For bags, these are all the methods I've seen

- Stack them on a shelf like >>10364760, you can double up like this pic if you have a lot of vertical space
- Hang them on hooks on walls, back of doors, or on a mounted shelf like >>10364762 (best method for tote bags)
- Hang them from back of doors on specialty hangers (pic incoming)
- Display them in cubes

Some non-lolita fashion bloggers I follow store their smaller bags within larger ones to save space. It's not my preference because I like to see everything at once or I
forget what I own.

Also, be careful of what you use as the hanging point. I used to hang by the handle but the seams got stressed and starting separating from the bag. If they have a longer strap, opt for that instead.

Next up, shoes! Shoes are a tough one for me. I organize mine in a color gradient to make it more visually pleasing.

- I'm partial to shoe racks like this >>10364760. You can get them in varying heights/customizable heights to fit in different sized closets. The downside is they're not great for boots or taller shoes.
- I stack taller shoes and boots neatly beside each other. I put pool noodles in them to give them a shape if they can't up by themselves
- Shoes can be placed in cubes or the lower parts of bookcases/shelving, but it takes discipline to remember to clean them
- I tried under the bed shoe containers when I had carpet but it was a pain to drag them out. I now have hardwood floors, so I plan to use this idea of drawers with casters and adjustable drawer dividers.
- A classic is a back of the door organizer. The ones with shoe pockets are good for just flat shoes. But there are some that are suitable for heeled shoes

I don't have anything specific for linen storage because I'm lucky enough to have a dedicated closet for it all.

I came up with a few ideas.
- If you get some under the bed containers that close (to keep dust out), under the bed is an option
- A trunk or suitcases. You can get some lovely vintage ones that you can repaint/line with fabrics to make more aesthetic. Certain trunks can be converted into benches/seats so it can double as a piece of furniture.
- Cubes can be used anything lol, pic somewhat related
- If you have space or an underused chest of drawers, you can store in there
- You can get an ottoman that opens up, you can burrito roll blankets and keep them in there
- A lot of the home decor magazines use woven baskets for blanket storage. They don't take up a lot of space

You, like my wonderful girlfriend have a problem. She tends to hoard stuffed animals because it makes her feel better about not having a pet.
I've been saving ideas for storage and put a no more plushies rule into effect (no more until we get a dog that is)

I liked this sort of storage, so I'll probably recreate it with cube shelves in the future for larger plushes and shelves like the last picture for smaller plushes. Your room looks tiny so look into under bed storage.

The people discussing people with high paying jobs in their comms are different too.

Like I mentioned people with decent income in my comm have MULTIPLE different kinds of jobs (tech, marketing, creative work that's higher paying like graphic design, influencers) and people instead focused only on comments discussing tech specifically as if that's the only non in which you can make a decent amount of money to be able to afford lolita.

Lolita isn't difficult to afford if you make more than minimum wage or have an average salaried job. Even something like administrative (secretary) work could make it easy to afford lolita. It's not a poor person's hobby (as much as people want it to be) but also not unfathomable for a woman to afford without being bankrolled by a wealthy man.

Get some bins and file fold shit and put those on the top shelf.

The soft hanging shelves are doing you no favors. It would be better to get something hard that you can put more file-folded bins in.

Get multi-hangers that you can hang several items of clothing from. They’re a lifesaver. There are different ones for shirts and pants/skirts. Real space saver.

I cannot recommend enough watching the Marie Kondo series on Netflix. I didn’t get rid of shit but properly folding and organizing my clothes and identifying my needs helped everything get so much better (ex: I bought a freestanding rack to hang some of my clothes on).

They have a hoarding problem, someone who loves their dresses wouldnt overcrowd them (throw them into a pile) like that.

If you love something, you don't treat the things you love by just hoarding them into some disgusting mass pile, regardless of whether they are stuffed animals, figurines, or dresses. That's poor care.

I have a 4 drawer chest and I had to swap out the slides because they are plain wood and they don't allow for full extension of drawers without tipping. The kotatsu I have is a bit better quality, heftier (though still particle board) with a nice finish. I got some of the plastic clothng chests and they are fine but a bit light. I also have that floor chair that is shaped like a bow and I love that. You can adjust it and the cover comes off for cleaning. There honestly aren't a lot of options for that kind of look though, especially at that price so if you're committed, just go for it. I've had my stuff for 6 or 7 years now and it has held up. you could blend jewel tones into the mori style, especially if you use ivory (or even dark natural wood) as a base instead of white. think of what elements you like- textures and styles can be palette swapped. maybe look at dark mori for inspiration?

I was hoping for an alternative desu. The drawer I had them in was too small so that's why they looked messy to me. Not a fan of her channel but I'll check it out.

I used a triple frame from ikea and glued ribbons on the back, it's where I put my hair clips, brooches and enamel pins! The frame itself is cute too, I'd take a picture if it didn't out me.

This is frustrating, I had plans to go out and look for an antique desk but I had to buy a way more expensive new one because I needed it for working from home.
It is not the worst part of this pandemic, but it sure it annoying.
It was my own fault for putting it off until February.

Same. My apartment is small so I'm trying to rework on how to make the furniture I already have prettier, but vanities are perfect for the lolita aesthetic.

>>10375278
I moved but then I realized that decoration a new furniture is pretty expensive. Hope that I can paint my stuff pink and make a couple diys so it doesn't look as bland.

This sounds really cute and useful!

My husband has supported me throughout our 11 year relationship. I'm pretty sure a man secure in his masculinity could not possibly care less about how his wife decorates the home too. I can understand if it's too cluttered but usually guys don't care.

I know a lot of girls have posted vanity's and usually they're victorian or baroque themed. I recently was checking vintage furniture themes and I'm surprised nobody seems to post art deco themed as they seem quite extravagant and beautiful if you have the space for them.

Honestly I dislike the design of art deco furniture. They remind of me of the older, more destroyed furniture in my grandmas house. I don't think they match my aesthetic either (sweet) but I think they suit classic and gothic.

Yeah I have seen a lot of damaged art deco furniture out there especially the mirrors unfortunately. It's also easier to find newer furniture modeled after the Victorian themes. Just thought to recommend for the classical girls out there if you can find one in good shape it's a work of art.

I got some of my furniture from the kid's section at Value City Furniture.
Console table house my tv and junk and it's the two drawer Brimnes from Ikea.
tfw single and only need a twin size bed...one of those white metal swirly frame ones from a garage sale.
Shabby Chic is a brand available at Target and they have super cute bedding.
Target also has really cute decor stuff. Ex. the bunny with fake plant, because my green thumb is broken and it's too cold in my house for most plants. It's sold out now I think and I got it on sale at my store.

while im sure theres plenty of dudes that object because they "secure in their masculinity" theres also some I think that object because they themselves have some idea on how theyd like to decorate, and what they think looks good. I know lots of men that have aesthetic opinions, and know how theyd like where they live to look.

this isn't display anon, this is rent-a-shed level storage. You can't even see the ones crushed down the bottom or at the back. Your "display" looks like shit and doesn't display much at all, defeating the purpose of displaying them.

You obviously don't won't to address the problem though, so I guess keep buying more nets until you have no room left and continue living in that hideous mess telling yourself it's because you love them all, and not because it's fulfilling some unaddressed need.

I actually had one growing up. It belonged to my great great grandmother. It's in very good shape too. It stayed with my grandpa (it was his grandmother's) when I moved out, although I'll be the one to inherit it. I miss it. It was very spacious- my current one is pretty but the mirror's much narrower and there's less vanitytop space.

That is cute!

I would warn that the Shabby Chic bedding does not last too long. I had a comforter and it got real sad, real fast. I might have washed it too often.

you know how people do coord/collage threads?
what if for the next thread we did that but with interior design pieces?
that way if anyone likes the little collage furniture and home living items we set out, we can easily share links with eachother.
