Does anyone know if Kasou Wigs is a standalone store or if they're a Taobao reseller? If they're a reseller, I'd rather order directly from Taobao.

>> No.10804245

>>10804239
Pretty sure it's not a reseller considering they also do custom wig commissions and have been around forever.

If you preorder a cos directly through Taobao, how do you get notified when you need to pay the second payment? My dumb ass just put down a deposit without thinking this through.

>> No.10804516

I've become a bit addicted to Xianyu lately and found that you can get relatively cheap commissioned artwork there, with my SS getting the Wechat account of the artist to communicate with if they're willing to deal with a foreigner. I've felt bad about the low prices and have been tipping the artists.

>> No.10804646

>>10804516
Which artists have you commissioned lately? Looking for some cheap comms myself. And definitely get a Wechat if you're going to be commissioning a lot of art from or otherwise contacting a lot of people from China. It makes communication so much simpler.

>>10804516
I've been getting commissions for 20cm plush drawings off xianyu too lol they seriously are so cheap! I always try to tip but they refuse so I end up forcibly giving them money over wechat

>>10804246
In the description it should list the time that they will start taking the second payment so check back on the shop around that time, otherwise I think you get added to a group chat in TB where they will notify you or the shop will message you themselves when it's time?

I asked for 2, one for a friend, and had them in about a week. Tipped, of course, however the third picture isn't accurate to the art style. The faces are a bit derpy for lack of a better word, but it's still cute.

https://market.m.taobao.com/app/idleFish-F2e/fish-pc/web/detail.html?id=671484308821
I really wanted a picture from this artist, but she didn't want to deal with foreigners via a shopping service. Sucks because I love this art style but what can you do.

Do you mean drawings of plushies? How are you able to tip through Wechat? I thought it was impossible as a foreigner, unless you have access to a Chinese version of the app + a CN bank account. And yeah it's addicting

>> No.10804804

>>10804791
I make my own plushies so I commission 娃稿 so I don't have to draw the faces myself!

And I get money into my wechat by using a TB rebate bot (yimei2358 on wechat, just add them and when you buy something paste the link of the thing you want into the chat and if it gives you a big block of text with a red packet emoji somewhere in there copy and paste that into TB app and add item to cart/purchase. once you receive the item and confirm it as received it'll give you a tiny bit of money back. It'll say how much you'll get in the rebate in the block of text it gives you but it's usually something like 0.10-1.50rmb. When you want to withdraw your balance, send 提现 into the chat. I don't know how this bot works exactly or if there's anything sus going on with it in regards to TB account data or whatever but from what I understand it comes from sellers paying the operator to help push their product or something. Anyway, use at your own discretion).

Also another thing about commissions on xianyu just for people interested in general, some artists will trace bases/other art so just keep that in mind when shopping around. Bases get passed around tons on xhs and stuff.

>>10804794
No worries, just check it every now and then and you should probably be fine.

For any Kiwis browsing, my experience with CTExpress (https://www.nzctlogistics.com/)) so far:
I tried to ship a large package via a business friend in China in a shipping container that was being sent anyway, but the container was delayed and he - without me asking - sent the package via CTExpress. It took about 5 weeks to get here from the time it was mailed. The boxes were a bit beaten up but nothing inside was missing or damaged, although the most fragile thing was a keyboard.

I shipped a package with them myself a few days ago - $44 for 12kg, 43x43x57cm. I selected to pick it up just to save time and money, and I live nearby anyway. Customer service on Wechat is very helpful and responds quickly from 9-5. They received the package from my SS on a Saturday without me telling them - I was very busy for the few days around when it was sent out and didn't know it was being sent until late on Friday afternoon. On Monday I contacted CS, input the details about contents then paid via bank transfer and it was no trouble. Unfortunately, I wanted a couple of the things in my package for an overseas trip next month so I'm hoping I'll get luckier with shipping speed this time. They were unable to offer a faster service or ship those particular items seperately via airmail or EMS. That's reasonable so my fault for leaving it so long.

The person who told me about this company frequently receives perfume and other things that are normally unshippable through them. I don't know if this is true, but they apparently don't check the package contents. I'll post again when I receive the package I paid for.

It is expensive in my opinion because it's forced EMS. Shipping starts at like ~$25 or so for the first 0.5kg and goes up from there. They sometimes weigh packages wrong and overcharge for shipping. It's an absolute pain in the butt to ask for a partial refund for overpaid shipping because you need to provide some sort of official proof they overweighed it (usually an unopened package with your country's customs label with weight on there) and the refund goes back to your Alipay account in yuan, regardless of whether you've ever accessed or even set up an Alipay account.

I saw the terms for bralette and matching bra and panty set in the spreadsheet, but is anyone able to tell me what to search for a bralette with matching underwear/lingerie sets that have a bralette instead of a bra? Or at least point me in the direction of stores that have it (the ones listed on the spreadsheet with matching sets were almost entirely proper bras that have cups and stuff). I'm looking for more of a sexy/lingerie style, not daily stuff.
I am very skinny and completely flat chested so anything with molded or shaped cups just hangs awkwardly off of me. Bralette styles that have little to no shaping in the cup and either don't have pads or have removable pads are what fit best on me

Can someone tell me what term I should be using to find traditional bridal-style veils? Or at least a term equivalent to "bridal" to search for bridal accessories? (Just to be clear I'm not buying my wedding stuff off taobao. This is for a photo) The term in the spreadsheet is listed as "veil fascinators" (哥特头饰) and isn't quite giving me what I want. The term I got from Google translate is 面纱 which is bringing up the sort of veils that cover the lower half of the face (think stereotypical belly dancer)
Also is there a more specific term than 婚纱 I can use to search for traditional white, western-style, wedding dresses? It's bringing up a lot of formal dresses that aren't wedding dresses and the alterative term 结婚礼服 brings up a lot of traditional Chinese style wedding clothing

Should I be worried about this message? I've never had it before because the last time I bought from taobao was way before covid and it was through an SS, not directly. Google translate told me it says my item will be shipped before March 16th... Should I really expect to wait that long? Debating whether or not to see if this arrives at the consolidation warehouse in time for me to combine it with other items.
Also how long will taobao hold your items at the consolidation warehouse? 30 days? That's usually the length of time I see for this type of service

>> No.10819281

>>10819158
It's just a max range date provided by the seller. Chances are, it will ship sooner. You can also ask the seller about a shipping time estimate. The text after the March 16th date is the ubiquitous disclaimer on just about every order nowadays that "Due to COVID-19, areas may enter lockdown and other pandemic control measures unexpectedly and cause delays in shipment".

Taobao proxy warehouse will hold order items for free for up to 20 days, then they charge some fee.

I like this a lot, but I'm having trouble understanding the difference between the available options (item link: https://m.tb.cn/h.UhC5Z7w?))
I understand what the two "single skirt" options mean (not a tiered skirt), but I don't understand the difference between the other three options that have tiered skirts and they're definitely different because the prices vary by quite a lot.
The auto-translations I've gotten have been a bit confusing and say the options are "interested in gold", "unintentional gold", and "not applicable intent gold", respectively, and I can't spot a difference between the item in the photos used so I'm hoping to get the input of someone who actually knows Chinese.

>> No.10820315 [DELETED]

I saw anons further up thread saying it was backed up to Europe but saw a thread on Reddit from 6 months ago saying it only took about a month and a half for consolidated sea shipping to arrive in the USA (I'm also on the east coast if that matters, so it would have a long way to travel over land after arriving in a seaport on the west coast).

Review: Angels Heart "My Little Lamb" purchased through Girlism.

Arrival was estimated Jun-Aug, but due to Covid lockdowns, it arrived Dec, sans the blue socks, which Girlism says will be sent later. I'm going to assume I will never see those socks.

The quality looks pleasantly good to me. Beret: the pom is soft, the ribbon is soft, the embroidery looks great. Headbow: sewn down to the band, doesn't squeeze my head painfully, matches the JSK perfectly. Socks: red color matches exactly, has a cute fluffy texture on the lamb face which I didn't expect from the low-res photos, nice stretch. JSK (size M): adjustable straps, removable waist-ties, built-in petti, fully lined, all the lace colors match, detailed applique on the bust, print quality is nice and crisp; polyester fabric feels a bit thin/wrinkled compared to Japanese brand, but not terribly so; the bottom ruffle hem is serged(?), which is a cheaper look than burando.

Overall happy with the purchase. The print, applique, and embroidery are adorable to me. The sizing and adjustment options are great. The trim quality and color-matching is very good.

It's on the product page if you scroll down past the initial photo. It's a bit annoying because it's clogging up my screenshot folder, but to translate stuff in the taobao app, most of the time I just screenshot it and run it through the image function on Google translate. If you do this for a while you'll probably start to memorize some characters and phrases. This is a listing for a pair of shoes for example, and it shows the shipping within China is 0 yuan. Shipping within China (at least to the taobao warehouse, which I think is in Zhongshan for US customers) seems to usually be free, but I can't speak for more remote parts of China or disputed territories like Taiwan and Hong Kong

>> No.10826635

>>10826620

Shipping to the warehouse is always domestic so whatever domestic rate applies, including restrictions like no shipping to Xinjiang (Uyghur) or inner Mongolia. Usually stores offer free shipping or if you buy x amount of stuff, sometimes it's like 8 or 10 yuan. The warehouse is located in southern China. It will never be like in some remote region or special zone like Hongkong/Macau/Taiwan.

Just a heads-up, looks like economy air is back for Taobao shipping for the US and Canada. No more forced EMS.

Look where the shipping cost is usually written in the listing and if it says 预售,付款后##天内发货 that means "on order, will post within ## days after payment", so avoid those. Sometimes it'll say 现货,付款后48小时内发货 which means "in stock, will post within 48 hours of payment" so look for those or ones that don't say anything at all. Look in the description to see if it's an item that has to be made too. You might also see 受疫情影响,物流时效可能延 which means "there may be delays due to the pandemic" in which case there's not much you can do. If you want to ask the seller directly, ask 你好 请问付款后什么时候发货 ("hi, when do you ship after payment?").

Hope this helps.

I've been using taobao official shipping for a while now and like it EXCEPT for the fact that they use FedEx for "last mile" delivery here in the US and FedEx keeps fucking up my deliveries and I've really had it with them. First they threw one of my packages in the bushes at the end of my long driveway instead of putting it anywhere near the house and now my latest package has managed to pass by my town, and end up in a town over 100 miles to the south of me.
What's my best choice for an SS who offers someone other than FedEx for the US leg of the route? Basetao looks like the cheapest but I never hear anyone talk about it...

ordered some chinese brand makeup from taobao and it's all really nice- a couple palettes/blushes from cheerflor, and eyeliner and lipstick from flortte. My fave is probably the lip stuff so I recommend it. The colours #1 and #2 end up blending out to look similar tho, so if youre gonna go for it just get one. Also as always mattes are drying, so moisturize.

Don't shill Chinese makeup, anon, especially lipstick. China still allows toxic dyes to be used in their products. They also still use preserving agents that can turn into formaldehyde over time. There are a lot of other reasons as well, but those are just a few glaring ones. No reason to risk cancers when you can get the same products from Korean or Japanese brands.

non, its from one of the most popular makeup brands in China. It's not some random counterfeit. Yes China can have issues, but there are also ingredient lists on the product itself.

I am willing to believe it can be dangerous, but on the literal top 5 brands? It just seems like propaganda bs.

Don't worry, Anon. A ton of the "top" American brands all produce cosmetics in China as well, we just all turn a blind eye when people have major reactions to western brands.

Uh, anon. Did you actually read the ingredients? Some ingredients for the brands you listed are considered unsafe or toxic. You do you I guess. But shut up with your weird China shilling.

Anon the point is the CSAR still allows the use of those ingredients that are otherwise banned worldwide, not that the products are bootleg. The danger comes from there being no issue with using them, if they're not seen as a problem even big brands won't think twice about using them.

I'm saying REEEEEEEing about Chinese makeup is annoying asf when it all comes from the same fucking place anyways. Additionally American beauty products use TONS of ingredients banned in the EU for health risks. Shut the fuck up, this bullshit derails the thread every single time someone posts makeup.

I'm sure she knows the risks buying makeup on Taobao and it now even gives you a warning and link to read more about the FDA. If you don't want to buy it, great. Don't buy it. Can we not have this fucking discussion every god damn thread.

>Stop warning people so they can make informed decisions instead of listening to random shill anons!
This is the taobao thread not the western makeup thread, what western brands do is unrelated. The defence that "everyone else does it!" doesn't fly with makeup
products. Buying makeup on taobao has real risks unlike ending up with a crap cosplay or ita lolita dress. If anon wants to risk it, fine, but getting this angry at anons trying to make sure others are safe is ridiculous. There's a reason Chinese makeup shops in my city won't stock Chinese brands when they cater to Chinese customers, and it's not sinophobia or whatever.

update here same anon, I looked it up, and so many USA makeup brands manufacture there too. I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to do? Maybellinne, Morphe, Anastasia Beverly Hills, NYX, Sephora, Too faced, Smashbox, Urban Decay, Wet and wild, etc. Is it ok if it's in a local store? Or are there still chances of it being unsafe?? What do I do? I'm so confused.

It will be ok when it’s sold in the US or EU, because companies will tell the manufacturer what they can and can‘t put in it

You really just need to carefully look at every single ingredient in every product
you buy, honestly. Makeup is kind of hard because they don't tell you the % of each ingredient so the effects will vary. Just research unsafe ingredients and look up ones you're unsure about and make your own informed decisions. For instance, the brand you linked uses a dye that's safe for creams, but toxic when inhaled in their powder blush. That is something I would pass on because I wear powder blush daily and don't want to inhale that, but some people may not care. Also I think it's probably a good idea to link the official store ITT when you mention products so that taobao newbies won't jump on the cheapest store available and get knockoffs. For US brands, they do have to technically list all ingredients but the US has some questionable allowances as well. Not to mention any makeup actually made in China will have some contamination risk because while the makeup factory may be clean, their ingredient supplier may not. I know it's not necessarily the same, but I once saw a taobao live of a woman putting History of Whoo samples into unmarked pump bottles to resell with her bare hands just in a random room. Now of course I'm not saying all brands do this, but the laws in China and their ability to enforce them are so lax and limited that crazy stuff happens like that more often. (I can share screencaps if anyone's interested it was very shocking).

This isn't true at all. A shop in my area got busted recently for bootleg makeup they imported as personal goods to avoid business tax. Plus regulations are broken all the time, you have to report it before anyone checks. That's why I never buy dollar store makeup. Who knows if ingredients list is legit or if the factory is clean and up to code.

You're going to have to be more specific, mostly about your measurements and what sort of styles, cuts, washes, etc you're looking for. If you fit well into standard Chinese women's sizing (short, petite, thin), you can probably buy from most stores. If you are too tall or otherwise don't fit, you'll need to stick to speciality stores or get something custom made. I know of a few stores that cater to tall women or do custom because I'm too tall to fit into most women's pants in Asian sizing despite being thin enough to fit in the waist.
