Nah. AP doesn't give a shit and hasn't for years. This is why the Bears are fucked in the first place. They already know they can get away with cheap polyester sack dresses so why bother fixing this shitty bear? Besides, return policies aren't really a thing in Japan anyway. APfags are fucked.

>I'm glad I didn't drop $145 for such a fucked up bear lol

Girl, same.

I was seriously considering it because I don't own any plush bags. If I was going to buy one, I'd want it to be some sort of "special" bag like a limited release. But $145 is way too much for a fucking plush toy with a zipper pocket, let alone if it's going to be all fucked up.

People are better off buying a used kumya or something off of fril or LM than trusting AP lately it seems.

I do wonder how refunds may work since it's the US store and there is a huge problem with defective bears. Japan has a no refund culture but a factory defect will probably mean that the US store will get pressured into refunds if people complain.

How is something that was released over a decade ago relevant to today's market?

AP only cares about what Japanese lolitas want. If no Japanese lolitas are asking for rereleases, then we won't get a rerelease. AP has done rereleases for all 3 prints you mentioned, as far as they know/are concerned, their market is satisfied and they go on to focus on new releases.

Feels like you're just trying to gaslight anon. You sound like a troll.

Even a few years ago, Sugary Carnival was always the first dress to go on CC updates. And most secondhand dresses were in horrible condition because of how popular SC was in its day and because of how much it was worn by everyone. Even when there were opportunities to buy the dress, people probably passed it up in hopes of finding a better condition one. (Because please don't tell me as a "real lolita" you buy every dress as soon as it pops up, even with missing waist ties and torn hem lace).

It's not far fetched at all that a lot of people came into the fashion after the rerelease (which was much closer in time to the first release than to 2020). Also it's not like everyone has their list of dress to buy 100% figured out at day one. I used to hate Sugary Carnival, but the more I grew into sweet, the more I liked it, so it became part of my wardrobe later. All these same things apply to Milky Planet.

Come at me all you want. I'm the person who bought the Melty Ice-kun listing. I'm almost the complete opposite of a taobao ita who cries about secondhand. I'm probably contributing to high prices.

I was just defending the other anon who didn't have SC or Milky Planet/wanted a rerelease. There's tons of reasons why they could be into the fashion for years but still not have those prints. I went for them last because my tastes changed, and I knew how crappy and beat up they were from 10+ years of people wearing them, so I waited for better condition items. I passed up tons of listings. I'm not arguing that there wasn't opportunity.

Poly isn’t that bad, and AP still has a leg up on construction than most taobao brands. I like that poly is easy to store and wrinkles less. The problem with AP right now is just ugly designs and a lack of focus on details.

If Btssb had that many issues I am sure gulls would have posted about it. Kumya's lace around the head was sewn on really wonk and crooked and I swear she has two left arms, one of them was sewn incredibly off where it looks like it was rotated almost upside down. My Milky Bears aren't as nice as my older ones, but I was lucky that their stars were upright (although I think the anti star is incredibly cute) and no wings/limb issues.

Dress wise, I guess I got lucky and all the AP/BABY I bought had no issues with either brand recently. I will say AP's recent accessories have been pretty shoddy, namely their necklaces, some of their KCs and wrist cuffs. I've gotten necklaces with cracks or tons of scratches, KCs that are sewn crooked, lop sided, or creased in ways you can't remove, and wrist cuffs that look a mess. I'm pretty done with their accessories until they start using a new factory because it's kind of embarrassing how the quality dipped so drastically.

The poly taking up less space is valid to some degree, but even between cotton AP dress I own they all take up different amounts of space and have different fabric weights. Little Bears Cafe is hella thick/hearty textured cotton, Cotton Candy Shop and original cotton HC are much thinner lighter cotton, Lyrical Party JSK is somewhere in between. Making dresses more like a light one like CCS with no inbuilt petti can take up way less space than other cotton dresses without having to use polyester. As for the wrinkling debate, it is really not that hard to keep cotton clothes from being horribly wrinkled, and there are ways for brands to if they wanted to, to incorporate anti-wrinkle coatings for their cotton pieces. I wish AP would raise their prices. I know they went up a little but after over a decade of buying AP it makes me sad they won't increase. Not only do they deserve more money (especially considering inflation) but also if it would mean nicer quality items it would be 100% worth it. I would happily pay $400+ a dress if it meant the quality was on pair with their older work.

I own the original cotton Honey Cake and bought the MTO. After holding on to the MTO for months I had to finally sell because the quality in comparison was just so bad. Every time I tried it on it felt so lifeless and sad. It's nice they had a bigger size for those who need it but the construction felt so cheap and the fabric in comparison is awful. (Funnily enough the new pancake bag and accessories are better quality than the old ones, but that was the only plus of the MTO.)

I also feel like their newer cotton prints are too thin? They are more like BABY now, a limp and droopy kind of cotton, but even a bit thinner than BABY. Most of my wardrobe is from 2008-2014 and the quality difference is crazy. Handling older cotton dresses feels so nice, they have a good weight but aren't bulky. The fabric just feels really nice and sturdy. I feel like even the fit is better, as newer cotton (and poly) dresses sort of show too much of the texture underneath and sit in a slightly different way.

>>10513202
Agreed, CCS takes up less space than Little Witch. Hell, it takes up as much space as some of my chiffon dresses like petite patisserie and MCD. I think the space thing is an excuse as they could just do partial-petti free/unlined dresses out of cotton, it 90% is because poly dresses are cheaper to produce and 10% easier to wash. All of my older cotton dresses never have issues wrinkling, neither worn nor stored, so if you hang them in a closet that is not over stuffed wrinkles are no problem.

Maybe not for cheaper items like jewelry which even poorer people can afford regularly new and increases the competition, but for main pieces at least the higher price point would also mean slightly less of a bloodbath. I guess I may support price increase because that may also mean they might be doing more hyped poly MTOs in order to fund the more expensive stuff.

Another Lyrical pouch MTO with messed up ears, this time the pink and sax. At first I thought maybe Japanese lolitas were just selling the crap quality ones, but now I'm sure we're all just fucked.

They already mentioned, they want proof of the price claims, since anon above said the dresses go for above retail. That implies listings existed even if not a lot, and that they were sold for above retail prices which could be proven.

It's 100% true and I say this as someone who has entirely cotton dresses except for two.
