Honestly, i find that pretty much all brands are too short on me. Recently I've gotten into the habit of wearing peaking bloomers as they cover up a bit more of my thighs as I'm personally not a fan of underskirts.

Underskirts can help lengthen pieces that might be too short, but you still want to wear the print. Underskirts were hyped a ton back in 2015, but now they seemed to be forgotten. Underskirts can be executed correctly by the length of the skirt and location of pettis.

Pic related. Sorry that I have to post "Funk The Tranny".

I'm only 5'5 but have a super long torso compared to my overall height. For sleeves I need a minimum sleeve length of 62cm, preferably longer. I find that Boz blouses fit me better than even Western brand blouses. I usually go for the men's size for that bit of extra length and comfort on the shoulders.

In general though, I've found that IW, when they do long bodice cuts, fit me perfectly. The waists on the normal bodice lengths end up hitting me on my ribcage. I also favour their long length skirts.
Boz also fits me very well.
For worst fit, out of the brands I own, AatP is the worst fit by far.

I'm not tall but I have proportionately long legs (to give you an idea, they're as long as my husband's who has short legs for his height but is 6'0).

Socks are usually my issue. I've found that IW and Meta both have great lengths. Baby and AP tend to be short, often naturally falling (ie without a bunch of yanking) at the middle of my knee or even slightly below when they're intended to be OTKs.

>> No.10324220

Oh yeah socks are such a struggle! Pretty much all otks are utks on me and brand tights tend to not be long enough, so i stick with normie tights in long lengths

Ok, but I'm a 7-7.5 and wear 23.5-24, and I wear AP/Baby shoes and have worn both M and L. The large, which is 24.5, comfortably fits an 8. Your toes shouldn't touch the top of the toe box.

People stuff themselves into things that don't fit them all the time. Size 10 "fitting" into an LL means nothing. Why else do people complain about lolita being uncomfortable to wear.

>>10324181
That's probably it. I was just wondering why someone only an inch taller than me would have completely different fit issues.

Measure your shoulder width. Sometimes brands have measurements above 36cm. The standard is ~34cm.

IW has narrower shoulders, and AP/Meta have the biggest. Have you tried the large blouses from IW?

>>10324202
IW has long torsos compared to other brands, especially the flat tube to the waist bodices.

>> No.10324245

>>10324222
Yup it's one of the reasons I like them as a brand. I love their very simple pieces in black, which work well for mature gothic looks. Their bodice cuts work well for me as I'm not very busty. Sadly I find most of their blouses have too short sleeves for my liking.

I have long arms and I find Alice and the Pirates are the only brand with sleeves that reach my hands, though I don’t have any recent releases. The problem with underskirts is they don't do much if it's the waist that's too high. Could work (to a limit) if you're flat, but girls who aren't would generally do better looking for something low-waisted and then combine it with an underskirt. The underskirt alone isn't a universal solution, which was why people quite hyping them actually.

Additionally you'd want to be careful combining them, the other reason they quit being hyped is because girls wore poofy AP skirts with built-in petticoats over a less poofy underskirt, giving a rocket silhoutte to the skirt.

>> No.10324611

>>10324150
LLs from baby/aatp are comfiest imo. I have a couple LLs from IW but they are on the snug side. It could be because they are older shoes however.

IW in general has been my favorite for accommodating my height and long torso. I use an underskirt with their short dresses that don't have lace trims to add that bit of length.
Their blouses are pretty good for sleeve length and shoulder width for me, especially compared to other brands. OTKs are also very stretchy and comfortable.

Im 5’7, I'm quite skinny but I have relative broad shoulders and a long torso and long spaghetti arms. Iusually hear people talking about how MM is not tall people friendy, but it varies from my experience. If you are thin enough to fit their bust and waist measurements, their just waist JSK cuts will be perfect. I usually combine their JSK's with IW underskirts to add 2-3 cm to length. Just refrain from their higher waist cuts or the OP's and you will be fine.

Regarding coats, I usually have the issue that the waist is too large, but the shoulders are too snug and the sleeves too short. I've recently bought this pic related coat and was surprised how perfectly it fits with enough room to spare to move my arms around even if I wear thick layered clothing underneath.

I'm 6ft tall and have done a lot of trial and error.
Meta & innocent world are the easiest to fit in general, especially anything from meta marked as medium length and anything from innocent world in the long or 108 cm length. I usually look for pieces with buttons on the straps so I can move the button, or add a little elastic extender in. More recent non-print pieces from AP have been really good. Baby and AaTP rarely have adjustable straps and their bodice and skirt style/length are much more variable so they can be hit or miss.
Innocent world underskirts are great with innocent world dresses but they're mostly the wrong shape for anything else (they don't have room for poof near the waistline). Victorian Maiden bustle underskirts work great with AP dresses in terms of shape, and they're not as long so they don't create as awkward of appearance. On AP dresses with half-shirring (no zipper) its possible to put the underskirt in between the dress and the lining + built in petti, other wise sometimes I remove the tulle.

I disagree with your rankings- I'm 5'9 and mostly leg and AATP can be hit or miss. The diamond OTKs are nice and long but lace tops not so much. Moi-Meme-Moitie has fantastic long OTKs, seriously the best for me except for that ONE new release they did. They even made a statement saying the corrected how short they were so I'd put MmM in god tier. JetJ is meh tier. Good if your legs are very thin but if not then more to the stumpy side.

170 cm here and I agree with where you've placed IW, Meta, and Baby/Meta. Abilletage is meh tier because their socks can stretch but then the print isn't as vibrant. AP is hit or miss depending on the release--safer for average or shorter lolitas.

I'm thinking of getting the Sleepy Sheep cardigan because the measurements are high, but I'm not sure if the cut will be all wrong. Is it an ouji shape that wouldn't work with lolita? Or if I fill it out it'll look fine?

>> No.10325226

>>10325211

For your average short lolita I would say so -- the cardi comes down to the hips so it'll squish the skirt. It really looks like a normie cardigan, so all the problems of wearing a normie cardi with lolita probably apply here.

For a tall girl/someone with long torso, it depends on how tall/long you are, whether the end of the cardi still hits you at your hips or it hits you at your waist. I'm gonna say it's an iffy gamble, though. Seems like it'd be a double headache dealing with dresses with short bodices while also trying to match them with a cardigan with longer bodice.

Innocent world fits and goes over my knees 100% of the time.

Meta fits 100% of the time but they tend to slip down while walking.
Baby/AaTP mostly sit right at the knee on me with a few exceptions that are longer.
AP either sit awkwardly right at the knee or are super stretchy and comfy, about 75/25. Not about how old or recent the design either, marionette girl otk are super long on me and princess dot won't go past the knee.

I am 5’10 and plus-sized. Most brands still work for me, but I do prefer the more sturdy bodices from Baby and Meta. Lengthening the straps often does the trick and if it doesn’t there is always underskirts. I have been able to fit most brand tights as well, I own mostly AP tights. I prefer them over OTKs, as OTKs tend to roll down to the point they become UTKs and pulling them up in public every time is a bit...
Also Enchantlic Enchantilly their corset belt has been a life saver for lowering the waist of dresses and making skirts look more pretty. I only wish more classic and sweet brands would release items like this, as the one I have now is more for gothic.

Have you tried using sock glue anon? All socks will roll down if not glued up, no matter if they fit or not. Would recommend this one, its the bomb and leaves no trace on your socks or other clothing after washing. As long as you don't pick at your socks during the day this will make them stay flat and pretty.

Pretty much. I have them attached to the shoe though, or they would get wonky. I figured the fastening concept from the Vivienne Westwood/Melissa RHS would work for plain pumps too.

For the loop did you just use thread or elastic. I would love to try this on a pair of pumps I have.

Elastic. I was lucky, the hoop was already there upon purchase to keep the pair together with a rope (so the right and left shoe wouldn't get separated) VWs have this solution instead. Might be doable with some glue and a trim of the same ribbon you intend to use for your ankles.

nayrt, i like this idea but if you glue the loop instead of stitching one in make sure you use a glue that will hold up to heat and humidity. Regular hot glue won't work for this.

So, I combined all posts so far and these are the results. IW and Meta seem to be the winners.

Blouses:
>Meta, followed by IW, AP, AatP, BoZ (men‘s size)

Cardigans:
>AP, Ank Rouge

Dresses:
>Meta, IW (long torso), Baby is okay

Shoes:
>DIY

Skirts:
>Baby, IW, Meta

Socks:
>IW, Meta, followed by ETC

Tights:
>AP

Underskirts:
>IW (only great with IW dresses), VM bustle underskirts (great with AP dresses)

And what pettis do you usually wear?

I really wanted to get MMM OTKs but I guess this is a bad idea. I’m 5’10 but am not one of those girls with super long and skinny legs, although I don’t even work out much I’m „blessed“ with incredibly huge and muscular calves, so that really is a big issue. Does anybody know anything that looks similar to MMM (black or white with lace at the top) and might fit me?

I feel like they're better for photos than actual wear. Their RHS run ridiculously big. I've also had straps/bows coming off and heels bent in the wrong angle, and I'm not particularly heavy. Had a pair of sandals from them that I absolutely loved, but they fell apart after maybe 5 outings.

Shoe ribbon anon here. You're probably right - I tend to wear solid pieces in a classic/sweet way, not really full on sweet. So I can't vouch for how they'd look with a cutesy print and OTT accessories. If I wear something more traditionally sweet with dressed up normie shoes I'll keep you posted. I feel like it's hard to get shoes that transcends the sweet/classic/gothic border in general.

Somebody is selling this, I looked it up and wunderwelt once listed the same one as being 113 cm long. Has anybody experience with dresses like this, how long would it be on somebody who's tall? I find mid calf length to be so unflattering

>> No.10342483

I have a couple dresses about that length as a shorty and would caution you that the bodice is meant for average height girls even though the length is long. You should look for long plus drop waist, IW might have something

Nayrt but I have similar ribbon shoes which stay in place fine because the ribbon is held up by the bony "bump" each side of the ankle and then is just wrapped back around to tie in front. Obviously if you walk around a lot the ribbons will move and not look so perfectly arranged/even, but they don't really slide down.

I have 25cm feet as well and I own baby, meta and ap. I tend to go with brand size listing as sometimes the L can fit if you’re not wide footed but LL will fit fine. Just note LL tends to sell out fast as it is popular size in the west.

They also make buttonable strap extenders; you can buy ones that match your dress and dress them up to look cute or just make your own. Halters and racerbacks can also be damaging for your shoulder muscles sometimes, especially if you have large/heavy breasts which many tall women do.

>> No.10363368

I love the toned down Japanese fashion looks. Im pretty tall and a most Japanese clothing frankly won't fit. So I've been buying dresses from bonne chance, altering those if necessary (mainly lengthening straps, but I cant get anything that doesnt have shirring due to my ribcage being huge), and wearing specially made shirts for tall women underneath.
For what I like, im surprised I cant find it in my size since its pretty basic, (I like things like this >>10361182 ) but Im 6'2".
Maybe I'm just handling this in a stupid way, so if anyone knows where to get clothes like this to accommodate giants let me know where I can look.
