything fit well and nothing fell apart. Therefore it is my favourite.

I had an awesome time in Persona cosplay and it was the first time that I've had a costume that little kids would wave to. Never mind that I couldn't see a darn thing.

I love that sword. It was such fun to make.

I really loved cosplaying Princess Shirahoshi! I made everything but the tail, which was commissioned. It has a fin in it but I still have yet to try taking underwater photos. An underwater photoshoot will probably ruin quite a bit of the costume so I'd like to wear it to a con at least one more time. I am crazy about One Piece so it was really awesome talking and being recognized by fellow fans. Oh and the kids were so great. File under proud of how Terriermon came out, and how much fun I had wearing Renamon with him. Also happy with the last few tweaks to Renamon, even though there are still even more changes I want to make (replace the collar fur, stiffen/stuff the purple sleeves).

Wish I could find more pics of it, but I loved my Mrs. Frizzle from SDCC, so happy I found that 3D fabric

the costume itself I did not like for many reasons.. but I really enjoyed cosplaying sora because I usually cosplay serious or mad characters so sora gave me the chance to have some different emotion showed on my face than glaring and whatnot

Arisugawa Shii. not happy at all with how the collar turned out (in the front) and will probably be fixing that. Also, the clear coat on my sword melted in my car on Sunday of AI this year. I will probably just completely redo the damn thing.

I had never worked with pink insulation foam before or made a prop sword, so this was a major learning experience. This is not my best cosplay ever, but it is one where I managed to learn the most from while working.

I haven't posted on here in forever, and the last time I actually cosplayed was Sakura-Con so...lol. I spent probably a good month working on this on and off and I'm super proud of how it turned out. I think I spent at least 20 hours on the bodice alone? I made a vow to myself to not have any costumes use any safety pins or hot glue in their construction that con so everything has proper closures and all the details on the hat are hand sewn on besides the gems. This pic is actually a random hall photo, but it's one of my favourites.

My Alice :) Skirt could do with being a little longer and I would like to add a trim to the collar but pretty much done!

The coat is FABULOUS. Like it really looks like something you'd see in a fancy mall window. My only concern is how pale your legs look in comparison. They're a lovely shape but that's the only thing that makes me double take. Your face and hair though make you look so much like the actress from the movie and you have such a lovely lip shape!

Thank you! I used simplicity 3618 (pic related!), it was a suuuper easy and fun pattern! Though the skirt sizing and bodice sizing are a little askew. I made the skirt a size larger than the bodice, and my friends who made everything the same size ended up having to add a panel to the skirt to make it fit.

When I wore my store-bought Madoka cosplay to a Boston meetup, I had oodles of fun. I felt like a giant frilly cupcake in her outfit and loved every second of it. I hope that someday I'll be a talented enough seamstress that I can make a cosplay by myself that's as labor-intensive as Madokas!

So I started lurking /cgl/ yesterday...is it seriously normal for girls to walk around in their underwear at cons if they're dressed up?

This costume was a spur of the moment decision a month and a bit before the convention date, but wearing it was definitely one of my best cosplay experiences. Ever since playing the game I wanted to cosplay Sakahagi but never thought I could pull it off, then I met some amazing people and saw what they could do with latex and other casting materials and decided to give it a shot.

I've never worn anything creepy before, so I was really pleased by the range of expressions from startled to horrified and it was such a refreshing change from being sexy or cute.

Only three people recognized me the entire con, but it felt more special than usual when they did.

Seeing all the awesome cosplay in this thread makes me a little nervous to post this, but I am proud of it despite all the set-backs and flaws.
