I have never seen a fashion style where people wear/sell clothes that are as worn down, smelly and torn as I have in lolita. Don’t know where you’ve been shopping, but the items I buy from poshmark/Depop have been way worse on average than anything from LM. And obviously vintage fashion people are used to buying and restoring totally torched clothes. Lolita fashion has been around for a long time, so at this point some of the clothes are getting worn out, but they’re definitely better than the average 15 year old garments in my experience.

In general I think the people spending money on AP jewelry are either clout chasers, or people who just really love it. For me, I just really love it. You can "mend" it but it won't really be fixed. There's no way to undo a hole in lace like that. Unlike being able to wash out a stain, rips/holes are permanent damage.

You can def fix it and pretty cheaply. I use substitute lace all the time. Takes about 30 minutes to remove the torn portion and sew in a new piece. You can tell if you're really up close of course, but from any reasonable distance it's completely unnoticeable. Still wouldn't drop $800 on it though.

Just an fyi that Oo Jia sometimes copied the lace when she did AP replicas, so you definitely don't want to go by "recognising" AP lace.

Even worse is I bought it to make matching accessories and the lace looked completely off from the original. It was supposed to be brown, but arrived a weird dark beige colour that didn't look close to AP brown, and then after a year it gained a greenish hue.
