SF here. The rioters and looters fucked off after Sunday. On Saturday there was low staffing of officers partly due to corona (one of city hall's bright ideas was to have less cops on the street during corona) so the looters got free reign. On Sunday all days off were cancelled, no weekends, until shit calms down. Usually they only have half the officers in at any one time There were a couple of groups of rioters but they got squashed quick. On Monday there was fucking nothing. There were some protesters past curfew but they dispersed or were arrested within an hour. I'm waiting for Friday/Saturday but for now all the rioters and looters are gone. The looters have moved on to raiding the suburbs. One car dealership in San Leandro lost about 50 cars to looters because they left all the keys onsite and the key box was broken into. Stonestown had a police presence guarding it as "the other SF shopping mall" which hasn't been looted yet.

The cops themselves only kind of care because some of them haven't had a day off since shit kicked off when they were supposed to be on their weekend. They're making overtime money for every day this goes on so they're going to be racking it up. City hall is kind of weird because anything coming out of their mouths is pure pandering to the crowd. Can someone explain to me why AX2021 ends on a Monday? They do this once in a while where the con bleeds into the weekend, 2017 ended on a Tuesday. What in the contract with LACC forces them to extend the con past the weekend? I don't live in California anymore so I guess now I'm just starting to be inconvenienced by it.
