By frivolous I don't mean what's the most expensive you own (it could be if it is,) just what do you consider is a lot for one item for what it is.
What was it?
How much did it cost?
Do you use/wear it often?
Do you regret your purchase?

I guess it would be this for me! I am just starting out and I thought, why am I spending this much money on a rabbit plush bag. I have bought more expensive dresses, but this is the most frivolous thing for me. And it wasn’t that expensive. but this was where I thought, I am really getting into egl and thinking of coords and bags.

I don’t have it yet, it’s being shipped from jp but I spent about $60 on it. I don’t regret the purchase because he is so cute.

I don’t think I would dare to go outside with him that much, but I will certainly put him on in my house very often :)

I do agree overall that $60 is a lot to spend on a stuffed animal novelty bag, but I think you got a good deal nonny! Especially considering how BTSSB pochettes go for $100+ secondhand, and you paid less than retail (accounting for inflation) for a 10+ year old vintage brand piece. Does that include shipping too?

If Mary Magdalene ends up staying dead, I'm very tempted to drop $$$ on a dress in the future just for the status. Someone in my local comm is currently looking for around $300 for an OP and I'm hoping no one buys it so I potentially can one day lol

It was not my best moment getting the Dreamy Lyrical Bunny pouch MTO through an SS, which meant I spent $200 for it including fees and international shipping ... once it arrived and I took one look at its cute face, all was well

this lil fucker (not my pic)

i've spent way more on tiny plush bags that hold nothing (~200 for a couple chinese exclusives) but we're going for frivol and this just makes me laugh. his little hands can clasp around the top of the water bottle

Thanks nonny! Yeah it was $60 with shipping and I thought, “ I need this rabbit” so it was a very good deal :) i was looking at btssb pochettes but they weren’t that cute to me especially for $100.

I just got my first mary magdalene dress and I can say, now I am ruined from other dresses. It is on another league. You should definitely get one if you can.

Didn’t they revive too? I just check their website and they had some updates last month about their genoise coat that they took orders on. So it think you’ll have many more chances to get something from them :)

Frivolous without any regard to the matter of price, I commissioned a renaissance-style snood for a single coord I wore to a renn faire.

Frivolous in terms of what I spent on it, not a brand item but maybe my Fluevog Elizabeths that I've worn maybe once since I bought them new.

I don't think I have any brand that I both dropped a lot on but also haven't worn enough to justify it, I think all my highest price purchases have gotten a good handful of wears at the least. The most I've spent on a single dress I think was around $500 and change and I've worn it several times.

It wasn’t expensive or anything, but it was definitely a frivolous purchase. It only matches with a few of my dresses, and it’s a real pain to carry around. I had the opportunity to buy it in person, and I couldn’t resist. But, I don’t regret the purchase! It was a wishlist item from my babylita days.

Swans/cygnets are fairly uncommon in lolita, so it matches just Milky Swan of the dresses I own, a dress I don’t even like that much and hardly ever wear.

Same here! I got an usakumya coin purse for like $50. I'm going to use her often (in and out of lolita) to justify the price. I don't regret the purchase as I wanted one for about a year or so and usakumya is very cute. I was a little sad that she can't do the flipping ears thing but oh welp she's still a bear cosplaying a bunny. I just didn't want to spend more than $100 for a plush purse but $50 is a lot for what it is.

This dress.
I did get it on sale so it's not the most expensive thing I've bought, but idk how many years ago it was released and I have never worn it once and it still has the tags on.
I guess I don't entirely regret it because I do take it out of my closet from time to time to admire how pretty it is and try it on, but would be nice to have an occasion to actually wear it out. It's just so overly fancy and quite heavy, and the trim makes weird crunchy noises when you sit down.

I got several outfits for my Kumyas that were over $40 even secondhand, but I never wear my Kumyas and I don't have the matching print or even much blue in my wardrobe. Somehow, I don't regret it. I'm certain I'll use it eventually because it's so cute.

I also bought the Kumakumya puppet secondhand for a decent price, but it's still a lot for something so unnecessary. I was inspired by @baby_fukuoka to film little clips using puppets. I don't use it yet because I don't have the matching Usakumya puppet to interact with.
>tfw no friend for Kuma

I also bought an Usakumya blanket secondhand for a fair price even though I already have a lot of blankets. However, I use it almost every day in the winter! I'm surprised I got so much value out of it - I thought it would be a waste.

I bought this ivory Brilliant Romance head dress for ~$85 ($65 + $20 shipping) off of CC last year. It's really pretty, so I don't know if I regret it, but I'm a pastel sweet lolita who barely has any ivory in my wardrobe and it would only go with maaaybe two dresses I have. I also don't really know how to style headdresses like this. I almost always wear normal headbows. It's currently just sitting on my brand bags to make them look cute and regal, but I really want to pull it off somehow, one day. I still feel kind of stupid for buying it.

I've seen the puppet on depop but also cheaper on fril/mercari in the past if you want the usakumya to match.

Skits with puppets reminds me of how Lor uses a rilakkuma puppet for her ad reads and it made me think it would be so cute if a lolita yter just used the btssb puppets and homemade or purchased pochetee or puppet-sized copies of real lolita dresses to make lolita content. It would be unique, you could stay anonymous, and no one can complain about looks on cgl because they're just cute puppets.

I know it'll prolly never happen, but who knows. I don't really watch Tyler but she got her LWLN idea from cgl so maybe someone can make a puppetlita channel one day lol

I'm in a similar boat, except with this OP.

My husband bought it for me as a gift (it was a spur of the moment thing bc it was done by raffle). I've never worn it aside from trying on and if I do it'll probably need a bit of alteration as even at my slimmest it's always been too tight in the sleeves and shoulders. Even once wearable, it's just such a beautiful, heavy, and fussy dress, that I don't know where I'd even wear it. We eloped when we got married and at this point I never even want a wedding, but I guess I'd love to do a bridal shoot in this dress one day, cause I kinda miss not having fancy wedding photos to hang up in the house lol. It'd definitely be perfect for that.
I also like to take it out once in a while to admire it - it's got so many little details. The fabric is damask with polka dots and feels really luxurious, there's pearls stitched to the dress all over the place, and there is an absolutely huge bow on the back. I love that dress so much, and hopefully I do it justice when I finally get to properly wear it.

The most recent Elizabeth OP MTO, still can't believe I spent over $700 on a dress. I don't know what caused this lapse in judgement, but I better love it when it's finally with me because I'll never get back what I paid for it.
