I am but a simple fool eternally searching for old screenprint, applique, and embroidery pieces and I do occasionally find them but never the ones I'm super hunting for. I've been posting this damn thing here on and off with other stuff I know I won't find any time soon for a while now? I'm still looking for the navy Milky Planet OP and any Colorful Sherbet JSK but I'm definitely not going to drop a load of cash on them and have AP turn around and do a rerelease. I saw what happened with that damaged Candy Fairy OP and the 1.2k Sugary Carnival OP... I can't even imagine how those buyers must feel.

Apparently, Marine Stripe was all over the place years ago and I couldn't figure out why all of them have basically vanished. I originally thought the designs were embroidered but nope, they're screenprints and that's probably why. They're all probably in the dump somewhere after years and years of being washed incorrectly and cooked in the dryer.

That's the struggle with old screenprints though. They'll deteriorate eventually and if you get them already starting to crack, it's such a struggle. I have a few AP screenprint jsks I grabbed before the sweet boom that are just at that point and I have a hard time convincing myself to wear them. There's no way I'd get them again for the same price or even at all.

In a way, it's good to still have things to hunt for even after a few years but it's also really soul crushing to get multiple other dream ideas that are even older without even seeing a SOLD listing for MS.

I know it was all over LJ back in the day but I never got my hands on one...then my style changed and I stopped looking for a few years and then around 2017 my style changed again and I started looking for it again. You're probably right that a lot of them are in bad condition now due to the screenprint deteriorating but I just love screenprints so much! But anon, please wear your dresses, as long as you handwash them in lukewarm water, they should be fine for a while and it'd be a waste to not wear them out and be your cutest self. I will keep and eye out for your other dream dresses and if Marine Stripe pops up in red I will let you know if you are interested. I had a much larger selection of sizes, but now I’m down to the last couple dozen in the most common size, 9-10. 100% preshrunk cotton, with tie closure backs, most with double layered skirts, growth hens on the sleeves, and two 1” wide growth pleats around the skirt hem that each add 2 inches in height if opened.

I also have a very limited number of pale blue waist sashes to go with them.

I’ve already sold several dozen, in all the other sizes, but I didn’t even think about here until I came across the tea party thread.
