10874161 No.10874161 [Reply] [Original]

magfest finally gave up the ghost and dropped mask rules. does this affect your attendance?

>> No.10874164

It’s 2023, everyone who chose to be protected did that already. And being vaccinated doesn’t prevent it from spreading. Getting bad COVID symptoms(very less likely) is now a choice everyone has if they choose to get vaccinated and doesn’t affect anyone but that individual. They are following the science and research and is moving forward which is great. People just need to stop being afraid if they’re vaccinated.

>> No.10874178

I will now go to your con.
Maybe things can be fun this time despite all the behind the scenes drama.

>> No.10874183

Not one bit. Still won't go, because it's becoming less and less about actual video games/video game music, and more about anime/general nerd shit.

Its just a short drive but there are things you need to keep in mind
>harbor parking garages get so fucking full on fri/sat that if you find a space you want to keep that shit as long as you can
>ubering may just be more convinient if you fuck with that
That said be careful, me and a friend got smashed one day and got into an uber. The driver took us to the wrong hotel, told us it is correct, and we need to hire him for another job again if he wants us to go to our actual hotel. Not sure if he was scamming the drunk or my friend was too hammered to put in the right adress but regardless keep this in mind if you're getting fucked up
Like honestly getting a harbor hotel is nice but its still a cold walk to the con, it still contrasts the gaylord hotel room's ability to just prowl around in pajamas with your make shift sippy cup flask or gatoraid bottle filled with potions made in room. It's the middleground from a hotel across the bridge. Youll have fun but plan your rides to and from. Have a DD schedule or uber.
>>10883235
Wonder if groups get together and still do hotel scalping akin to when it was easier years before.

Easy. Get pre-reg, land room reservation, sit on it for a month or two, then post you're willing to transfer badge/room reservation for double the price of the badge, plus a little extra for the effort, say $200+ or more. Desperate people will slice their own grandma's throat for a Gaylord room. That, or D.C. "whales" with money to burn.
