The song was a special song made for this occasion. This was done in the first two months after the incident ended and I was going to make the song just as a memory of the event. I made the song and Air Dropped it. I felt so happy when the song started to do well. I thought it would have a good effect on people.

In the same way, I wrote the song because I wanted to play it. I wanted to play it for the first time on stage. When I was in my early twenties, I wanted to make the song. I wanted people to play it. I wrote the song for the last song of the album, and made it during that time.

I really should have gotten that Etrian Odyssey IV Super Arrange CD. Oh well.

Didn't really feel like I enjoyed this year too much.

Was torn between two groups of friends that made it difficult to hang out with either group, and like 50% of the time was spent looking for one of the groups.

Had my Camera with me but I didn't really ask for photos too much due to my retard social skills and being introverted.

Met up with someone briefly from /cgl/ that didnt seem all that thrilled to see me.

And missed 99% of the panels, with the last Pokemon panel being a borefest.

Overall it was a good concert, lots of excitement after GK went on, lots of collabs between the artists. One thing to note is that similar to AX, a lot of people were there jsut for love live, so energy kind of sucked in the beginning (I know that's just how a lot of idol fans are, but it's still rude). Biggest con is probably that the room was not suited for a concert, so they should probably move to a bigger one with better sound

I went to the official afterparty and stayed for about an hour. Thery did the Hatsune Miku waving flashlights thing and it was lame.

I get it though. It's an anime convention so they wanted to make it like your japanese animes but as an adult i found it kind of childish. The DJ telling people to change lights and for the most part, the main crowd was just waving flash lights. The DJ would be like, "Everybody change it to green! Change it to green!"

I just wasn't down with that and it was weird. I didn't feel like I was at a 21+ event with that going on. SBB has thrown great parties in the past, and even in that venue. But I feel like they were forced to do that to make it better fit with the convention theme.

I arrived to OWA shortly after midnight.

I don't want this to come off as too negative because I like both of these promotions and they throw great parties. I think next year I'm just going to go with OWA because that was way more wild and fun. And adult.

Games were there but they're usually there at these NYC anime parties but I don't really play them longer than maybe 15 minutes. It's not what I'm there for.

I did sort of the opposite. I stayed at OWA til 11 and headed to SBB afterwards. I already said most of the stuff here but SBB felt more like a club than OWA by far. And when I was at OS a good chunk of people weren't even dancing they were either sitting around chatting or playing vidya.

No, I've been to SBB and OWA plenty of times in the past, I'm local. We do our anime thing there. We sing Naruto OPs and mark out. We cosplay. But it's also an adult vibe. For the time I was at SBB it felt younger. But given that we were both the early at the parties we didn't like so much maybe they didn't cook until later?

Like I said, both promotions are great and I'm glad we have them in NEw York. The ire was getting a little stale. My only refuge were the goth parties and those seem to be dying out. I think the goths all migrated to Jersey bc I see a lot more happening there.

I could use some advice for next years con:
Are we able to just ghost our way in? Cuz security this year only checked like every other guys badge which is odd

That's an amazing typo. I meant to say the nightlife. Their used to be crazier nightlife events like TRASH! and NC-17. The promotor and DJ of those events sadly passed away. The scene's never been the same. There's also the warehouse raves in Brooklyn but I haven't gone to one recently. And as I mentioned the goth/fetish parties are my usual hangs.

I do have one of this Amazon UA uniforms, which I've mostly used for parties.

I don't think that the goal of wearing it is to go for effort as much as it is to just embrace the fandom. I would not expect anyone in a UA uniform with a basic wig to start posing for photos on the floor.

I mostly went for the Japanese guests, and I do have to say this year went a lot better than last year for sure.
- All Japanese autographs are done by lottery; none of this random Vofan/Kugirie/Yukana business where it's tied into a booth or online purchase
- Weighted lottery entries: if there's 10 guests each person entering the lottery has 10 points to allocate. If you're really into 1 guest you can throw all 10 points into them, which eliminates you entirely from the running for the other guests but gives you the maximum chance to get an autograph ticket for said guest
-Better line management - staff should have an idea how much room is in the Special Events or any smaller panel room and cut people off earlier, as well as better organizing the hordes of people who want to get into highly anticipated events like Tenki no Ko early

As far as speed dating is concerned, I’m afraid that won’t be happening at all. There’s too many risks involved that the owner and company do not want to get into if a situation happens. I mentioned this last year as well. More arcades can definitely be done as well as bringing in more game companies too. More coat checks could be done but realistically only about 1-2 more at best. Bigger meet ups are a plus. Any other suggestions people? I have a conference call with the company on Friday.

The crowd management for Lantis Matsuri was ridiculous, Javits staff kept giving different instructions to the VIP section and ultimately ended up just opening the doors and letting everyone shove their way in.

Might be outside the scope of the conversation at this point but I'd like to see the concerts either moved back to an outside venue or the line-up procedures clearly outlined before the day of the show. That was actually the only communications let down I had this year, no Crew or Javits people I talked to knew how it was going to work and it was never posted online other than 'Starting at 5:30'. Assigned seating wouldn't hurt either, takes the edge off lining up entirely.

That would help tons, I went with a friend and while on a line for a panel, this girl just started chatting us up, we all got along fairly well, just talked and joked for a good hour or so, I could tell she was excited to have someone to talk to, cause she would keep resparking the convo even if I didn't have much to say.

If she weren't with her parents I imagine she would've wanted to tag along for the rest of the day.

Part of the problem is that the Javits Center is undersized. Despite NYC being the largest city in the country, the Javits is only the 12th largest convention center. The only other places the artist alley could be placed are 3A or one of the first floor exhibition halls, and at the rate the con is growing, 3A will he needed for the commercial exhibitors next year.
