Why lie though. Anyone who actually knows anything about designer shit is going to be able to tell that it is cheap. Anyone who works with fabrics or knows how to spot cheap fabrics or trims is going to be able to tell. No need to lie about something so retarded. my office will have a “smart casual” dress code, which is just business casual but slightly more casual i guess. i’m wondering how much i can integrate as a sweet. they’re corporate but really trying to appeal to zoomers and millennials with a loose dress code.

any of my prints would be too much, but i wonder if some of my blouses could work (without the detachable bows, probably with a cardigan and a more conservative skirt).

I bought an old meta petti second hand and it is perfect. It looks poofier in the stock photos, but it is just perfect for low poof and old school, etc.

Plus, it is pretty and very lovely quality. I am probably just odd, but I prefer wearing nice and quality items, just makes me feel prettier and more put together, even if you cant see it.

I think in general, most brand pettis are fairly low poof and made for stacking, so looking for any brand petti would likely be similar.

it really just depends. if you're working for a big prestigious firm and you have to interface with clients (and idg why this would be considered larping, it's not out of the realm of possibility at all?), the dress is rigid. it varies from office to office. so we're going to get some people who say "this would get me laughed out of the office" and others who say "i'm going to wear my bodyline blazer."

IT office jobs, no matter if you're a supervisor, director or entry have pretty lax dress codes that I've seen. No lolitas just people wearing kigus, have a drag queen that dresses up sometimes and a director that wears his brony twilight hat sometimes. This is across 6 companies I've worked for in various ways. If the job doesn't require the customer to see you or coperate heads to see you, dress codes are pretty lax. When Coperate does come by, we're given a few days notice to dress up in professional office gear.

I will mention however, that dress codes end up changing and become stricter when certain parties take the lax dressing too far, like when guys wear pants too tight so you can clearly see their dicks or girls wearing things that show cleavage.

South Texas person here. IT call centers have been my jobs varying from cell phone companies, to cable companies to govt, even a car company. If you're working under a contractor, they tend to be more lenient but the working conditions are also lax enough to be bad for you as an employee. Working directly for corperate is stricter but better working conditions.

It's definitely happening gradually. Years ago my father used to complain about having to wear a suit jacket to repair shit (electrical engineer). Then his direct boss who was a boomer was replaced by a younger Gen X-er and all of a sudden everyone was wearing jeans bc the boss wore jeans and hated suit jackets. Obviously he doesn't work in an office, but you can extrapolate the phenomenon to other places.

It also depends on what sort of business you work in. Small business, start ups, and big corporations will all have different work culture. My first big girl job was doing admin for a moving company (small business). Dress code was very relaxed, hell I even wore a pastel seifuku to work one day and both of the owners were delighted. Then I quit there and went to work at a non-profit women's day program (also admin) and that would have never worked there, so I wore vintagey stuff but didn't dare push it further than that. The clients we dealt with were often incredibly troubled or poor or had a history of trauma and idk, it just felt sort of weird to be so overdressed in this environment. Not because I was worried about my clothes, I just wanted to present a more approachable or down to earth image. ymmv.

ah, okay. call center dress code being more lax makes sense to me. i do consultancy for a big 4. i get contracted out to companies but still do my work from the home office (well, home right now because of the panini). but when i meet with clients i have to look up their dress code and try to match. it blows.

Working as software developer for small, medium, or large companies: dress code is: "For the last time, please wear shoes if you are leaving your work area."

unless you're client facing, entry level dress codes are MORE strict in my experience, and you get more privilege to go outside the box as you advance and become more valuable and trustworthy

This. I’m a senior engineer and have worn melty cream donut in the office twice with wigs, bows and a full cupcake petticoat. No one gives a shit if you’re good at your job

As a lawyer I wear classic jsks and high-waist skirts pretty often. Just not on days I’ll be attending hearings or depositions.

normies thought Michael Kors purses were designer just a few years ago. Also they buy from instagram boutiques aliexpress drop sold clothes for a 500% markup.

They wouldn't know quality if it ate their ass.
