#6241 and #4072, your gifts have FINALLY been picked up!

#6241, you are an international match for me, so I have paid for express which is ~supposed~ to be 2 - 4 days usually, but I think the lack of flights in and out of my country will likely delay that.

#4072, we are mutual matches! Yours I have sent by overnight courier, so hopefully you get it tomorrow!

3013 here! Sorry for the late posting, one of the cats dragged your package out from under the tree and we couldn’t find it. I love it so much! The little acrylic stand is so cute and I’m so happy you found it, I smile every time I look at it. I also can’t believe you found the cat ears and tail set, literally the best gift I received this year thank you so much! The kumya headband is already decorating my room. Thanks for being a great santa <3

5955 -

I don't know what to say. You have absolutely spoiled me! The clothes fit perfectly and I love everything, the Swimmer accessories are so cute!
You said you have a different style but you chose so well, the LL dress and AF skirt are just beautiful.
I'm so happy with these items, I would have been content with even just a quarter of these gifts for the tier they're in!
Also I chuckled, those wristcuffs are a staple shop for UK lolitas - and they're definitely going to go great with my navy coords!

Thank you so much Santa! You've outdone yourself.

$30-40 tier.

To N (sorry I couldn't see your number anywhere!) -

I love the presents you got for me! The sweets were finished pretty much instantly on Christmas day haha.

The LL cardigan and skirt make an adorable co-ord, I forgot to put down that I needed more cardigans actually, so this was a godsend! The DML skirt looks amazing too, it was exactly what I was after.

I love the little Hime neko plush, she'll join her older sister in my collection~

The poster and pins are brilliant. The sparkly bunny girls literally stole my heart. Special shout-out to the precious kitties and the cute little froggy house, they made me melt inside!

This was an adorable gift to unwrap on Christmas day, thank you so much!

Last but not least, I received one of my cards from 5613 (I'm still waiting on two others to arrive).

It's absolutely adorable, and I literally squealed at the sparkly kitten stickers!
Don't worry about the sweets, I'm more than happy with what you sent - shipping is ridiculous.

Your handwriting is so pretty, and I adore the little drawings you included!
I'm hoping to write back (soon) (TM).
Thank you!

I couldn't find your ID but thank you so much for the wonderful gifts! I'm happy to have you as a Santa again! Your card was so sweet and I love the wrapping paper you used.
I've always been curious about Milky Ange so I'm really happy to have the headdress, and it's neat how they've made it convertible. I love the ribbon barrettes and hair combs! I wore the pompom one to work today. The mask is super cute and such a good idea for upcycling too.
The sheet masks are much appreciated, I really need some extra skincare right now. Especially excited to try the one with the weird face packaging too since I've seen it around a lot haha.
The chocolates are delicious and I'm excited to use the tea infuser, it's much cuter than the one I have now.
Thank you again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

You bet I did!
Everything here is amazing! It's all so thoughtful!
The Pokémon stuff is great because I'll use it, and the shirt especially is gonna be my go to for a lot of events now (you're right, the patterning is fantastic!). The material is a little weird, but it really just means I'll need to hand wash it, which is no problem at all. It even came with some root beer gum (which I'd NEVER had before) and it tasted great.
You special ordered so much of it too! I had to break out Google translate a few times to make sure everything was accounted for. It was also clear with the text on the shirt bag that a lot of this was something special, haha.
The books are fantastic! You really made sure to get a good look at my interests and really rolled with them, it's such a thoughtful gift really, every time I opened a package I was waaaay too excited to open the next one. I'll get some great use out of them.

Really, really great job gull, I feel very spoiled, this is something amazing.

I wanted your number so I could address you more directly (and thank you more directly) but after I saw that you were more interested in me just posting, I made sure to put this together so everyone could see this in all its glory.

Thank you so much, Merry Christmas, and I hope you have a wonderful 2021!

Goose Creek Candle - $18 ($28 MSRP, but the cheapest I could find currently is on sale at $18)

Disclainer: I think the OP gift is fine because the bag looks to be in very good condition and the $45 one I can see on WW is C condition.

Majority of their gift was filler stuff .. which is fine but not towards the majority of the gifts value . Especially in the 100 plus tier.
Maybe they don't know how to shop for girls? Either way anon those items should've been filler . I understand not everyone can afford to gift a lot but that's why we have tiers . Even another bag or a shirt and a figure could still make the 100 dollar value and then some snacks.if you giftee is happy that's all that matters but if that was me personally I'd be upset .I love zelda and candles too.

I mean it's fine in that it's not against the rules, and if your giftee is happy then ok. But for the sake of clarity here's why you're getting criticism--you just kind of missed the mark for the spirit of the event. Are you a crossboarder/on the cosplay side only? You spent $100 and at least got her a decent bag and the plush is cute so I wouldn't call you a grinch or anything. But if you compare your gift to these two 100+ tier examples >>10524712 >>10518547 or even this $30-40 tier >>10524707 where their gifter got them multiple clothing items in their preferred style, accessories cohesive with their wardrobe information, and then extras like skincare/etc are more filler items on top of the price to round the gift out. And >>10525933 is a great example of a non-jfash rounded gift for $100+ tier--lots of items covering multiple interest, with clear thought put into each of them for how you'll use them, and extra care taken in presentation.

If you want to spend about $100 on everything including extras, I'd say this gift is more in line with what you'd expect for a $75-100 tier not the $100+. The $100+ option was added for people who want to go actually above $100 to spoil their giftee vs hovering just at the cap, close to the lower tier (and if you did spend significantly more than $100 w/o shipping, you may want to spend more time browsing for deals). If you're not sure about what to buy someone with different interests for you, the threads and the coordinators have always been very open and encouraging for people to run gift ideas by them or assist with matching your purchases to your giftee's style. Unless they had that plush specifically as a wishlist, items less related to cosplay/jfash are usually intended for extras not main big gift component.

I would recommend you do this next year or stay in the lower tiers instead of signing up for every tier you can just because you can, unless you're actually willing to put in the extra effort.

I'm not mad at the criticism at all haha. I actually appreciate your (and everyone's) crit and will take it into consideration if I decide to apply next year.

Santa you went above and BEYOND, omg

Where to begin? 1st of all, Amazing taste in figures, 2013 racing Miku is iconic and I'm glad you got her! The Sepang version of that year is one of my all time favs! Speaking of favs, I don't know how you knew, but you got me the figure that's the companion to my other Tatio Store Miku! Tatio has been killing it with their Mikus the past few years and this one is so CUTE! The detailing on here is amazing for a prize figure, and is way better than some of my scale figures.

The embroidered Miku you made is STUNNING, everyone in my family is impressed by it! My Grandma really loves it since embroidery is her favorite hobby. It's literally on my wall atm.

One of the pack of stickers you got me, the Rilakkuma Sleepy Time one, is the same as the skin I just ordered for my switch lite! Everything else is on point with my likes! Including the paper humidifier and erasers, that shit is right up my alley!

And the headband/choker thing from BTSSB is SO CUTE! It matches like, everything in my closet!!

My mom says she loves the chocolate mushroom you sent, wish I could have had some lmao

Thank you, so so so much! This is actually incredible

For the effort they have put into the highest expensive tier for their giftee, they don't deserve this.

And anon >>10526683 I would disagree that this would be 75-100 tier, it can barely pass for the 50-75 tier.
The bag is fine, the link plushie is a gray area on whether it could count as part of a main gift, and the others are definitely just filler and can't be counted in the tier price at all.
Lots of people put down little interests in their forms for little fillers, if you can't distinguish what is acceptable you probably shouldn't be taking part in the SS.

Santa organisers, I would love to try and make up for this giftee if that's okay? I can email you directly if you give me the go ahead.

Just want to say I'm not trying to make the gifter feel bad, but in terms of the gift received for this tier I think it only counts as half.
Have you ever done this tier before or checked what counts in the tier? You can look at pictures of previous years too. There's always the option to ask the Santas what counts as part of the present if you're not sure.

Anon, we get what you mean, but fair is fair. If the giftee really has a problem with it they'll take it up with the organizers, furthermore they've learned and understand more for the future.
If you really want to pitch in and give them something extra, email the organizers privately instead of bringing that dirty laundry into the thread.

I dont think I'm going to do this next year. I really get excited each year and each year I get literally the worst gifts compared to everyone . This is my second time doing the 100 tier and literally 0 effort . I give so much info in my applications and my likes are pretty much the same as everyone else here . My santas never talk to me. they never even write me a card with their packages. Ii don't know. Just feels really shitty and it doesn't matter because as long as they spend the amount required , it's fine. Doesn't matter if it's barely acceptable. This sucks . I just would like to have been able to experience this like everyone else... but every year it's the same. I don't even expect to get brando ...but still. Unless the current organizers had no idea of who he was, I feel he really shouldn't have been matched with any lolitas. iirc the first girl got so caught up in the drama she posted her entire form online to prove that she did not in fact ask for a big batch of bows

Just reading all the comments, I think we will make a poll and revise the rules for future. I'll set up a Google Form and post it soonish?

People are ~SUPPOSED~ to post photos of their gifts to the thread and it is included in the rules, but has never been a blacklist offence to not do it, just highly frowned upon. Do we think this should now been changed to "No photo = blacklist?"
If the match doesn't like the gift, is this a blacklist offence, even if the gifter spent well over the value?
Should short or poorly filled out forms be ignored?
Is wrapping paper and a card a requirement?

Would it be rude/ bad to include some photos of gifts from the thread and emails to ask what peoples thoughts were and if they are thought the gifts are blacklist, if they are good for the tier, if they are OTT for the tier, or if the receiver has been grinched?

Please let me know some other issues you would like revised. I think it will be easier in a Google Form as we can have multi-choice and then a suggestions box for proper feedback as well. The threads are hard to gauge who is saying what and a lot of the time I doubt some of the people screaming are even participators. But SaltySnowball also likes to make graphs on the info, so it will be easy to interpret while remaining anonymous when shared!

Yes

>If the match doesn't like the gift, is this a blacklist offence, even if the gifter spent well over the value?
This should be case by case but should be fairly obvious for examples like the "Bitches love Bows" jackass

>Should short or poorly filled out forms be ignored?
Yes. You can have a system to ask them to re-fill the form.

>Is wrapping paper and a card a requirement?
Highly suggested without extenuating circumstances

>Would it be rude/ bad to include some photos of gifts from the thread and emails...
No, this sounds like a good idea.

These are great questions and maybe even a suggestion box at the end of the form would be great, as a participant of many years I was in the understanding that all gifts and cards must be posted. Personally I would say if you’re under a certain tier a gift wouldn’t have to be wrapped if it was coming straight from the store, but I know others who would argue against this so I think the poll would be great.

This is a good idea, but I think some of the issues raised are more black and white while others are in-between and up for personal debate.

There does seem to be a common census when a gift doesn't seem quite 'right' though, it's just a matter of "Does this warrant the gifter having tier restrictions or being blacklisted?" which I think should be considered on a case by case basis by the circumstances.

Here's three examples I can think of.

1. Puvithel. They gifted a top tier, met the requirements, but they gifted their own brand. Not worth taking action against because it was in the rules. However, they then got the same person next year and did the exact same thing and the giftee complained.
>This case the giftee was within the rules but personal preferences came into play.

2. Karl, who seems to be a point of issue this year. Karl has a history of gifting things that don't suit the people he's matched with. He was given another chance and allowed tiers this year. He gifted things slightly related to the Jfashion theme but common consensus was that it was a bad gift and that he hadn't learned from previous years when he did the same thing. Cosplay and Jfashion are the core of the event, people expect their gifters to know a basic amount about these two subjects. He also didn't post his gifts received when he received them, or at Christmas, and had to be reminded to do it. This also goes against one of the core themes of the event.
>This case, the giftee didn't lodge a complaint but the event participants did based on the gifter's past history.

3. The one anon a few years ago who got into financial troubles and admitted that rather than gift away her own possessions to fulfill her tier, she coveted them too much and instead gifted expired food, drink mix, old cookbooks, a chocolate mold, and used cosmetic products.
>This case, the gifter blatantly grinched by event rules.

>> No.10529939

>>10529937
Ran out of room but basically in the 3rd example, it's a blatant violation of rules.

The first case is whether personal preference of the giftee or the feeling of being personally grinched outweighs the rules.

The second case is an example of whether the event participants as a whole can deem someone grinched/under-tiered by popular opinion or deem someone blacklisted by their actions/history.

The puvithel case was kind of outside the rules; puvi didn't gift things from her brand in good faith, she gifted stuff that wasn't an interest of the giftee/I believe some stuff they even specifically didn't like. The value is irrelevant because it's stuff that cost her no money/was from her own brand where she dictates the price/value and it feels shady if she isn't really known as a decent lolita related brand in the first place.

I'm seconding this. I vote Karl should have be restricted to Card Tier.

He messed up with his first gifts but the organizers gave him a chance to resend gifts but with their help. By now he shouldn't have people holding his hand and the meme died despite him clinging to it with EVERY GIFT. Every gift he's sent out has had the "Bitches love bows" drawing and some shitty bows. It's unfunny at this point because in comparison, the gifts he sends are cheap and don't make his giftees happy.

Karl's attempts at being funny and loveable as a non-standard giftee just come off as insulting and upsetting.

Put him in the card tier where he can't disappoint anyone and let him have a creative outlet. No one in card tier is going to complain about getting bows because there's no financial obligation to that tier.

I do feel a little upset though that I tried really hard on his gifts and splurged on him only to find out he didn't extend the same courtesy to his own matches. A lot of his interests I weren't familiar with but I didn't want to get him all Pokemon so I tried my best to mix wishlist items with his multiple vidya interests so I don't know why he couldn't do the same for his matches. his first card to me didn't mention any joking 'bitches love bows' line, that was only included in his second gift after other anons coined that phrase when I posted my picture of my gift. In hindsight I do think it was downplayed too much as a funny thing, he should've been if not banned then limited to a card tier then and there. Instead the message he received was more of a 'nice try but this is a bit disappointing, you missed the mark there but haha its funny' and we can see the result of it now. Back then I didn't want to come off as angry with my first gift, only let the organizers truly know how sad I was (it almost put me off from the ss, it was my first time and I thought receiving that was a sign I shouldn't have ever joined) and my happiness at his second gift wasn't fake, I truly meant it back then when I said it redeemed him. But it only made up for his first gift, and shouldn't have been a sign he was ok to join again, as it wasn't put together by himself and he has proven that if he does join and isn't helped his giftees end up with bad gifts. He should be banned, for everyone's sake, cause he's really had enough chances by now. The difference between his gifts for me was staggering, I have no idea how he truly can't have learned from that in terms of what makes a proper gift or not.

Sorry to add a little more to the Karl saga, he has received some good gifts, yes. But looking back on old notes, I believe he has been grinched every year as well. Also this, >>10529974 the receipts were posted in the thread and they were all bought somewhere like Nordstrom I think it was called? And he genuinely spent $120 on bows. He was allowed to keep participating as he sent a replacement gift which was much better and actually /cgl/ related. But I guess there needs to be a "What should we do in the Karl situation" question added to the form as there is s lot of mixed response.

We usually try to match males with other males that join as they typically have a few shared interests and I know most of them have a hard time buying gifts for girls, especially in hobbies like ours. After that, we try to match to people we think would be easier for them to buy for or have a few shared interests, which unfortunately means we have a few issues. In saying that, there are other males in this event who have bought AMAZING gifts. So its really hard to tell sometimes who will do good and who will do bad.

I personally don't think we should auto-ban all males/ cross boarders. But I think there should probably be some sort of rule around this?? Are we happy continuing to allow any people to join at $40 tier? Do you think adding some sort of "Show us your latest coord/ cosplay" image requirement should be put in for newbies to be able to sign up? You're more than welcome to host since you clearly know everything. I'm also not from the US so I have no idea what Nordstrom is.

The replacement gift which WAS /cgl/ related, hence he was allowed to join again but restricted to lower tiers, last year he was matched to an organiser to prevent another issue and the gift was fine, so he was whitelisted. This year there is an issue, so we are asking if the event as a whole wants him banned.

I'll also add, each year we have asked for additional help. NO ONE stepped forward this year. SaltySnowball and I hosted in 2018, just 2 of us. We had some help last year, and again this year is just 2 of us. If you have issues with the event, please step forward and help so we know what you think needs changing!! It's a lot of time consuming work, and its not always as simple as "oh just ban theme" as the amount of complaints we get behind the scenes that don't always get aired out in the thread would probably mean half of you getting directly banned if we took this approach. A few of the gifts that haven't been posted in the thread is because we have directly asked people not to post them - because they suck and we would rather work it out between people than have a huge drama every year. And when people get like this it really makes others not want to step up and help when all they can see if us getting attacked and moaned at for work we do for the event!

Not just specifically Karl, but there have been a lot of cases bought to us where people have sent something that is just not good and we have spoken to both sides and come to a conclusion, thus the person is allowed to participate again as they have fixed their error. We have also had cases where people were whitelisted without issues in previous years and have turned out to be grinches in other years. So the "Oh just ban him" is a little bit more complicated as it relates to other gifts as well.

It really is a lot of work and to say that they shouldn’t do it just because they don’t know what Nordstrom is is really self centered burgerland behavior.

I love the current hosts so much. You're doing a great job, and I find so much joy in participating.

My only gripe is I'm uncertain about the timeline. I thought Karl did his big bow haul in 2018, then did very well in 2019, to now in the 2020 secret santa get questioned again. Puvithel was the biggest drama last year. A lot of posters in this thread smell new to me.

I'm a male and I feel like I gave good gifts. This year has most of us waiting on delays, so I think I disappointed one of my gulls. The stuff I got for my card tiers were also delayed.

Sorry if I added to the pile of male shame from this year.

However, when the delayed stuff comes I hope that will make up for it. I'll probably get them something on top of the delayed item too.

I think partyshark has done an excellent job this year, better than last year's team.
It's a lot easier to complain than it is to organize everything.

I think Karl should just call it quits for now.
But I think a better solution is to add a gender option in next year's SS.

Something like what we have for Cosplayers.
[ ] if you only want to be matched with females
[ ] if you only want to be matched with males
[ ] if any gender is okay to match with

I don't think anyone would complain and we don't have to use biological genders, but I would recommend it. There was some sissy shaming when matches when out.

Technically her brand is jfashion and sometimes lolita, so it is cgl gifts. I think her brand is gross but it is cgl related enough to count here. It isnt a bannable offense to be using your own goods as there is no rule that gifts have to be bought specifically and handmade is allowed.

I cant say if her choices are lazy, last year she did make an attempt to try to choose applicable items, although she fucked up and didnt send much of not her goods so it looked worse on her but in the 2018 example you can see some different themes that looks like she was trying to match what the person put as interests.

A lot of issues I see with stuff posted and some other drama is that ppl seem to change the definition of what is ok when it suits them, such as the 100+ gift here people bitched about because ppl decided buying a bag and a plushie wasnt good enough. Maybe the issue is lack of expectations being clearly defined? Clearly not everyone is on the same page.

Oh sorry I should be clearer, I have put the $40 match on the grinched list, and the $100+ match is awaiting some items as there is a supply issue. The order receipts I was given were for items from that matches wishlist, so I don't think they have been grinched as the value for those items meets the tier and are things they wanted, but of course this depends on them receiving the items. So he has not been given a second in this case. The second chance thing I mean in general, should we be giving out second chances at all? Or is it easier to just ban them, not correct their issue and find the matches a new Santa? When no one volunteers, finding replacement gifts is hard!

First priority always goes to those without any gift and currently only one person has emailed about helping who I have assigned already to a fully grinched person. So emails will be going out to those who indicated in their forms they would be interested in helping. But if you would like to volunteer to send the $40 match a gift, please email us!

>>10530234
>ppl seem to change the definition of what is ok when it suits them
This is what makes banning people difficult as well! This particular person has given amazing gifts in the past and slightly missed the mark this year but has offered to get another gift for this match. If they were to miss the mark again next year, would that then justify a ban? Even though the gift was of value, and they added items to it?

After the Puvithel drama from last year, we added a rule that anyone sending excessive items from Indie brands (ESPECIALLY IF ITS NOT STUFF THE GIFTEE EVEN LIKES) would be banned outright, so if this kind of thing were to happen again with any Indie Brand they would be removed. Which I suppose it also like slandering your own brands name. Maybe its better we have a /cgl/ jury to decide whether someone should be banned or not each time there is an issue, but I feel that would make waaaay too much unnecessary drama ??

>> No.10530245

>>10530209
I think a strike policy is good. I also think that determining why a giftee is not happy with their gift is important. If it's below the value, but the items are actually nice and applicable, that's very different than someone ignoring their form but still spending a large amount.

I also think there should be more done to cater to people who want specific matches. If someone says they'd want a lolita match and that isn't possible for a reason (location, gift tier, whatever), I think reaching out to them to ask them if they'd prefer to be matched with a cosplayer/other jfashion member or to not participate would be better than making that choice for them.

Im the 100 dollar match and I emailed you that I dont want to have him as my Santa. I've mentioned multiple times that the item was broken and can't be used. My gifts came a little beat up and gift wrap had big rips in it. The gifts weren't even wrapped to protect them in transport which is why everything came so beat up.
I got the bitches love bows paper and the box full of bows and stickers. I asked for no stickers so they wouldn't use it as a way to hit the value. I didn't post because I didn't want to start any drama but the other person posted and it happened . My gift situation is worse than hers in my opinion. ... and I'm in the 100 tier. I tried to contact him multiple times and asked if he needed help. The madoka figure box got dents on it because there was nothing protecting it . I also didn't have that madoka on my list I had a completely different figure on there.

I dont want to deal with someone who put 0 effort into my gift . It feels so unfair that we got someone whose had these issues before and than he messes up again and I'm being told to just stay with him anyways . This was my first time doing 100. Okay. Since I specifically requested you did not post the gift as I knew it would start more drama, I will pour some more petrol on it for all the gulls.

I have already explained to you in multiple emails that there is a delay in your gifts? Why? Because things on your wishlist were replicas from shoddy websites that Karl still chose to buy from. You listed a replica figurine, complained when he bought said figurine, I then told you it was not the one he purchased and he had purchased a genuine one for 3 times the price. Which you then complained as its not exactly the same item. You are still waiting on a pair of 90 DOLLAR SHOES and as well a 70 DOLLAR BAG both of which are things specifically from your wishlist and are directly purchased from the websites you listed and were purchased at the start of November. I asked Karl about the bows and they were a joke and did not count to the value of your gift at all. I noted a single filler item was broken, I don't know what you expect me to do here as I am sure it wasn't intentionally sent damaged, and I doubt a harness would get damaged in transport.

You bombarded him with emails to the point he stopped replying, so I stepped in to try and work out what was going on. Mid gift, you decide you no longer want to be matched with Karl and ask to be added to the grinched list, despite the fact I have said again, multiple times, you are still waiting on the main items from your gift and that you need to wait until you receive everything or until the deadline. You haven't dealt with him at all. I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING UP EVERY SINGLE EMAIL YOU SEND. Which is now over 20 for anyone wondering. You have complained about your gifts every year despite this is the first year the gift is even slightly bad.

AND ON TOP OF THIS. YOU HAVEN'T EVEN SENT YOUR OWN $100+ GIFT OUT. SO CURRENTLY I DONT THINK YOU HAVE ANY RIGHT TO START COMPLAINING WHEN YOUR SANTA HASN'T RECIEVED ANYTHING!!!

Yes. I'm fucking mad.

I knew that you knew more was coming, but by the same token it could definitely look like I was actively trying to be a prick by even including what I did.
I regaled explanations and receipts already to the organizers, and as a note to you guys, it's fine if you want to spill things, but I'll leave that entirely to your discretion.

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't want me as your match, I hope that the rest of the gift will change your mind.

More than anything I feel awful for the organizers for trying to mediate things, be kind to them gulls. This tea isn't the fun kind, and they shouldn't be needing to clean up anything either.

Oh yeah, etsy is great (and I've used them very heavily for past santas), it just wasn't my first thought when it came to sewing patterns. I also figured that since lolita sewing patterns are comparatively specialized, that an amazon search wouldn't be the worst starting point in the world.
Then of course, I made the genius decision of "well, these are the first things I found and they seem fine, Simplicity is even a brand I recognize!"
Finally, once the cart total reached $50, I figured I shouldn't go too much over, and stopped shopping there.

>>10530377
I am still at the stage of sewing where I'm learning patterns (so I wasn't doing much active browsing of them until I actually wanted to buy the gift)
Also, lessons have gotten shut down for pretty much all of covid, so I haven't had a chance to get much better.
I also could've done better though, so your criticisms are well received.

I can send the patterns back if you'd like to try to get a refund on them. I agree with the anon that mentioned etsy, although I tend to sew using Otome no Sewing references and my own patterning methods usually. Unfortunately Amazon isn't the best value for niche gifts, especially lolita. As a suggestion, if you happen to have a kinokuniya, tonymoly and/or daiso in your town, I'd consider going there for jfashion & kawaii gifts last minute in the future.

You included photographs of the items you purchased which I said were cute. I have not seen the receipts of purchase, proving dates they were purchased and tracking numbers, or where items are coming from. I have no idea if you have actually even purchased said items. You were told on the 17th of December your gift would be impartial and the other items would be sent directly to you from the store. Once your received the filler items you appealed immediately to be on the grinched list. The bows and stickers were not included n the over all value and the filler items you recieved (figurine, harness and necklace) were $101 alone. The photo you shared to me of the figurine showed no damage to the box that I could tell, maybe a bent corner or small dent but nothing major.

I am mostly pissed as you said "I havent posted anything about it yet because I don't want people to be mean to him since they'll know who its from by the bow thing" to which I replied "Thank you, I think it is a good idea not to post as it is also not all of the gift there, so it will obviously not look like a $100+ gift either which will cause more drama."

You are in exactly the same situation as Karl, as your first year you participated we had a complaint about your gift (which you did not offer to fix, we called in a helper) and then when we mailed you about it, you stuck by the items you purchased and gave some reasons for the items, we felt bad so we allowed you to participate in the next year at a restricted tier. We never saw the items you received that year, but have brought up multiple times they were not good despite never contacting us or posting them. The following year we mutual matched you with an organiser, and again complained about the gift publicly. The gift that year was fine, so you were allowed to participate in any tier this year - just like Karl.

So yes, I am angry that you are making a huge deal out of this when the situations are so similar.

I didnt even realize that you wrote your discord on there until someone posted it. I don't use discord really so I thought that was your ss number . Thank you for being understanding. When i said I didn't want you as a match when I saw who it was from . then just these 3 small items and bows , I was confuesed thinking I got grinched since this was 100 plus tier. Especially when there was damage. and that your other Match had same issues and I didn't really know If I was getting something else at the time . Neither did the organizers for awhile . I didn't hear from them for a few days after too so I was just like. Oh okay. I was told they weren't sure if you were sending something else . Then a bit later I was told that you maybe were going to get something else, the way it was written made it seem like just now you were getting it . You know, because of the issues with everything . So I was like just don't bother.

I really appreciate your apology. Thanks for contacting me about it and understanding from my view point . I haven't once complained about the time or waiting. I told organizer if I had to wait until Feb id still be fine. All of us are dealing with mail being stupid sadly . I really appreciate the response and I'm sorry if I made you feel bad. The bows would honestly be fine as a joke if it had been with full gifts and no damage it wouldn't have come off so bad .

I obviously don't want you to be grinched, and want you to like your gifts. But this situation has just become so intense because you would didn't listen to my emails.

Noone not even you knew if they were filler items back then and they came all banged up. Of course I messaged you about it. You even said that the gift looked wrong when I contacted you about it.

As I said above I asked you if you needed any other info and you never told me. If you dont tell me how am I supposed to know ???I asked you if you needed something I even told you when I got one of the items . I updated you each time something new happened with her jtems . And if you had asked for any of that I would have given it to you. Which is why I asked if you needed anything else besides the pics . Making up stuff because you're frustrated with me isn't cool.

Dents for figurines and cracks really suck if you're a collector. If you're fine with that ok but I collect figures so it kinda was a bummer.

I said I didn't post anything way before I eventually posted on here . If someone was having the same issue, I responded so they could know it was happening to me too.

>> No.10530423

The first year someone I had said thehy liked bath and make up stuff and I gave them a ton of stuff related. They didn't like it and I got forced to be on the grinch list. Just for that reason .
Because I literally gave my first year person stuff they said they liked n then they ended up not liking it and I was in the value. U also did the same thing then. U said I was harassing the organizers. The organizers contacted me twice with questions so I responded To both of the emails. Then I emailed them to ask for my giftees email to ask for more info because they didn't have much info on their application.
Then you said I emailed bombarded karl when I never contacted him personally ever .
If you don't like me that's fine but to say I did these things when i didn't is just unfair . I have been responding to every email from you . Thx you. Apologized for problems with the gift unrelated to me . Even after asking about if you needed more info I never got you asking for payment proof or anything.
When I did this the first time I didn't didn't KNOW I could fix it. Noone told me Noone brought it up . You can't expect me to know these things unless unless tell me . You're the organizer that's your job . Just like if you wanted payment prof you could have asked me in the multiple emails you sent to me this week. Not once did you say it was an issue that hasn't sent purchase proof and you wanted more than pics.. not once. Only now that you're pissed because of a problem not my fault. When I first started I posted what I got In the thread. I didn't email you guys because I thought that was enough. I was told the next year about this so I did it correctly. the person last year loved what I got them.
Having damaged items with a box of bows and no word about this not being the entire gift in the 100 tier would make anyone question it. Like you reacted same when i sent you pics of everything? Then you brought up grinch list. This is so dumb.

2018 you got your giftee a load of normie shit they didn't ask for, see attached, and they complained, and you were very nearly banned. You spammed the organisers, you claimed you filed in the form high, and couldn't afford a $30-40 tier gift and a card, despite insisting you wanted to be in $100+ first time around.

2019 you were handheld through everything by the organisers. You managed to do okay.

2020 you're kicking up a fuss about a figure that you don't even want, that's apparently dented and/or the box may be dented, but it's only a filler and you're upset it is/might not be (???) the exact one off your wishlist. You are now complaining about your main gift being late when you haven't even sent your own gift.

The organizers do a great job every year. That being said, the ban-hammer needs to be laid more firmly. This person should be banned, Karl should have a tier restriction. There are so many kind people in this event. It's pointless to give these entitled, greedy people so many second chances. Even one second chance is too many. I would be so disappointed to give it my all in a gift, only to find out that, in turn, my giftee gave their giftee garbage.
Nothing against Karl, he seems fine, but he's an outsider to the fashion and he's proven that he doesn't really "get it". which is fine to an extent, but it's not fair to people who are giving it their all, and who are well versed in the fashion. It's especially not fair to the organizers who have to deal with this drama every year after hand-holding him the whole time.

>> No.10530451

This is why we matched them with Karl. Because I KNEW this would become a huge issue for any regular /cgl/ frequenter, and a lolita is going to be a lot meaner than me or Karl. Their form was VERY specific, and I assumed it would be easier for him with a specific form with a ton of wishlists and DO NOT BUYs.

>>10530419
>>10530423
Please send me the screenshots of the orders. I didn't request it previously in our emails as I trusted you had bought the items, however I mentioned it earlier as you spoke about sending me updates, but I haven't got anything to go on other than your word.

I apologise for assuming you were emailing him, again, we received a complaint previously from a match about your emails, so I made an incorrect assumption after your email saying you had tried to message him, that the same thing had happened with Karl. I initially brought up putting you on the grinched list if the gift you were due to receive was not of value/ suitable. After this you have mentioned in emails and in the thread you no longer wanted to be matched with Karl and wanted a new Santa despite not yet having received the final gifts.

Everyone I have previously contacted about a bad gift has immediately offered to fix it, so at the time I assumed this was common knowledge/ usual thing people do was offer to fix it straight away. I feel like I shouldn't need to say things that are generally expected, as I haven't had to for others. Regardless, the reason I brought this up is to point out you are in the same position as Karl. There was an issue and you were allowed to continue participating.

Yes, the gift you currently has does not equate a $100 gift, however we had discussed this privately and were sorting it out, so I am obviously annoyed it was brought up and derailed a thread. I don't dislike you, I don't like this situation!

Shit, if #4504 hasn't even sent her own gifts out then she's got no room to fucking complain at the moment about being grinched when she's grinching someone else in the top tier.

>>10530381
Honestly, please stick to the card tier if you want to participate. It's obvious you don't know much about non-cosplay things and thinking "Oh, this looks close enough!" or "Well, these are the first things I found and they seem fine!" for your matches is going to end badly. Gulls want gifts from others that are actively interested or participating in their hobbies, not someone shooting in the dark and hoping for the best if he doesn't get a cosplayer/anime fan.

You're not actively out to disappoint people but you still manage to do it when you seem to only want to participate and send some cheer. For that, I highly suggest you do card tier next year. You can include any little memes or trinkets you want without worry and receive cards in return without worries about being grinched because of your reputation.
