As far as kickstarter bags go, it seems pretty cute, though I'm not sure how many characters will fit it theme wise.

SV anon here! I haven't revamped my SV bag yet (still waiting for my official merch, the jade pendant just shipped to my proxy!) but I brought all my Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen merch with me into lockdown at my family so I could finally work on my MDZS bags! One down, one to go (JGY-centric this time).

That's just how it turns out because they'll put lots of character names in the description. One thing that helps is doing JUST the character name (in kanji/kana) and words like "set" (セット) or "goods" (グッズ), but even then you'll end up with some mixed lots showing up. Mixed ones sometimes are the best deals, though.

I would use it. I've almost reached the point to have enough merch for two bags, so something like this would work just as well. You don't need to swap out the pins, just the inserts.

besides, while a lot of the window options are superfluous, an option with all the basics (circle, heart and star) is kinda nice. even some of the extra ones like the bow and cat face are not bad.

Semi-related but my cat knocked one of my limited event acrylic stands off my desk and now there's a small crack right over my husbando's head. Should've put it somewhere else. Sucks I'll have to pay for another one but the temptation to have a spotless collection is too hard to resist.

I've also been working on a shrine for local villain characters, though my progress for this is even slower because all these people have a terrible capacity to estimate how much merch they need to produce. Yeah it was a friend of a friend, and in black and white so I don't understand why you think that price is too low? The buttons I ordered online you could just upload any image you wanted and print a button, similar to Redbubble... which I did using the $95+ art I commissioned of my character. And yes I tipped. But like I said the website got shut down, probably due to some copyright infringement. If you have art of your character already I wouldn't really consider that to factor into the cost of the itabag itself which is why I quoted it at ~$100.

I had an issue with my bank account being locked one time and wasn’t able to pay them by the 7 day deadline. They were very understanding and kind. They’re typically cut out from clear files. You can also look into custom printing, either on fabric or on harder material (card stock?) depending on if the image is going to be in the background or foreground, or the design you’re going for.

I normally just used some thin plastic covered in fabric but behind the windows in my actual bag is a free for all or i use 1000 little pouches and makeup bags but i feel crazy.

For me, itabagging is like a branch off of collecting like collecting stamps, collecting stickers, etc. so for me, it’s more of a hobby than like a project or a task that you have to complete. Maybe it’s a shit example but I’m thinking like uh when you’re moving or wanting to change around the house and you either:

1, have joy in picking and choosing which type of furniture or wall color and so on that you want until the finished product is complete. Usually someone isn’t going to keep it on the mind or make changing around the house a hobby. Or keeping with the theme of houses:

2, you found like some DIY method for shelving or something and it involves woodworking but it’s not like you’re 100% likely going to develop or pursue a hobby of woodworking after finishing up. Or if you want to paint a couple of DIY products for your house but it doesn’t 100% mean that you’ll start painting as a hobby or pursuing more DIY projects immediately but everyone is different and take different times to get interested.

I'm the long time fav type. I've always liked collecting things, and I've been collecting general anime merch for nearly 10 years now. I had character themed collections before itabags were a trend, I just love having things with my favorite characters on them. Seeing a wall of my fav's face awakens some primal part of my brain. Just practice friend. If I'm working on an especially large bag or surface, I may take a ruler and washable pencil and very faintly draw a guide line. I've used plastic grids as my inserts in the past and I'll count the squares for each button. You can also do a basting stitch as a guide.

Rather than pinning from the front (what you've been doing), take your insert or inside of the bag or wherever and stab the pin there/ have your pin on the inside of the bag. A tiny piece of pin would be visible on the front (what pierced through) and you attach charms to that.
