I'm fairly certain that's the cross arch lace

Personally I feel the cross arch lace in particular leans a little too obviously gothic to be used in classic, but I do think that depending on the motifs of the coord/dress you're pairing it with you could get away with using it for classic, specifically if you're doing something with a medieval theme. I think I Do Declare's fashion shows/pieces might be worth a glimpse to see what I mean with medieval inspired classic.

On the other hand if you're just talking about the style and intend something like >>10551871 where the lace is more delicate and floral, I think that works with classic just fine.

I'm a cc customer since 2007 and there was always these buying battles there. CC lists items which are also in their physical stores and it can happen they update with stuff which is already sold out there. This happened to me a few times already.
I admit it got a bit wilder abd more competitive over the years but the updates have a lot of more items than back in that time too.

I think over all it didn't change much. It's just that there are more people interested in Lolita and especially in older items which doesn't help the competitive situation.

I always just felt like the construction had too many 'one size fits all' details compared to other brands that made them feel like I was wearing a costume piece. Things like wrists that are shirred but the shirring is quite loose for my small wrists. My shoulders are also quite petite although my bust is average (~88cm on a bad day), and I always felt like the shoulders and sleeves were hanging off of me. Collars often felt too loose/big around my neck as well.

IW and VM are my favorite brands for blouses, I don't often buy them from other brands anymore besides the occasional taobao or axes femme.

What's the best way to store a very heavy velveteen JSK? I don't want to hang it up by the straps since they're only attached to the bodice by a couple buttons, but I heard folding velveteen can cause permanent creasing and isn't recommended either.

I don't think you've been paying enough attention to CC in the last year then honestly, or maybe you aren't buying the most popular items. It used to be that if you were on the site when it updated, you could get at least one good item (I got a ton of good stuff that way). The problem isn't that things are sold before they are posted - I see the listings live, but by the time the "add to cart" page loads, someone's already bought it. Also the site crashes now when it updates because so many people are trying to buy things. I've had CC charge me even when I didn't secure items because there's a corner case where if two people are checking out at the same time, the system will charge both of them (while only one person gets a confirmation email). I've messaged CC at least 4 separate times and they had to do a manual refund for me.
Like I said, it's got so bad I built a script and figured out some other advantages, and even the script isn't fast enough for popular items. I think around April or May last year is when it started to become insane.

I got my first AP dress recently, it's a near perfect condition 2013 release and I happened to notice the buttons at the waistband were really loosely attached. I thought this was strange since the straps at the top of the dress are better secured. Is this normal for dresses released at that time? I'm going to take a needle and some white string and just reinforce the button through the same holes the original seamstress did it with.

Just a note that the waist ties buttons very specifically are supposed to have a thread shank, it reduces pull on the main fabric and makes it less likely to rip or something.

I've been eyeing used VW rocking horses with heavy damage to the wooden sole (pic related has similar damage, it's not the pair I've been eyeing but I'm using it as a reference since the damage is similar)

Since the sole is wood, wouldn't sanding and adding new lacguer technically help at least somewhat? Do any gulls think it's doable for someone who has basic knowledge of power tools and woodwork projects? I would like to try it myself (and use professional shoe repairshop if I end up fucking up). Sanding will hide the cosmetic damage but what I worry about is the structural one. In your example it looks like the wood is separating at the base, its o the front and back there. If that is on the one you are looking at, it likely will get worse with wear. The back sole also matters too, because if the wear is to the wood, you will need to find a way to build that area back up to make it flat again.

Not sure how much a professional shoe person would know about restoring the wood.

I tried about 20 different ones over the course of a year. Deo containing ingredients such as coconut oil, magnesium, charcoal, etc etc WILL stain, and they aren't that great at preserving natural/good flora balance

I've used tenso before so I'd assume it's the same quality of service, I didn't know buyee has dhl, hopefully that will apply to tenso as well, sea mail sucks. I have two tenso packages in the warehouse right now, I just submitted my buyee order and *hopefully* I can combine my buyee order with the tenso orders... If anyone can let me know if that's possible to combine both I'd really appreciate it.

On a side note, I didn't really like using buyee right now, it's probably more expensive than tenshi and she offers a lot more than buyee does. So if you haven't used other SS yet I recommend you try some different ones, I consider tenshi the best but I use japonica when I don't need super personalized/specific service or speed. Both also do one charge for a whole order, I did not like buyee's cart system...

But when it came to consolidating them, they wrote down the weight as over 4000kg, on a box that was about 600kg. I asked them to weigh it again, they said they did and that that was the actual weight (I weighed it and shocker, they were wrong). So I had to pay like £60 in shipping, which made my package high enough to pay customs (as they wouldn't lie about package value for me), resulting in £120 of shipping on 2 cheap items.

Now I use White Rabbit as my ss and Blackship for my Japanese address and they've never fucked me over, plus they're cheaper

Anon, unfortunately you can’t combine Buyee and Tenso orders since even though they’re run by the same company, they’re different services. Tenso is basically a warehouse where you send items that you can order yourself but can’t ship directly outside of Japan, while Buyee is a proxy shipping service who can help you buy from sites where you may not be able to sign up for due to needing a Japanese phone number or other information.

I’ve used Tenso a bunch and I’ve had a great experience; however the consolidation fees really add up after ~5 packages!

Is Yamato/UPS getting slower recently?

In the summer, I'd get my package in 4 days from Japan to the US. Then it crept up to 5 days. Now it's looking like the earliest it will come is Monday, which makes it 8 days because they don't deliver on weekends, and I'm kind of frustrated.

I live on the west coast in a very densely populated city. I don't know why there's no Saturday delivery here for worldwide expedited shipments. I just kind of hate when packaged don't get delivered Friday and they sit in some warehouse until Monday. Way more opportunities for it to just get misplaced or lost.

Every time I have checked out with Buyee I pay the price upfront. Are you trying to buy an item that's not able to be bought with the special "buy with buyee" or whatever button on mercari?

>> No.10556762

>>10556756 I have heard of some seller raising the price if they realise it's going to a western person, or even anywhere outside Japan, justifying it because that's supposedly the market price out of Japan. I don't know what buyee will do, but I think it's best to use a shopping service that doesn't make it obvious that it is a shopping service, if that makes sense

It was an item that had the "buy with buyee" button, but I guess the seller's terms still required commenting before purchasing? That or it was an old listing. Buyee still charged me for the original amount, I just wanna know if they'll automatically take out money again without asking me if I want to go through with it more. I know I sound stupid but I've always heard horror stories on buyee's lack of communication throughout the years.
>>10556762
Yeah I think that's it. The first price change happened after the seller's reply to buyee, asking if it's going to be resold. I thought they were just confused about what buyee is given buyee's last response explaining their service, but now it seems like they just don't wanna deal with a western buyer, hence the final price increase. I usually use other SS, this was my first and last time using buyee.
>>10556763
yeah, probably going to have to do that, hopefully they see my inquiry before they do anything stupid

I'm the anon with the paranoia issue with another question. How do you clean your dresses? Especially if they're secondhand? I keep them in my freezers for 72 hours then hand wash them after doing the q tip and waist tie test.

Dry cleaner if applicable. Hand washing is fine too. Hope you get your anxiety/paranoia under control anon.

What's the deal with AP camisols (the decorative ones)? I'm assuming they're meant to be worn as blouses and it's just the terminology getting to me? Some of them have ruffles instead of sleeves though, and I'm not sure if that's immodest or not.

I made an order in August of last year and another order in September. They sent the first order to the SF store in October and I got it shortly after that. I'm still waiting on the second order. I bought the second order right after they already packed everything up for the SF shipment, so they couldn't combine shipping with my first order. It's been 5 months. If I were you I'd use tenso or an SS.

Anyone have suggestions for escaping bra straps with square neck blouses and OP's? My shoulders are quite narrow so my bra straps like to fall down as it is unless I pull them pretty far inward but then they pop out from under these sorts of necklines. I don't want to resort to a strapless if I can help it.

casual lolita. If you look for GLB scans around the years they came out in, it was a pretty popular look for summer.

Use a safety pin to keep the bra strap and shoulder strap together.

A better option, if you're handy with sewing, is to permanently sew a snap and thread to hold the bra strap to the shoulder straps. The safety pin pokes a hole in the shoulder straps, and moving around does cause some stress to the holes, so doing the safety pin for a long time can cause quite a large hole to form in the shoulder strap.

Why does /cgl/ , or at least 1 vocal anon, hate nefferinthia? They always call her a Nazi and basically say 'go see lolcow to know why she's a nazi' but all the lolita threads on /w/ don't provide evidence that suggests that she's a nazi, aside from 1 person insisting she's a nazi ad naesium. Can somebody explain what she did, aside from just wearing Die Walkure? or is it just a very vocal vendetta-chan?

Yeah, that's why I'm reluctant to just pin it, one of the dresses I have this issue with most the fabric is quite fine and delicate and I don't want to ruin it. The snaps are an interesting idea but I'm not sure I want to permanently sew a snap into a bra I use for various situations/outfits...

>>10558369
That looks like a good idea, do you know what they're called/how to search for them?
