I'm having a lot of trouble trying to find decent sellers of more traditional style qipao/qizhuang dresses. Nearly all the listings I can find are clearly using people's professional cosplay photos, and their final product does not match the photo very closely. It's okay if my product is not a perfect match, but if the dress is totally different and looks cheap, it'll be frustrating. I hope I'm making sense. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Many buyers are from less developed countries and seem elated just to have a "chinese dress," no matter how cheap it looks. You're going to have better luck finding this on Taobao since Taobao is more geared towards selling to actual Chinese people instead of just selling cheap Chinese-made products. There are some SS that offer services to find items with good reviews for you, either for free or a small fee (like $1-5), so using one of those SS could be helpful.

you can wash underwear, the worst thing that can happen is you get low quality poly shit that should be worn only for short periods of time (like photoshoots or to look sexy for your partner). there are some taobao brands that have an ali storefront, but any of the ones worth wearing are gonna be more pricy anyway. It's a big initial investment to make a coord. At minimum, you need a main piece, blouse, shoes, petti, legwear, and an accessory or two. You want to do OTT so that's gonna be a whole lot of extra shit.

NTA but anon is correct. Most countries don't regulate most non food products and only look into it after harm is confirmed. Western brands manufactured in China have higher QC, by choice. It's notoriously hard for consumers to even prove correlation between the product and any injuries, let alone get compensation. Buying from aliexpress is the same as buying leg avenue or adam and eve. No one is legally obligated to test those products, they are the same shit but have different packaging. All thosw supply chains to China for the same products are all leading to one factory. Thinking western sold products made in China are safe or different is naive.

There are some but if I were you I'd just snag some from taobao, the quality will be about the same but it'll be cheaper + more color options. Most of the actual lolita cardigans on ali are resold from taobao.
