Based on some posts I've seen in cgl (including the last thread)

Is it normal in the jfashion community to assume most tall people cant dress themselves because they struggle to find resources and brands that work with them?

For the JSK t oddly enough doesn't go for a ton in general over the years despite being super cute. The most popular colors seem to be anything but black and it goes for $100-150 at the least these days but more if you've got set pieces. It's also a super heavy winter type fabric for AP so I wonder if how warm it is has anything to do with that.

Not really? The main problem with tall lolitas is that dresses are too short on them but they refuse to wear underskirts or tights to help with that, and end up looking inappropriate/ddlg

>> No.10437447

>>10437436

Underskirts frequently look like shit with certain dresses so long bloomers or tights would probably be better.

>> No.10437455

>>10437436
Like the other anon said, underskirts look like shit more often than not (especially with prints, longer underskirts, and ap)
And knowing a tallita, her problem isn't simply skirt length, but other parts of the garment's measurements as well. If an underskirt magically solved everything, we'd see much more tall people in the fashion.

has anyone's wunderwelt order shipped yet? I placed on order five days before japan stopped shipping to the US, but they didn't get it out in time. Um... did you misunderstand the situation?

Unless you request that WW ships your order with Yamato, they are going to keep holding your order into infinity. Japan Post is still not shipping to many countries. And if you're in the US, you're probably not going to get your items for months. I would highly suggest just paying for Yamato. It's fast, and you don't want to be part of the insane rush when shipping opens again to the US for Japan Post. Spend a bit more money in order to save yourself frustration. It's always worth it.

For western oldschoolers especially, a good chunk of them shop secondhand, it's still cheaper than buying firsthand even if you're after not-unpopoular pieces. I wouldn't bother comparing them to Baby's classic line, I don't think western oldschoolers are the ones buying those, so nevermind buying new stuff from MAM either.

For the sweet side, they just can't quite match up to AP. On closeup the artwork, the lace, the details are just lagging so far behind, it's no surprise why girls chose the brand with better detailing.

I have no answer for why the plus size girls don't buy MAM and instead squeeze themselves into smaller brands, though.

That might not help depending on the type of crown but if you go to a hairdressers supply shop they will probably carry extra large bobby pins that are thicker than the regular kind and are about 7-8 cm long. A lot of lolita bfs go this route, but I personally think it looks ugly as hell and just accentuates the neckbeard features of most of them, especially as most straight men have no idea how to buy a waistcoat or pants that fit (not your bf of course, anon). Stuff like >>10439696 and >>10439697 is better — just wear stylish clothes that fit and try to coordinate colors and themes if you want to match. Underwear (not even bras but actual underwear on your butt and privates) is the one thing most people will forever buy new or make themselves while buying other clothes secondhand? It's extremely uncommon to buy it used and even goodwill where I live sells mostly only bras (sports bras especially) and only sell underwear that is swimsuit bottoms.

Given the right stain removing techniques, you would never know the difference if someone had shat in the bloomers you're buying. I genuinely don't see the issue here?

It's bait because any normal human would trest this like any other clothing item and just wash the item with bleach or whatever the appropriate stain remover is. Most laundry questions asked on this board that are unrelated to dyes running in the wash usually seem like bait desu. Probably because a lot of them are "help me get the cum out of my sugary carnival!!1", "how do I remove period blood from a headbow?!", and "what's the best brand of bleach for cleaning explosive diarrhea out of my bloomers??"

The exact type of shit male fetishists and autogynephiles and other gross kinksters want to ask to make women uncomfortable and force their sexual degeneracy onto them with. Lolita clothing isn't made out of some magical fabric that behaves differently than other fabric. It's just got prints or lace or whatever. You can easy Google laundering instructions for basic things not directly related to the garment. Being lolita and people who don't are trolls, gross perverts, or just dumb and know nothing about laundry.

Oh yeah and the fact that the same comment was posted to 3 or more different threads is honestly the giveaway it's trolling/spamming/bait.

Those who make fun of people because of their culture are not the same ones who are genuinely interested in that culture, and enjoy the nice things it has to offer (e.g. weeb shit, j fashion). Generalising it to 'non-Asian people shouldn't wear qi/wa lolita' doesn't help anyone, it alienates you from allies and honestly is kinda racist in itself: The world isn't getting anywhere if we all keep to our own cultures, and excluding people outside of a culture from completely harmless stuff like its fashion is actively working against spreading a positive image and relatability about that culture. That doesn't sound right to me. You have a source for this? I learned in college that Shintoism as a concept didn't emerge until the Meiji period as a way to secure the power of the emperor away from the Shogunate. (There was always Japanese folk religion but no one called it Shinto)

actually, miko existed in pre-unified shinto and in pre shinto as oracles and shaman. shinto as a concept existed well before the restoration. early shinto miko were pretty important but like most oracles or shaman, they were generally assumed to be mentally ill by today's definitions. in the earlier periods they were the most important religious person but became less so as time went on. after shintoism evplved they basically married the priest and had sex with him as part of the rituals. anything related to the miko having power stopped due to the restoration itself. i learned all of this in my own college classes but i didn't live in the west so maybe we were taught differently? i know that pre restoration shinto has another name but it's still the same as shinto, especially since shinto now was mixed with buddhism.

Most of Meta's leeway is towards being fatter, not taller. I have a couple of Meta jsks, and while the waist does seem to hit a little bit lower than normal-waist AP, it's only less than inch or so, and at the same time the armhole sits rather low, so it's not like you can adjust the straps much more without making the top look funny. But now I just got this letter from them saying I have to pay $20.75 out of nowhere??? Is this right? I don't want to get scammed and have them repeat this shit down the line.

Some Mercari sellers refuse shopping services outright or need you to talk with them before you can purchase any item (and some services won't do that), so that may stop Buyee from buying certain items. With a looser cardigan, maybe? A lolita bolero wouldn't work because it's explicitly cut to accommodate a dress that flares out at the waist. Consider wearing a different bra, for example something like a balconette that will push your breasts up rather than separate them.

Has anyone ever had experience asking SS to request that scalpers (like people charging well over 2 or 3x item amount on fril) lower their prices a little? Not even to normal price but maybe like from 3x price new to 2x the price new?

Would SS like Muuh or Tenshi or Mint be willing to do that or not because they don't want to be rude?

>> No.10443905

>>10443895
Asking a seller to lower the price on something could get the SS blocked from future sales, or worse, a seller could report them for being proxies and get their account banned. You're gonna be hard-pressed to get SS to compromise their accounts just to save you a thousand yen.

Most won't do it unless the seller specifically states price negotiations are ok.

>> No.10443917

>>10443905

Oh it is far more than a thousand yen. The item is a single pair of wristcuffs scalped for like $150USD and I was gonna request the price be lowered to closer to $100USD.

Like it's extreme price gouging so I was hoping the seller might be willing to shave some off and still make a huge profit from the sale? Maybe I am being too optimistic. If they're shitty enough to scalp stuff like that they probably have no interest in negotiating.

>> No.10443925

>>10443917
In my experience, the people who know they are scalping are even less likely to lower their prices. Their goal is to get as much money as possible and they know someone will be desperate enough to pay.

Most SS won't feel comfortable asking a seller to lower something more than $10-20. And if it's a newly listed item, they probably won't want to haggle at all.

>> No.10443933

>>10443925

Ahh, I understand. It's only been up since the AP Japan lyrical headbow and wristcuff release so they probably aren't ready to give in and lower a price anytime soon.

You ask this as if I have enough self control to not just buy both.

The only reason I'd still buy the cuter but ill-fitting dress is I'm able to alter dresses on my own, and also know where to find seamstresses if it's out of my depth. ayrt here. It's just a smaller degree of the same thing. The dress that fits will still be much easier to work with and look cuter in.

I own a few high-waisted dresses and they all work with a specific cut of IW bolero plus a certain petticoat cut. There's some variety in swapping out the colours of IW boleros, but it's not nearly as versatile as the jsks that actually fit, which I can wear over, under a blouse/cardi/bolero/other, with different poof level/underskirts, and this leads to a lot more combinations of coords being possible.

So, still, the dress that fits you is just worth many more versatile coords.

Buy the other, cuter one if you just love it that much and are okay with the limitations. I mean, I can only wear my high-waist dresses one way, but I still pretty much love them, but at the same time I avoid any other high-waisted dresses because they just don't look good as easily as the just-waist dresses do. Hope this makes sense?

Does anyone have Sugar Candy Shop? I’m afraid I might have gotten a replica. The print is cutoff short at the very bottom—it’s actually not cutoff but the fabric is folded over for the seam, when you flip the fabric over you see the rest of the print.

The drippy apron is a mirror image of the ones I’ve seen in photos.

The ice cream lace looks good. If it’s a replica, would they have put in work to make the ice cream lace or would they have just used generic lace that looks similar?

I wondered if it’s a sample, but the care tag doesn’t say it’s a sample. Can anyone post the care tag if they have it?
