What they obviously meant to say is that some people have shitty genetics that encourage them to eat more without realizing it, they struggle with keeping accountable and feel like shit all day if they don't sneak snacks in, which is honestly sad and should be sympathized with, not shit on. No one is arguing physics here you have to look at the context and read between the lines. They are obviously not eating 0kcal / day or they would lose weight.
