It was seen as modest to cover your head for sundays to the point if people forgot their hats they'd pin a handkerchief to their head, but then eventually gave way to elaborate church hats. Yeah, there’s plenty of cute hijabi fashion out there. The key is that the clothes have to be sleek and simple to match the silhouette of the head wrap, which obviously doesn’t work with lolita. And so hijabi lolita ends up looking super unbalanced.

That said, I do think hijabs would work with the long Innocent World or Seraphim type cuts, but I haven’t seen anyone attempt it.

It depends on the school of faith they follow. The Muslim lolitas and cosplayers I’m familiar with wear hijab and pants on a day-to-day basis, but for lolita/cosplay they will wear wigs rather than hijab, and will wear shorts or skirts with opaque tights.
