I love them too, but I have had a question about Antique Beast. I've been hesitant to ask her directly because of the language barrier. My waist is not small enough for many pieces I like. The website FAQs say she does plus/minus 5 cm, but I need up to +10. Do you or anyone know if she accepts orders with that much change?

The sizing runs large in my experience. I ordered an OP with 90cm bust and 70cm waist, and it was more like 94 and 74. I ordered a 68cm waist on a skirt and it arrived with a 71cm waist. I recommend ordering a couple of cm under your actual measurements if you want it to fit well, just based on my experiences. And keep in mind she can make the shoulders wider and the skirt length longer as well.

My Moitie apparel lucky pack arrived today. Contents were: white Juliet OP (not sure if long or short, want to do a reveal video so waiting to fully look...looked at all because I wanted to order another top and wanted to know what color lucky pack top I got), black cardigan with blue logo, makeup bag, and Noctural Romance tights in white. I fit their size 9, but ordered 11 because I thought it would be less competition and I don't mind taking a dress in. Pretty happy with this result as I have no solid white dresses and have wanted one for some time!

Most Shopping Services do Bank transfer? The only services who might have issues with bank transfer are the ones run by foreigners who don’t have a Japanese bank account. Try upwards to $100 if your currency isn't in USD. Like I said I like Tenshi but every item I've bought with her I wound up having $80-100 extra in fees. The way she converts currency is whack and the other fees really add up. I've never had her have issues getting anything even if she responds like the next day my time (different time zone so I understand). I tried Muuh once and Muuh was so slow I missed the item. The next time I tried Tenshi and she got it right away (it was the same exact item both times).

There are only a couple times when things are ridiculous/insane deals that I'm not able to get them with Tenshi, or when the seller already has comments on a listing and I didn't check before sending the link. Like twice it's happened.

I can’t remember how high is was, but it is definitely higher than that when your currency isn’t USD. All the extra fees were so high with her, that the item in the end became quite expensive. She also didn’t really stand out in speed either, so I rather use my Japanese one. For instore shopping other Shopping Services are also more convenient, because of her location. I have the feeling their silver jewelry might come from the same company as KAMIJO’s jewelry brand Symphony of the Vampire, or at least the recent ones based on the coffin boxes in which they are stored. I ordered a blouse back in March, my ss received it at the start of June, and I just received it in the mail (EMS) a week or two ago. The blouse seemed to be ready stock, it's a very simple design made of tulle so I can't say much on construction quality for other items, but the ribbon belt that came with it (which I think was a freebie) came broken, the jewel fell off, but that was an easy fix. I got what I paid for basically. I really wanted the blouse and I'm a really patient person so it was worth it for me, but if long wait times bother you I'd suggest against it, as I never got an update on the status of my items.

I had actually bought the hair to make the ponytails before Kaiser made her post haha. I do like her though! I agree that maybe I used a bit too much hair. I was kind of running into a problem where you could see the netting of the ponytail and I figured that I should keep adding more hair to try and cover it, but I guess that just created another problem. I’m gonna try removing some hair and see if maybe I can cover up the netting another way.

If they look kinda sloppy that’s probably because of the style of the twists. They’re passion twists so they’re designed to look pretty messy on purpose! I like the style but I can see that they might not be for everyone. I’ll tinker with them a bit more to try and improve the look.

And I do agree about the waist ribbon now that I look at the coord, maybe a smaller one would have been better? Or maybe white lace belt Andrea wears often would work well

To be honest, to me it looks like an intentional design choice on Sheglit's part, since the black serging helps the ruffles stand out against the rest of the dress. I think it's a handsome contrast. Sheglit's made non-serged ruffle hems in other pieces, so it depends on the item I would guess.

Is it not a rolled hem? They used to be used only for lettuce hems because of the extreme curved edges but folks have been using them as design elements for a while now.

Mind you, if I got a skirt where the bottom was hemmed with it I'd still think it was cheap, but with the sheglit dress in >>10454276 the skirt hem is still properly folded over. It's just a different technique rather than throwing some lace on it, I can get behind having some variety in different finishes.

Chiffon is almost always done with a rolled hem. That said, a proper rolled hem is so small and close to the bottom, you don't really see it.

But if it's comparing serged hems to folded hems, I do think that the folded ones look better. Especially when the thread used for serging is a few tones off from the fabric itself.

I'm a religious non-Christian and found all the crosses really off-putting for a long time; for me they were symbols of Christian beliefs, which while I don't personally believe in, I respected.

Like all religions, there are good and bad parts of them. Christianity is a big source of inspo in the art and literature world, so it really is beyond the religion itself now. Esepcially in a western context. Which in turn is a big inspo for lolita, and a big inspo for goth.

Do other people relate to being turned off by the current EGL/EGA community ? I personally feel like we peaked fashion wise in early MmM. I find it depressing how everyone cherishes the same dresses, how it turned from high quality fabrics that could be worn in everyday wear in an eccentric way to like.. some caricatural dresses with prints that border on bad taste. Less is more in my opinion. Also the fact that everyone kinda wants to look the same (same hair, same accessories, same tights with the same dresses) and criticize people that don't wear blouses or don't follow their exact conventions of a "functioning coord" makes everybody look the same and.. sort of boring to be honest. It kinda defeats the meaning of individuality in alternative fashion lol. I also personally dislike the obvious synthetic wigs in unnatural colors, and feel like some it defeats my personal ideal view of the fashion of looking like a sort of modern day everyday anachronic and introspective aristocrat, as a genuine way of expression, not as some caricature or as a costume/cosplay. I don't mind people going for that look, and I'm not saying wearing a synthetic wig automatically makes it look costumey to everyone, I just wish I'd see more people that view the EGA fashion in the same way that I do. I almost saw early MmM as a reinterpretation of classic 50's fashion and religious fashion with a gothic twist. Which is really beautiful to me.

I feel like Mana in the Magnifique photoshoots captures exactly what I love about that old school look, and even in his everyday in the late 90's, regardless of if he was wearing makeup or not, he always remained with that touch of class that really made it feel like, what he wanted to project is some sort of permanent elegance. Which I found quite admirable when I was growing up. I also wish I'd see more individuality and people experimenting with thrifted pieces or different materials/designers, instead of just striving towards the same outfits/accessories that at least 5 other people have worn better than them in the past lol. Also I don't feel like the recent offerings of MmM itself are that good, but I personally believe it was to meet the ideals of the lolita community, since those print dresses do sell well lol. I'm not mad, and I actually like lolita. I've been checking lolita related content creators for more than a decade. But it's the fact that a lot of y'all publicly disapprove/judge of anything that's slightly not on your constructed realm of what's right, and refrain people from taking risks. There's a difference between things that are related to the religion just because it was in power at the time vs. wearing the actual symbol of the religion. A lot of old churches are basically museums now. I would visit an old cathedral to see the historical art and architecture, but I wouldn't wear a cross around my neck because that indicates you have been baptized and are one of them. Same way, I wouldn't mind wearing something like architecture-focused or a stained glass print where you can't really even tell from afar who is depicted. You don't have to be Christian to get put in a coffin and buried, so all that is fair game too. But I'm not going to put on a nun dress, wear a cross on my chest, or have a portrait of Mary on me.

When we tried to bury my grandfather we found he was never baptized so the church refused to bury him. however if someone has not had last rites the church can and has done the same to them. We ended up giving him a Taoist funeral which gave my family peace, but yes, it's a headache trying to get a church burial if you're not fully with the church.
