What's up with the hate meta gets around here?
Sometimes theyre a bit weird, yeah, but honestly I think they're one of the best brands out there.
They experiment more than baby or AP seem to do and, sure, their experiments sometimes fail but it seems when they pay off, they really pay off.
They also consistently have better collabs than other brands. As bad as the Toy Story Alien's dress was, it was down to the color choice and was no where near as bad as the Jessie sallopette from AP.

I think it’s because so many itas tend to be drawn to their train wreck dresses like the aforementioned toy story dress and also their wa dresses. When you see the brand so consistently ita’d, you tend to like the brand less. Plus I don’t see a lot of really good meta coords on COF or Instagram. People tend to post higher status pieces and Meta has always been so accessible that their stuff isn’t as coveted. And when you rarely see good coords of a brand posted, you start to think it’s the brand and not the wearers. Dunno, just my thoughts on it, I love meta

I need advice! I pre-ordered an item from a Western Indie designer in May. At the time, the listing did not have a release date, but I wasn't worried about it.

As it started getting closer to July, I got more curious but hadn't seen any updates. I emailed the shop owner a week ago, including my confirmation email, asking when the estimated release date would be. I haven't received a response.

I know things are crazy with the pandemic, and I really don't want to come off as a Karen. I have waited months for pre-ordered items before, so that is not the issue. I am certain my order will be fulfilled. I am just curious when I can look forward to receiving my item.

>> No.10426680

>>10426668
AP already doesn't really "listen" to their customers, because they don't have to. Whatever AP puts out, people will buy. You have to gain a lot of voices for a brand to listen. It's not just as simple as someone mentioning it in one interview. I used the word "naive" because the obvious answer to anon's question is "No."

Also the request specifically for Chick-Chan is painfully specific. It comes across as item-seeking and needy. A better question would be "Will AP release more varieties of plush bags in the future?" .. or if you really want to add substance, something like "Chick-Chan is very popular in the west. Do the creators know they unintentionally created a cult-following for such a small character?" But even that last question is kind of off topic. It might have been a better question for them around the time of Fruity Lemon's release.

We did once with Honey Cake tho. I just feel anon needs to go global. Make a list of actually popular stuff (look over DD thread, also I guess there was Rufflechat thread too), pick favorites, do petitions/polls, mail those tho AP. Let them see there's numerous demand for things. I believe people would vote for Chick-chan to be back.

Also to add my five cents in, I'd like to see these chocolate bois again, and I bet release would be popular. I remember brand new plush going sold out for 30500 yen (sic!!) on fril. Although that fur fabric seems pretty specific, it might be difficult to find another stock years ago.

I am HC petition anon, but I never want to make another petiton ever again.

I agree with the majority that the Honey Cake petition was indeed a disaster. When I made the petition I did not anticipate that AP were going to change the release so dramatically with sizing and fabric and ultimately suffered the consequences. I do not want to be the cause of another dress's downfall. If I had the support I would consider making another petition for say Jewellery Jelly or Sugary Carnival, but after Honey Cake I'm more apprehensive. I did try to make a Melty Ribbon Chocolate petition in the collar jsk cut because AP made it in the Royal Chocolate cuts, but it was posted directly to cgl in a BTB thread.

Also, it wasn't me resharing the petition, I only sent to friends who reposted on my behalf and posted to Amino which I am not a part of anymore. I've been keeping quiet and removed myself from SM since the petition incident, but since I was mentioned I felt the need to come forward.

I'm also the anon who offered to request prints at the TP this weekend because I'm looking at a different approach to get the dresses we want. I wrote down everybody's suggestions to appeal directly so that the same mistake isnt made again.

A while ago, Angelic Pretty rereleased Melty Ribbon Chocolate because I think it was heavily requested at Tekko, but they got confused and released it in the Melty Royal Chocolate cuts instead of the collar JSK that was super popular. I remember it took ages to sell out, AP must've been so confused because they described it as a "heavily requested" print. I made a petition to rerelease the collar JSK in both M and L and posted it to Amino. It was taken down in seconds and only seen by 3 people, but one of those three saw it and reported to a BTB thread that I had made a petition for "melty chocolate". I think the thread got pushed off the board so it wasn't on long, but long enough that I saw it as well as insults regarding Honey Cake.

Also I wanted to add - Toy Fantasy was rereleased as an MTO last year and it was great to see...but the most exclusive thing ever. It’s bizarre. They do location-specific releases, knowing full well the store is just gonna get clogged up with SS orders. I get up at 4am so I beat most Americans to get SS spots so I’m usually ok, but it’s ridiculous nonetheless. Why does the first thing I do In the morning have to be checking for surprise release announcements? Maybe this is a cultural thing we’re not understanding. But I’m starting to suspect it’s like what you said, so the demand is easier for them to deal with. What's sad is all the times I've tried to take a break from checking my phone, I've been more upset afterwards that I missed things.

It's funny that our schedule is almost opposite. I live in PST, so I stay up late to catch the releases/listings. I beat the EST lolitas if I stay up late enough. I get about 4 hours of sleep right now during the pandemic and I have a full-time job. I'm destroying myself, I swear.

Not missing out and feeling one step ahead at all times to avoid "losing" to others, getting something someone else *might* want and feeling superior over that possibility, feeling like a winner who owns something desirable, something worth being admired for.. despite no one but yourselves taking notice of you owning it or only a selected few on social media who mostly won't care about the item(s).

They didn't get confused. Jaquard is expensive to make, so instead of making one dress in two sizes again, they combined what they thought would be a more appealing cut to the Chinese market and only make one smaller size. More bang for the buck in their mind. The larger size and and flatering cut went over their head because they're not trying to cater to the western market. The epacket situation is stressful because both items are moitie. Only one can be replaced as it is a WW order, the other CC order is a skirt that cannot be replaced, definitely not for the price I paid. I'm trying to have faith too but my CC epacket was also shipped on April 21, left Japan June 3, and has never updated since because like other anons said, CanadaPost is useless. I'm 90% sure at this point that one or both of the epackets have been stolen, the new post delivery people rarely ring the doorbell and just leave it on my porch. I've only known when my ems packages have arrived because of the email delivery notices, but I can't do that with epacket. It's so stressful, they used to just put my small epackets in my mail box or a slip on my door if I wasn't home, but they've just been tossing it on my porch, even though they know my street has a bad problem with mail/package theft (the community mailbox has been torn open a couple times since quarantine). Also, if the packages are lost or stolen, there's nothing you can do because CanadaPost refuses to take any responsibility. I've had things stolen on their end before, holes through Canadian customs tape with some big items missing from the package, and even with proof they do not care.

It was a Jesus Diamante dress, I'm not a gal and it's not suitable for lolita but it has a nice gaudy angel print.

Yo this confused me, I think I never realized before there was a melty ribbon chocolate AND a melty Royal chocolate and that the fabric was slightly different. with the ribbon detail in the jacquard. I was so confused last year when the rerelease came out and I didn’t get why people weren’t happy because I thought the two were always the same dress. My mind is blown. Thanks anon for clearing that up for me

The knock on door and leave it is Canada Post's new policy during Covid unfortunately. Its to minimize human contact as much as possible. They mention it on the website. At least my EMS packages are left my building's parcel locker, but everything else is left by the door. Nothing goes to the post office it seems. Both myself and my across-the-hall neighbor had stuff disappear before so I eat the cost and ship everything via EMS.

I hope the thief enjoyed my Larme magazine they took.

If you really wanted to support IW, buy from them through a SS.

There’s Melty Whip Chocolate having some whipped stuff on it tho. Idk if I have a favorite among these patterns, they look pretty samey from aside. Back then I’ve been even thinking about opting to MWC since MRC is so hard to get.
Basically, when I saw last years released I suspected them going with simpler cut (and no berets, hnnng) to cut some costs, plus it seemed like fitting this “adult-like clothes” concept.

This is the punishment I get for putting it off for so long. I hope they pull through this rut, or at the very least, are able to rise from the ashes as a better version of their current selves..

Speaking of IW, apparently the AW collection is going to be the culmination of 22 years of experience so maybe that’ll save them (despite the disappointment that was SS, my hopes are shamelessly high)

I just want some knee-length cotton. Hell I’ll settle for tea-length cotton if I like the cut. Just no more poly solids, please!

People like this are a so dense. It's a business, they are having financial issues not emotional ones. This kind of "motivation" is completely useless, they can't pay production and employees with your pictures.

What does this even mean though? Isn’t everything new that someone makes the new culmination of their experience, provided they aren’t getting worse?

It's sort of both. I can't find the original, but they've made a dress with those exact poodles on it before. They're on a different background here to sort of make a new print. This is what they're doing with most of their "new" print releases, re-using old art.

On top of that, I'm willing to bet most of the girls who will post pictures bought their IW stuff secondhand so IW has never seen a dime of their money.

The pandemic somehow made them even worse, which I didn't even know was possible. Like they have a warning on their site not to call about packages, because "they don't know where they are due to the pandemic", but it's not like they ever helped with packages via phone anyways lol.
>>10428195
I understand that but they're not even knocking or ringing the doorbell, which is the problem. They're not even leaving a slip so that I know that something was delivered (I'm home all day), so I can't even tell if it's still in limbo, lost, or stolen. Even for EMS, the only way I know is because of the tracking email notification which has a slight delay sometimes. One of my packages was small & light and I didn't get the email right away, and the wind blew it to the end of my driveway. If I didn't happen to go out at that time it would have blown away and I never would have found it, there was no knock or ring. I 100% support strict covid restrictions, but this is just typical Canada Post shit. Also, I think they're just throwing the package on my porch too cuz my dog always cries if a human is on the porch.
That sucks to hear about your magazine, hopefully you have better luck with future packages!

i love iw and think they will survive but did anyone else see fujiwarasan post a weird tweet two days ago calling out people who dont wear lolita and saying they have bad taste and that she doesnt want to associate with them??? it was weird af and at least two japanese people replied to say it was rude basically, before she deleted the tweet. her tweets are usually so kind and positive that it made me wonder if shes under a lot of stress and things might be worse than i thought
