I went nuts. Got a new job where the salary is 4x that of my previous job, so I just went on a fucking spree. I love shitty Taobao painting print dresses, fight me. I also bought a bunch of old Catherine Cottage stuff which will be interesting as some of it is youth sizing (150/160)

Green stars arrived already. I don't think I will ever buy from DarkBox again, I have wanted this dress for literal years and I finally get it, and it made of the shittiest thin material and construction is super average and that has been the same with previous DarkBox dresses I have had too which is really disappointing as its reasonably expensive for a Taobao brand.

I think the Peter Rabbit stuff is supposed to ship soon, so hopefully thats not godawful.

Check wunderwelt fleur for actual moitie. You can get almost a full coord just off there, and then look on Atelier Pierrot for things you couldn't find off WW. This stuff you got looks nothing like moitie I'm sorry to say. Those shoes are cosplay meme shoes, try any of picrel. Imo it's a good idea to start with the "traditional" lolita coord if you can just to make things easier, aka something like solid black JSK, black or white blouse with a high neck or peter pan collar, black headbow or rectangle headdress, solid black or white OTKs, black heels. Items that would fit those criteria are all in stock on WW and AtePie. It sounds boring but boring is good for your first coord.

A lot of newbies will go "ooh pretty!" at the first dress that catches their eye and nowadays that tends to be really OTT/overdesigned taobao, and they can only really be coorded a few ways (and even then these dresses tend to be hard to coord well even for experienced lolitas). Maximum wearability is priority when you're first starting out. I definitely fell into that trap when I was first starting out and I ended up selling everything I first got because I never ended up wearing them "as clothes" I just got them for the novelty.

JSK is part of a small taobao order (not including one straw hat, and some other misc stuff). I'm curious to see what the embroidery looks like. I happened to find it while randomly search through lolibrary, and luckily enough they still had stock. Wasn't my first choice colourway and I also don't own anything green but I have lots of neutral accessories,esp in cream, that I shouldn't have trouble pairing it.
The skirt is AatP from CC, I also ordered some axes femme cutsews for the summer since they don't affect shipping cost much and are super comfy.

I've also been selling off a bunch of lolita which means figuring out the postal system. I've only been in the US for a couple of years and don't have much experience with it, but so far I really love USPS. I was so intimidated but shipping flat rate takes all the guesswork out of it and I can have the packages picked up so I don't even need to leave the house. I sound like an an lmao. But I finally understand why so many people on LM refuse to ship outside the US lol, it really couldn't be any simpler to ship domestic.

Idk about Dark Box, but Ecailles de Lune (which used to be a Krad Lanrette's counterpart, then split away and Krad created Dark Box instead) is actually so lovely. I have their Forest of Pipe Organ JSK and the colour is nice, print is crisp, and construction is clean. I don't wear a lot of gothic but I love that dress so much.

Dark Box on the other hand I have found all of their designs to be very simple construction wise and they always choose really thin materials that don't really reflect their price point (by Taobao standard) They look good in photos, but theyre just not that great compared to other brands on that same standard.

Oh, it all arrived already. Sadly I am too fat for the youth Catherine Cottage stuff, the long sleeve one beside the blue JSK turned out to be a 140 and even with the stretch of the fabric it wasn't happening HAHAH I am really sad about the black OP though cos the quality was great! The cotton was soooo nice and thick! Sadly it sat at the widest part of my ribs and ended up being mid thigh on me, I did think about modifying it to make it longer, but its too pretty to ruin. Their quality was all over the place though, that OP and the cutsew were great, the black skirt is made of literal plastic like about 0.01 of a single molecule away from being 100% water resistant plastic, the other long sleeve OP was a really shitty velvet, the blue JSK was also quite plasticy and the floral white one is nice but very thin. But oh well, none of them were more than ¥2000 so not a big deal, but Im very surprised how much it varied.

AYART, I do neither gothic nor oldschool, so I can't really speak with confidence. But pointed collars are pretty common in gothic. Of course, there's definitely the risk of looking like you stole your dad's suit shirt if the proportions & details are off. I don't really see what they mean by "clash" when your JSK neckline is so simple and unadorned. High necks are pretty safe in my preference, but depends on the details.

I think the problem with this shirt isn’t really the collar, but how plain and minimalistic it is. Compared to the rest of your stuff it doesn’t have any lace, frills and decorations, which isn’t a bad thing per se, but it would probably clash and stand out in coords. Even if you compare it to the one anon posted, notice how your jsk is bell shaped and the overall feel is less minimalistic and “sturdy” than the moitie jsk. If you want a coherent capsule, you should probably check if all the pieces can be styled without clashing, because that blouse probably could work if you tried really hard, but it would probably be more trouble than necessary.

What I don't like about the bracelet in particular:
The "syrup" just makes it look dirty instead of using the stylized syrup blobs like your pancake hat.
Nothing is proportional. The pancake would have to be huge for the kiwis, bananas, and strawberries to be that size on it. The pancake would have to be GINORMOUS for an entire apple slice on it. So it's not just fruit:pancake size, the fruit:fruit size is off. This says a blueberry, a banana slice and an entire apple are all the same width.
The pancake is just a thin cardboard-like circle, not the a recognizable thick pancake with light colored sides and spotted golden tops/bottoms.
The jump rings are flimsy and will absolutely snap immediately.
I can see hot glue threads, which is an oversight, and will also mean these charms will pop off.

I was on vacation when DHL were to deliver something and it's such a bother, they only keep it for one week before they return it sender, but it looks like I may be able to sort it out by talking by mail, but it's such a bother. Why can't they keep it for a little bit longer before they return it to sender.
