I can't speak for Paris, but in America the stores don't charge a direct one-to-one exchange rate price and it often costs more then buying from Japan. I don't know why, but I am assuming Paris might have done the same. Can't decide my feelings about this one. It does look taobao-ish plus inevitable crosses for Halloween/ gothic-themed piece. There are so many motifs they could use instead, like fleur de lis or chandelier, but they choose using crosses over and over. At another hand I like this almost monochromatic colorway, it looks interesting and fresh. Not a fan of trend for grey dresses, but I like it in this one.

Probably the former, I don’t see why anyone would have an issue with the very existence of lolita YT content.

Personally I dislike content creators who are clearly in it to be a Content Creator (i.e. for the e-fame) rather than because they enjoy creating and sharing their specific content. Think of those people who post here or on RC saying they want to create a YT channel but need other people to tell them what kind of videos to make. How can you want to make videos yet have no video ideas of your own? Answer: they don’t really care about making videos, they just want the prestige (or whatever) of being a lolita YTer. Channels like that are bound to be super boring.

I like event vlogs and wish there were more good ones out there, but at the same time I know that a lot of lolitas don’t like being filmed so it must be difficult to get a good impression of the whole event while avoiding getting many attendees on film.

Lolita YouTube content is definitely not received well. First of all it's a very niche interest so that limits your audience. Second, most of that audience probably instantly dislikes you from the beginning over some sort of jealousy. God forbid you are not perfectly cute or pretty. Then you have to earn their likes and eventual dislikes when you are a little too popular. Most of them do unboxing which are boring af and also 101 videos which actual lolitas dont care about.

I miss the time of blogs when people who actually knew a lot about the fashion and had a lot of interesting things to say. They didn't even need to post their face but their writing and coords and photos used would speak for themselves. People didn't feel the need to bash their looks and it was just a lot less intimidating while adding a lot of value to the community.

I have been in the fashion for a decade and I have a lot of things I'd love to share, diys, advanced tips, actually interesting observations and topics but I dont want to be in the cesspool of wannabe efameous lolitas, and also I know nobody will read any blogs these days.

I have no problem with Lolita YouTubers and would welcome more content, but I honestly feel like there's not a whole lot left to cover.
It's a very visual fashion and... not much else, which doesn't exactly leave a lot to talk about.
Everybody and their dog has done "tip" and "how-to" videos, at this point the pool is oversaturated and it only really applies to beginners. A seasoned Lolita has no use for such guides.
Same goes for GRWM and unboxings, this is a fashion subculture so it makes sense but there's SO MANY of them and a lot of lolitas who do them lack the charisma/equipment to make them mildly interesting.
One could talk about new releases, but, again, it would take somebody with charisma and who'd be able to talk about different substyles, since as it stands most people are sweet.
More event coverage would be great but a lot of people just vlog them so 80% of the video ends up being their face.
an untapped genre is DIYs, but nobody does them, most likely because they take actual effort.
Some of the discussion videos people have made have been interesting but even that's getting stale. "Oh wow, ANOTHER video about ddlg? Groundbreaking."
I appreciate some of the new ideas people have tried to bring in, like Jo's active Lolita, or Tyler's videos about old magazine snaps, but something like the latter is just not interesting and I'll admit I haven't watched a video of hers in months because of it. It's not their fault that it's boring, and them trying new ideas
at all shouldd be celebrated, but it kind of brings me back to the point of there just not being enough left to talk about when it comes to Lolita.
