I'm seeing an increasing amount of crossplay prosthetics in the con scene. More women with guy torsos than men doing girl torsos. Not sure how to feel about it. The girls at least keep their facial features since they're doing fujo boys.

Tbf I feel like it destroys the fun of some of the crossplay, the idea always felt better for me when the differences were so clear that you could both get that the person behind it was trully dedicated to it while at the same time having it be something funny to see, crossplay really is unique.

With the prosthetics it just feels boring, the dedication is still there sure but now it is just like every other cosplay it is a shame, the contrast always made it so unique and cool.

women shouldn't cosplay men.

What? Anon I don't want anyone taking anything, I just prefer to see girls crossplay as guys casually without prosthetics or guys crossplaying as female characters without the need for breast pads or anything like that.

I don't think it looks bad, it allows for more realism that crossplayers, male or female, can't usually get.

Backlash against annoying Brads who think cosplay is an excuse to show off their abs and hit on chicks.

Yet the chicks still go after those guys so it's working somehow. My abs only show cause a lot of the characters I do are shirtless unlike the guys who just do a custom version of a male character but with less clothes. Kinda like how thots cosplay a more sexy version of characters. You have to understand that most girls in the cosplay community are too awkward to go after these guys outside their hobby. So any fit guy in the community is already a 10 in her eyes at conventions.

gonna be cosplaying a male soon, gonna bind rather than prosthetics though
please stay mad about it

I mean, most girls in Asia wear breastplates when doing any cosplay that isn’t meant to be completely flat, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a guy wearing one for female cosplays (although I know some just get a bra and stuff if it’s fully covered up since it’s easier, similar to binding for girls doing male cosplay). Hell if I was a dude who wasn’t ripped in the torso and I was cosplaying a character that showed it I might get one (I’m a girl and I’m quite uh… well endowed so I don’t need a boob one either).
Honestly I have no problem with it either way, whatever makes someone feel more comfortable and happy with their cosplay is great in my opinion.
But I’m also in a relationship and not looking at people to get my rocks off.

my twitter feed has been women cosplaying men while using prosthetics, since 2014
is it coming to the west now or something?

>> No.10768753

These torsos all look like shit and once you see then a few times you’ll be able to spot them immediately. Not to mention they look stupid as hell when you have the fake-pack abs to go along with the fatceps and chin fat to name a few.

If I was a girl I’d rather save my money and get ripped for real.

But you would still need to hide your tits for a shirtless man cosplay.
Easier to buy a man breatplate to cosplay a shirtless dude.

Anyone been to any cons recently? In relation to this topic, a lot of girls are trying to be more "masculine" in their cosplays. I dont know what the fuck is going on. Wh compete against men?

>> No.10772523

A lot of my friends has started wearing fake tits over their real ones and shoopin out the seams, not sure what they are planning on doing when actually at a con.

I avoid those girls cause they tend to be the mentally troubled type
