So, lolitas, how are you planning on spending this time indoors? Any personal projects or hobbies you're beginning? Ideas for virtual meets? Dressing up for your own personal tea? Or just finally decluttering that closet?

I'm debating making some cutely decorated cookies for my neighbors, with a nice handwritten note inside. Figured it would be a nice pick me up from all this social isolation. Plus the act of baking would be a nice way for me personally to decompress.

And yes, I would wash my hands thoroughly prior to baking and leave it on their doorsteps to prevent any germ-spreading (though that should go without saying).

I’m trying to use up as much of my fabric hoard as possible to make jsks, and then I’m gonna sell them for cheap! A lot of the fabric I have is beautiful but I’m leaning away from sweet, but I still have design ideas for it! Im trying to decide how to size them though. I think bustier girls would benefit the most from decent handmade so I might lean into that.

I've been in lockdown for two weeks now and slowly getting a bit of cabin fever, so I made myself an anti-insanity list of possible things to do.
Mostly drawing, painting and writing, along with more useful activities like cleaning and excercising at home. Reading books is also a good one but I've been too on edge to focus on a book for long.
Lolita-wise I feel like it's good for my mental health to still dress up in a nice but comfy coord every few days, it instantly makes me feel better to look put together. Lounging around in pyjamas or home wear all day is an easy trap to fall into, it can seem appealing but doing that for too long makes me feel like shit.

I get it anon. Especially hanging around on the couch in lolita feels a bit off. Do you have a balcony or backyard? Sitting outside reading in lolita feels a little like 'wearing it out' to me, more so than being inside all day anyway.
I don't know how strict the lockdown is where you live, but if you're allowed to then a great solution for me has been taking walks through the forest (parks are cool too if there's no forest nearby) decked out in lolita. It's calming to be outside and away from all the madness for a while, and wearing lolita in a forest kinda adds to the fairytale feeling to me.

I used to have no friends where I was (it was one year, I didn't feel like it, and between SAD and actual depression I didn't care) but I always tried to do cute things in lolita even if it was indoors. Last weekend felt about the same. We hung out on the balcony and enjoyed the view. I redecorate my room to be more lolita like and try to do calming activities like tea and blogging, it really makes me feel cuter that way. If you can do any of those would highly recommend.

Anon....that's not how this works. First of all, airports aren't closed to passengers at all, they just have enhanced precautionary measures. Second, even if they were closed to commercial passengers, they could still be used to transport goods. Transporting goods is considered an essential business and isn't shut down because there's no evidence to suggest that coronavirus survives on surfaces well. A lot of places, like Hawaii, also REQUIRE that goods be flown to them.

Even smoking cigarettes isn't entirely devastating to your lungs if you smoke them at the rate people smoke weed. One of the main reasons cigarettes are such a killer is that most smokers smoke a ton of them (like a pack a day) rather than just socially or occasionally.

Add to that that a marijuana joint has way fewer harmful chemicals than a cigarette and it's just not really a concern. Everything in moderation.

I somehow wasn't thinking about that angle, despite this being a covid thread. You're right, people probably shouldn't be smoking much of anything right now, just to be safe. Even anti-inflammatory medication has been shown to exacerbate the effects of the virus.

It really does impact everything we normally do, doesn't it.

Honestly for me, it's the same effects of edibles (different strain to strain as far as whether effects are mental/physical/both). It's just that I can easily control what level of inebriation I want to get to. To compare it to drinking, I can decide whether I want to get "tipsy" to fully fucked up based on how many hits I take, just like I can choose to have just one wine for a light buzz. With edibles, I feel like I can only ever hit full-on wasted.

I disagree. Whenever I shop for lolita, I’m running numbers in my head. Comparing prices, looking up how much the dress sold for in the past. Not to mention interpreting a foreign language. In contrast, reading is easy for me and I read a lot of junk food webnovels where I just turn my brain off. I’m following the story, but am choosing to not think critically about it (because hobbies can just be about relaxing sometimes). Being mentally engaged is a choice. Saying online shopping is mindless and therefore not a valid hobby is wrong on both counts. Maybe it is for you, because you choose to turn your brain off when you shop, but that doesn’t apply to everyone.

It's something that you keep up with in your free time. I don't mean to say that it consumes your life, but to be a lolita is to buy and in order to buy those hard to find dresses, some work is put in to acquiring them. Isn't that the case? I really want to get some sewing done but now that my boyfriend is working from home all day I can barely do anything. His own desk in his study is “too messy” so he’s using our dining table instead and has it covered in papers that I’m not allowed to touch, even when he’s not working. I have no other large surface to draft patterns or cut fabric on. He also doesn’t want me to use my sewing machines because of the noise. I’ve done everything I can think of that doesn’t require a large surface or a noisy machine but now I’m stuck sitting on the couch, playing Animal Crossing and feeling frustrated while my feed is full of people raving about how productive they’re being. At least I’ve managed to design some cute custom coords to wear in-game.

My state has mentioned they are trying to reserve the tests for the very ill. I never felt all that bad, but had some odd chest tightness and shortness of breath plus some mild but annoying GI tract issues, my cough wasn't that bad. I had the flu a few months ago and felt miserable. This was nearly under the radar until the lung issues came up. It was the oddest thing.

I still have some shortness of breath but only if I'm moving around and doing a lot. I tried tidying up and felt a little winded doing that. But it's better than a few weeks ago when just making lunch had me out of breath, like I'd gained about 200lbs over the span of a few days. Now I just feel out of shape.

I had no intent on going out of my house until at least 14+ days passed since the last symptoms.

My doctor didn't recommend a test because it seemed to be very mild. It sucks that we don't have enough tests because I would like to know if I did have it. But at the same time, I don't really want to have my brain probed with a cotton swab.

>>10360956
The last I felt actual symptoms was March 15th, I started feeling off on March 9th. But I can trace some stuff back a week further. Sadly, I was out and doing things during that time because I wasn't aware I could be sick. I started staying indoors once the chest tightness came on. But It's likely I could've infected other people unknowingly. At least everyone I know I was around during that time is fine. A few friends I'd been with had similar but milder symptoms appear at the same time. Maybe we all caught it around the same time?

Thirdly tell him you are going crazy and you need to do something creative like sewing. communicate your needs taking into account his (if he is working from home he might need some quiet time) find a time that you could make nose .
Lastly at the times you canot use the sewing machine try to tackle some hand sewing projects, its fun and you can do it while watching tv since its usually a low concentration thing. But if you keep feeling negatively about him >>10361074

Movies are a good way to spend quarantine time and I've been craving a (historical) film with really lush and intricate costumes or clothes.
