I woudlnt say that is true for VW. The melissa collab was very popular and not part of old school, and the corset top is very similar to bustiers Jetj does. Now the wing sandal was based on the traditional rhs shape but the temptation stuff wasnt, and I have seen some people with the pirate boots they have done. I have also seen their orb jewerly being used still, and sometimes the armour ring. Vw is more of a Japanese interest and CC has its own VW section that seems to be doing well.

The thing is that cheap af lolitas wont be spending 1k on some corset top that may fit into a lolita outfit. The "trend" of accommodating people who are not able to afford this stuff means that there will be less and less people looking at similar priced designer items to work with lolita.

You can find PDFs of the oldest ones if you google hard enough, and I think I uploaded volume one to archive.org a while ago, and I should get around to scanning some of my own lol

i've had good luck on japanese 2nd hand sites too. not like cc, they're too pricy, but you can get cheap cardigans and staple pieces all the time on mbok and fril.

So the general consensus is that an old school coord must consist of only old items, not just old looking ones, right? Is there some trick on how to spot old school stuff easier (or a keyword on what to search for in japanese)? Especially with blouses I have such hard time telling new and old ones apart, and always checking lolibrary, searching through dozens or hundreds of bad quality pictures of white blouses to see which year it's from is so tiresome. I wish people would add the proper name and release date when selling stuff...

Thanks! Most of the shoes I own and wear a ton with lolita are vintage Doc Marten Mary Jane and similar type shoes; so long as they're clean and cared for I don't mind secondhand shoes!

Could one make a proper old school coord with the hot topic jsk? Being an attempt at lolita from 2005 technically makes it old school and I think there's enough historical signifigance in the dress (from being many western girls' first exposure to lolita) to excuse the fact that it's not brand.
