Unless there is a specific, vetted brand that's being recommended (and even then), I would say it's a supremely bad idea. I'm definitely a quality snob, and to me the quality of taobao is so variable(and below most brand) that it's either going to be a disappointment or worse, teach newbies that low-quality is both acceptable and the norm. In fact, I could get further on my soapbox and say the booming chinese indie market and treatment of lolita as "fast fashion" in the Chinese market has helped contribute to the direction certain major brands have taken with their releases.

I think LM is the best choice for newbies.
>simple interface
>basic ebay/craigslist concept that they're already familiar with
>purchases arrive quickly
>buy actual burando for cheap
>get them used to the idea that real lolita costs $$$
>get them used to looking at burando sizing

But I think that depends on the newbie, too.

Do they have a decent sense of style or aesthetic? If yes, I think it's fine to point them to taobao (or a taobao reseller to start) for accessories and foundational garments.

You could also have them make a coord collage before buying anything, that you/your comm could vet and give feedback on.

I forgot to add-

Someone who already wears a lot of 'fashion' items, whether that's real fashion or subculture/themed stuff like killstar, even fast fashion like dollskill or similar, probably won't have as many issues. They'll be used to the idea of building complete outfits, looking for deals, styling their hair and makeup to match, etc. and you won't have to worry about sticker shock.

But if the girl lives in jeans+tshirts, never styles her hair, and so on it'll be more of a struggle.

If they're newbies set on buying something new, I'd direct them to a reseller like Glitzy Wonderland or Devil Inspired (Glitzy doesn't have as much as Devil but the total cost comes out to less 9 times out of 10). It's too hard for newbies to navigate an SS early on. I'd encourage them to look at reviews before deciding on a piece. If they're alright with secondhand, I second >>10508934 over buying from a reseller. It's better to make cheaper mistakes early on than expensive ones.

Everybody is trying to make us into these artificial, contrived things just like they are and I hate it. You know what makes me laugh? The way they think of us as half-ape and devil-worshipping primitives. We are not primitive, we are the most highly evolved creatures in the universe.

Those who mock the ways of the ancients are themselves the least evolved. They take things that are very simple and very natural and make them complex, artificial and unpleasant. It's because they can't appreciate the finer things that we do. They'd try to make us like them if they could, but they know they can't. It's because we are better than they are that we don't share their ways. We have our own ways and we keep them sacred.

Not in the US. Referrals to other departments with notes are never sent to the patient. The only thing the patient gets is work release forms that are super generic unless the provider specifies otherwise. And it is illegal, I think at least in California, to inquire about sick conditions for work releases.

The US is very serious about PHI and what information is released to the patient/outside parties. And it seems really unprofessional of the psychiatrist/psychologist to release those types of notes to the patient...so awkward

I'm glad that in the US, doctors don't just automatically have access to your past healthcare records.

I say that because I was hospitalized at an incredibly negligent inpatient behavioral facility. My therapist spent weeks trying to get the notes from my stay, and when she got them, she didn't really tell me anything about them but she disconnected from me almost entirely and I stopped seeing her a couple months later, because she just did a 180 in how she spoke to me.

I decided to go ahead and get the records and see what they said. Dudes, they said a bunch of absolutely insane shit and even threw my family under the bus. Said I spoke sexually to my father on the telephone. I told my boyfriend I couldn't wait to kiss him and that I wanna make out like we're teenagers again??? This was also something that was brought up during a family therapy session and obvs my parents and I were appalled at the mere suggestion, and we all said that was my boyfriend! Well I guess they thought we were all liars, cause that's what they wrote down. Said there was sexual tension between me and my father (fucking GROSS, no there isn't). Said my entire family seemed pathological and there was no wonder it's affected me. Said I was showing signs of amphetamine withdrawal (I'm quite literally allergic to amphetamine) and said both me and my parents lied about what I OD'd on, and that I OD'd on amphetamine, not benzos (a flagrant lie... Again, I'm allergic, I would have been covered head to toe in a scaly flaky rash).

Oh! I guess during my intake assessment (I was black out wasted and don't remember it) they asked me what my hobbies were and I slurred lolita fashion. It was written that all my hobbies are sexual in nature and that I had the peter pan syndrome thing.

So yeah I'm never letting another mental health professional see those bullshit notes ever again.

The mental health institution is a pile of crockery. I don’t know why special snowflakes are so desperate to be diagnosed with something or other so they can get under the claws of these kinds of negligent people. It sounds like you went through a lot, anon, and I’m sorry you had to deal with that, but I have no idea why they wanted to say you OD’ed on something you didn’t because you already admitted to ODing on something else. Is it because benzos are generally associated with a slightly higher class and they wanted to suggest you were trashier? Just grasping at straws.

I’m so sorry you went through that, that’s an absolute nightmare. When I obtained my notes something similar happened- they had all sorts of shit in there I never said and purposely made me look violent (wtf?) so they could medicate me for reasons completely unrelated to my visits. It was hell to fight it, I ended up having to take the hospital to court to get them to drop certain bills because it was clear they were going to abuse the system to keep me as a cash flow opportunity and the falsified notes were insane. Thinking about the shit they claimed I said makes me so upset, I felt like so used and insignificant.

It depends on height. If you're taller 120cm bust may just look chubby like that vanillacarnival chick; I could be wrong but she seems like she is either all titty or taller with good proportions and her weight is better distributed as a result despite having high measurements so she is plus sized but doesn't look bad. If you have a 120cm bust at 5 feet tall though you're undoubtedly obese even if it looks nice. And tallitas like the regular plus size based on comments in spite of the increased measurements anyway.

Honestly very few of them seem to get designing pieces for plus-sized proportions, they just upsize standard designs. If you're aiming at the plus-sized market, don't make only babydoll cuts which are notorious for looking weird on large chests, it doesn't matter if the bodice measurements technically fit. Agreed on the lack of details issue too, so many Western indie brands put out basic bodices attached to basic skirts with maybe lace trim at the hemline if you're lucky, but still charge several hundred dollars for it.

My bust is ~93cm and the bra size I wear is 32E/F, similar to you. My ribcage is pretty big I think for my frame. My waist is about 73cm, but that's because I've let myself go in the last 5 years. Because of that, I associate lolita with the most spiritual and emotional form of romantic love, which is sex. I don’t even wear lolita for any other occasion anymore, because lovemaking is so personal and emotional that it would be disrespectful to sex if I wore my sex clothes for any occasion other than passionate, loving, spiritual sex.

It also confuses me that she chose the doll to slap on the bodice instead of something else like a manga cover or leaving it plain. The doll is the most hated part of the print amongst my comm and several other lolitas I know online think it’s creepy too. Plain honestly would’ve been the best choice here, but everything about this release was bungled from not having a jsk in the first place, forcing people to buy pieces from the same collection twice, to only having poorly made looking hair accessories which were up for preorder for less than 48 hrs.

I agree you'll need something to hold it up, if you have no hips/ass to help. You can buy suspenders in white so they're disguised under your clothes but it might not be the most comfortable thing

A couple things you could try besides suspenders
>wearing a tank top under your clothes, so the petti's waistband has more to grip against
>wearing a tanktop and safety pinning the petti to it to hold it up
>fold the petti waistband into your bloomer/undies waistband (may not help in the case of really stretchy bloomers or a super heavy petti)
>fold the petti waistband into the top of your tights (I do this for a couple underskirts that are too big on me)
