The Trashville 502s are pretty good, but I can say from experience that the sole isn't super durable. They are men's size so definitely get about 2 sizes smaller than your shoe size (ex. women's size 9 = 6 or 7 men's size).

Is there any interest in custom shoe reviews here? I feel like I'm always struggling to fit my size 9 feet into brand shoes and I got tired of my fake leather shoes peeling so I'm getting some leather ones custom made from a taobao store and I should get them in 2-4 weeks. They had MTO tea parties in real leather available too but I opted not to get those (if I have a good experience and order again maybe I will)

Between Ap and Btssb/Aatp, which shoes have you have lasted longer for you gulls?

For context, my AP Milky Cross shoes are falling apart. The sole is peeling from the shoe and superglue isn't fixing it because of the position of the strap. That and they're finally starting to peel after 7ish? years of consistent wear. I absolutely loved them and I will try to save them, but in the meantime I need new black heels.

In contrast my AP Melty Royal Chocolate bag peeled IMMEDIATELY. It was brand new and the first day I wore it out it peeled so badly I think it's past the point of saving. It wasn't even a particularly hot or humid day. It was horrific, and I'm scared to be burned again.

maybe it's because my only experience with buying brand shoes has been used, but my AP shoes peeled heavily/fell apart basically immediately after i bought them. in their defense they were an older pair (2009/2010ish) so i expected they wouldnt have a super long life (and i didn't pay much for them) so its fine but a little disappointing

meanwhile i have a pair of mid 2010s AATP shoes i bought used on mercari for probably around 10 bucks and they arent even peeling yet after a couple years of going to some walk-heavy meets. by far one of my best steals from the jp secondhand market

Why do you think most japanese lolita brand shoes are not enamel?
Many people think they're too tacky, or have connotations with them being too much like enamel formal girl's mary janes (if they're flat), or have connotations that are sexual (that's one of the reasons why meta's enamel strap shoes are nicknamed meta stripper heels).

I think they only look great when it's enamel meta stripper shoes worn with era appropriate meta, or enamel platform heels with a Moitie or AtePie aesthetic, because it creates a contrast in aesthetics and connotations.

Pair the same shoes, or other enamel shoes, with old school btssb or current btssb aesthetics and it looks misplaced to me most of the time. The contrast is just too big. Would also look wrong with VM aesthetics unless it's some darker, gothier old school VM.

I think there's a time to embrace tacky elements in a coord, but also such a thing as too much tacky.
