There are foreign tourists with zero English skills willing to go to Disneyland in Anaheim and Disney World in Orlando. Is America really that difficult to travel? It basically would never make it to any real court hearing ever. You could file a complaint show up in court, and get it thrown out but you would need a damn good lawyer.

First, you would need to show that there was no way for said person to leave the facilities, to access water, or other basic needs.
Secondly, AX staff was/does hand out water bottles though they go quickly, others sell water and facilities are open to use should you need them in an emergency.
Third, no one forced him to stand in line to get into a convention that is all day, they chose to stand in tempatures and climates for longer hours than normally advised and collapsed.

The burden of proof to show fault of the party accused is up to the accuser, people on this board constantly forget this simple fact. You can't use the "well I paid to get in so I was a paid customer and blah blah long line", convention was all day you had time to do all the necessary prep for it but you didn't factor in the weather. Now if this was a mass issue where like 1 out of 3 people were dropping and staff did nothing while blocking exits, big ooops.

It's the best hotel for AX. Pretty much always sells out first in the hotel block because it has the biggest rooms, breakfast included, doesn't have much commotion in the lobby compared to the JW, and it's only a block away from the LACC and right across the street from LA Live.

Anyone going "ACC is closer to Disneyland which is good for the guests" has forgotten one thing: the guests aren't driving themselves. They can uber or have a lackey drive which means the guests can veg out or sleep during the ride. It's cheap as fuck when it comes down to it. Management just books them rooms near Disney if they want a short return trip (and at night not like it matters since you can haul ass when no one is on the road). If they're going they're going on a day that isn't the con so they don't have to deal with scheduling bullshit too.

AA I spend maybe $40 at most (no prints, just specific things). if you go for a lot of items from the exhibit hall you could get up that high but there are very few things that I buy at a con. has to be AX exclusive or you can find it online for cheaper 90% of the time. Think I spent $100 in the hall last year.

Concerts are variable and depend on who AX gets. If it's an act I like I might spring for VIP which means $120-150. if not then $60, or I skip it completely.

I go to con solo all the time because my friends are not into convention/cosplay (even the weeb ones). Been to DragonCon, AWA, NYCC alone. Made a lot of friends through meetup, party and drinking at the bars. Is it easy to do the same at AX?
I usually get an Airbnb and then Uber to the party hotel but seems like a lot of hotel is doing wristband/key check during AX. I'm going alone so I want to prepare for all the scenarios.

Depends what you mean but sorta? It's the biggest name out there, biggest attendance(excluding PAX/CC shit), and draws the biggest names often.

Is it the best? Fuck no, AX is a fucking shitfest that people go to because it's "what everyone else is doing", I'd rather go to ALA, Sakura-con, and AWA, or some shit by miles. If you don't live in the LA area, you're going to be looking at dropping around 1k USD for transportation/room/food/etc at minimum. This con has a lot of positives, often good performing bands, exclusive VA's that you would not see unless you went to japan, and some really high end cosplay/vendor goods/performances.

The biggest issue is that a midsized or smaller cons are so stupidly less expensive since not july 4th weekend, and not in downtown LA. This con cosplay and attendence is also a shit fest as everyone is trying to get somewhere else. I'd gladly take AWA where I can chill with people in the lobby and talk to people about shit rather than the stuff at AX where it's so busy.

I'm not going this year because I could realistically afford a 7-10 day trip to Japan for the cost of this AX, I'll only go if one of my friends is selling floor space for cheap and maybe if I can get a cheap badge.
