Maybe we ought to have everyone post whose IDs they've just shipped to or are late shipping to since there's a lot of worries from the previous thread and it's 2 days past the shipping deadline? I know I've only heard from one of my three Santas and it's a little worrying since I'm in higher tiers.

This winds me up every year. If you are going to participate - especially in multiple-tier or expensive tiers - you NEED to keep an eye on the thread and update your giftees. No-one gives a fuck if you’re busy, no-one gives a fuck if you “want to be anonymous, giving updates spoils the magic”, no, it absolutely does fucking not, keeping quiet just makes your giftee think “great, I’m getting grinched”. It takes 30 seconds to say “#1234 I’m your Santa everything is fine/I’m a bit late but I’ll ship ASAP and organisers know/I’ve shipped but my country has postal delays” etc. This is not rocket science.

If you're gifts are late why tf aren't you people updating your giftees???

I don't think we necessarily need this? The organizers have been doing a great job so far letting people know their tracking numbers for their presents. I was worried I was gonna be grinched cause I didn't hear anything from my Santa but I got emailed a tracking number from the organizers last night so I no longer have to worry about it. While yes it would have been nicer if my Santa had updated me that they sent it out, they still did the more important thing of emailing the organizers with the tracking and receipt. I'm sure the organizers will update people as fast as possible just give them some time to be able to message everyone tracking numbers and to figure out who hasn't got one yet. I'm sure they'll fix any mishaps and give potential grinches some type of warning

Hmm I haven't received a mail with tracking info for either of my gifts. One of my santas posted in the previous thread (12 days ago) that they shipped out my gift so its a bit odd

Ohhhh I gotcha! My bad, I didn't see that the organizers had already sent out all the tracking info they had already received. I was under the impression that they were still going through the emails cause I figured it would probably take them a couple days if it was a lot of people that emailed all on the same day. Looking at everyone's gifts, I'm starting to regret my plan of attack.

It seems like everyone likes to get more items that cost little rather than a few big pieces.

I found one main piece that blew my budget that I was vaguely sure my match would like within the week I was shopping, but found six accessories I was confident in that left me room for fillers and hobby-related gifts. My $30-40 tier Santa shipped my gift and it was supposed to arrive by Friday (through USPS) but it says “arriving late”. That happened with a recent Baby order from San Francisco and it arrived two weeks late. So I’m not afraid it’s lost or anything, but I won’t be able to post in the thread about it until it’s here—which might be after Christmas.

I actually spent way over budget. 297 for $40 tier and 506 for $100+ tier for just the base item prices only.

That includes multiple main/larger pieces for one gift that would be the tier value itself and then a main piece and larger items for fillers along with regular fillers for the other gift.

So I combined both options basically lol.

The US mail system is an absolute mess right now. My SIL works at a sorting center and told me it’s wall to wall packages, worst she’s seen in her 40 years with them. And a lot of tracking numbers arent updating even when they move, like they aren’t scanning them properly.

Ive personally had better luck with packages coming from japan to here instead of state to state. I hope all you gulls get your presents soon :(

Hello #9081! First of all I want to say I definitely didn't expect to receive a main piece in the $30-40 tier! I don't have many dresses for casual or daily wear so I'm excited to wear it with a cute cardigan and sneakers! Also a very pleasant surprise to get the Wonder Toy headbow as I'd actually just bought the JSK a week ago! Your card was so lovely to read and very heartfelt, I'm so glad you went the extra mile to find things that fit my wardrobe! I have to say though, my favorite gifts were actually the necklace and the pin! I'm slightly lacking in the jewelry department and I'm so happy I have an adorable sweets-themed necklace that matches a ton of my wardrobe! Holy crap Santa! This was just. Like absolutely wow! I can't say thank you enough for your present. This is more than what I expected for the $30- 40 tier. I feel so spoiled it's not even funny. Your card was super sweet and cute and I can't wait to place it on my dining table. The pieces are all super cute and I'm sure I will find some way to make coords with all of them whether it be mori kei or lolita. My match got me a main item from a brand that I liked and got me a couple things to mix and match with my already existing mori kei wardrobe. That's already way better than what I was expecting. They went an extra mile to find pieces that might not make a whole coord but could still be used individually to make multiple coords later on the line. A whole package does not have to fit a nice aesthetic to be good.

I had an early Christmas eve, blasting Christmas music as I opened your package. As soon as I picked it up I was smiling about the DoDo Airlines card on the outside (not pictured). All the wrapping inside was so cute. You even chose blue heart shaped packing peanuts!!

Both of the socks are wonderful! I've been eyeing the Enchanted Dreamwear design myself, so those are absolutely spot on. I understand why you were fooled by the sax meta letter socks, but I'm already fond of them. I'm sure I can work sax accents into some coord at some point. But opening these were a blast, as I spun them round and round when I realised it was a spiral pattern spelling out the brand. Thank you for the Violet Fane brooch too, it's my first wooden brooch ever. But you yourself didn't mention the adorable teacup necklace! It's adorable, and I can already imagine fiddling with the cups on the chain on a meet in the future.

Both scarves are really comfy! I love that one is a cat and the other is music themed! Both of my favourite things. The socks are really soft & the hair tie (barely got it in the photo oops) is really cute! The lace on the headdress is incredible and soft. The two cardigans are perfect. #9009, you are an absolute mind-reader! You killed it, down to the wrapping paper. As soon as I saw that adorable Korilakkuma charm at the top of the package, I knew everything was going to be daijoubu.

I really needed a short coat, and I wanted a bunny-ear one exactly like this. I can't believe it fits me so great, even the sleeve length. It's buttery-soft, and the color is versatile. I love it!

I literally squealed when I saw the BtSSB pouch because I had been kicking myself for not buying it. The sheet masks inside are going to get used right away because I just moved from super-humid Houston to dry-as-heck Colorado. The hand cream set smells fantastic, too.

Even the AP stockings are an item I've really been wanting because all my legwear was too casual for my fancier pieces.

Everything was spot-on, and I am really touched that you spoiled me so much. Your wrapping was very cute, don’t even worry that it wasn’t “proper” paper, hahah. The Funassyi plush are ones I actually don’t have, and it’s even better because last year I received the mini size Funassyi x Kapybarasan, so now I have the mother, hahaha!
The skirt is lovely, and fits perfectly with my wardrobe! The Snowy Rabbit clip is great, as it matches well with lots of the items that I have. The Usakumya headband, oh my gosh, I have wanted one since they came out, but always seem to find ones that are being scalped/ don’t ship here/ whatever, so that’s amazing. I actually gasped when I opened the necklace (first item you bought)- what an incredible piece of art! I didn’t even know that Metamorphose made this bear necklace, and I actually like it better than the picture I had, ahaha. It’s super cute, and I can’t wait to wear both of these. The QPot ring is so nifty, the green is actually my favourite colour and reminds me of this mint ice cream I used to eat with my grandma many years ago. The packaging design really is a delight, and I wore it for Christmas lunch!

I am now chilling while cuddling the sleeping bag Funassyi, thank you again. I very truly appreciate it, and I’m very touched. Thank you very much and I hope your Christmas was magical too.

This is my first time doing a Secret Santa on /cgl/, and it’s been a real learning experience! I definitely feel like I have to step up my shopping game next year after looking at what others got in.
