It feels like nowadays people will get mad at you for giving others concrit online unless they asked for it explicitly. They say "nobody asked you." Sorry, but if you post your creative works on a public online space, you are inviting criticism. Post it privately or not at all if you can't take criticism.

I really don't buy this. A lot of my friends get regular unwanted and unwarranted "tips" but they use them for future cons. Even if they get upset at one thing not being perfect, they will receive productive input and actually use it. 99.9% of """constructive criticism""" is effectively "Lmao your X is shit" or "God stop using X and instead do Y, it looks horrible", and 100% of it comes from people who not only do not cosplay, make props, or have any experience with crafts of any sort, but also from people who literally do not attend cons or associate with any con community. I've seen people write about fraternal conjoined twins and when I explained that only identical twins can be conjoined (trying to be as nice as possible) they said "ok" and then edited their social media profile to say "DON'T GIVE CRITICISM ABOUT MY WRITING IF WE'RE NOT FRIENDS"

I generally pick 1 day for the crazy-nice cosplay with accessories and shit, the rest I pick very convenient cosplays (no crazy props or anything I have to change/undress/take off), and I often have at least 1 day in normal clothes if its 4 days or so. Best of all worlds.
