posting a review of this souffle song set i got because i wanted something cheap that i didn't love too much to wear outside of meets.

i got size m for both vest and shorts, my bwh are 89 76 97 with a measurement of 45 cm 2/3 of the way down my thigh.

fit: fairly comfy, the back shirring on the shorts is wide and pretty nice. good for sitting in, but the rustling of the fabric makes it distracting to walk in. 4/5

quality: the construction is decent, but the materials are ehh. the outer material is a really loud, rustly crepey synthetic with a little stretch. it looks good, but it doesn't feel great. the vest is lined with typical polyester satin lining but the shorts are unlined. the lace is a stiff synthetic venise lace that doesn't touch the skin. buttons are stud/jeans buttons that say "JEANS JEANS" on them, and hardware is properly installed. the topstiching and exposed serging (in the shorts) are neat and even. 2.5/5

price: cheap as hell. 5/5

over all, you get what you pay for, which isn't much. not going to wear this set to a nice tea party anytime soon, but i would wear it to a bar or bowling alley.

I really want to get more into boystyle but I'm an hourglass shaped US Size 10 in pants due to butt and thighs. I'm worried about not finding pants that'll fit since the sizes usually are for less curvy people.

Is there any hope? I've sort of stuck to lolita up until this point since dresses are more forgiving.

Also a good thing to remember is that if the pants looks too plain you can always jazz them up with some nice looking rick rack or lace. I find most brand bloomers anyway to be pretty plain unless they have some sort of print.

That’s not large stitching. The trim along the bottom also goes up the sides of the panels. The problem is that it makes the satin look like it’s puckering, which does not look good at all, as well as it being satin on satin. It’s not just the construction that’s problematic. It looks like a Milanoo tier attempt at ‘lolita’ dresses without a petti underneath. It looks like a tacky costume.

yes. ouji with skirts are usually worn over pants. sometimes a skirt or kilt can seem boystyle if it is styled in a traditionally masculine way, as in wa ouji that uses kimono. the key will be in your styling. to prevent looking like a steampunk, study jfash hair and makeup especially.

First of all not all ouji are women, there are plenty of men who wear this style too. Also it's the brother style to lolita, so yes it is inspired by historical mens wear just as lolita is inspired by historical womens wear. Compared to lolita though there arent as many shopping options for strictly ouji style things so its a lot more accepted to wear normie things (as long as they fit guide lines with the style) as ouji.

Start with a more minimal casual coord and build up complexity as you get comfortable with wearing it out. When i started in lolita I kept it to basics and added more loud accesories and prints once i got comfortable in it. Casual ouji doesn't draw as much attention as casual lolita in my experience. If you don't wear headwear it also draws less attention.
