>>10225433
The striped legwear is definitely not working, especially because there's no black anywhere else in the outfit. Plain white with some gold to tie in the stars on the hairclips would have been nice.

This is cool, I like the old school feeling with this dress. I can't tell what the color of the dress is, if it is indeed black, I'd advise using a photo editing app to darken it. I would also add frilly bloomers to shrink the zettai ryoiki. I like the shoes and socks, rhs would also be good to pick up that gold-ish color in the print. The chest area seems a little tight, this may be a case where a regular bra would work better than a binding type to give the boobs more definition. The chest area could use more decoration as well, maybe a nice, big golden crown necklace could be good and tie in the crowns on the skirt. Since the coord is a bit plain on its own, holding something like a bag of parasol would add a point of interest.

>> No.10226249

I like the choice of light pink blouse with this, it's very pretty. I think her hair could use a little finesse, I would use a round brush and hair drier to plump up her bangs more and curl just the ends of her hair (she might have done this but it fell out). I don't see a necklace, which would be a great opportunity to add a sailor moon element to this coord which would be cute with the usagi buns. A big VW orb necklace in silver would also be cool. I'd advise facing into the light source more but keeping her eyes on the camera. Maybe a touch more blush as well.

I think the concept is good but the proportions aren't quite right. It makes her torso look short, and it seems the skirt is too short now. Wa is difficult in that way. Somehow I think she needs to lengthen the waistline by wearing the skirt further down on the obi. I know her signature is the pale makeup but it doesn't work with the updo because her ears are a different color. She should take this a little more goth with some heavier jewelry like a fat cross necklace or some cross earrings, or something dangling down from the roses in her hair. She mentioned she's going to meet Mana in this so adding some MMM items wouldn't hurt. A canotier with the same cross lace as the skirt would be quite cohesive.

Shibuya at night

I recently met up with friends in Shibuya to do some shopping and afterwards eat nagashi somen together (those are the cold noodles that you have to catch from a cold water stream with your chopsticks!). After the noodles we wanted to get something sweet, so we decided to walk to Harajuku to try our luck there. On our way we had to cross the street and we passed these huge stairs. One of my friends thought it would be a really fun (edgy) photospot, so we all took some pictures. The quality is not great in the dark, but I like how oldschool-ish it came out

As someone who does own brand shoes, they are not worth the price and you are not getting a better product. There's only marginal design differences between replica shoes and the authentic. The materials and construction are the same. They're both made out of the same low-quality materials. Both are prone to chipping, cracking and peeling.

I've purchased some AP shoes (new with tag, in the box) that have cracked and peeled within an hour of wear: driving and walking into a building. The bows were also wonky. I have no choice but to remove the coating and repaint and they're made of canvas. You're basically purchasing Keds with a hard sole and an AP logo. On the other hand, my other pairs are fine. The old Secret Shop Tea Parties I bought as a newbie are still fine even though I've worn them for 8 years. This probably was a fluke or a change in temperature/humidity or something. Still, I have $25 normie brand shoes that are better constructed and won't go through this level of deterioration.

Brand shoes are a waste of money, to an extent, brand bags as well because of how sensitive they are and how badly they can deteriorate due to age/temperature. I'm all for supporting brands, but I'm likely never purchasing a brand shoe new again and will just buy them used or damaged to customize. For that reason, I don't care about shoe design replicas except if you plan on modeling and it's in poor taste to wear a replica to the brand events or stores (in which case go offbrand or original design if you don't own the brand's shoes).

I second the brand bag comment. I got a brand new Meta bag, took it out for a day, and the pleather is already peeling on it. If they're gonna hike up the price, at least try more durable materials that are worth the price? The design is cute, and it's hard to find cute normie bags, but I'd rather buy something that's quality and will last me a long time than buy a cheaply made beautiful piece that will last less than a day.

Have you tried removing the coating entirely and repainting? It may just be that the coating is bad and it'll just keep peeling off. In the case of my shoes, removing it down the the base was my only option. You'll also want to use a fabric medium in any paint or base coat so that it remains flexible.

>All I hear are excuses
Yes, my shoes that I purchased brand new, with the tag, with the box cracking and peeling in one hour of very light wear is an excuse.

If I'm paying $100+ on a pair of shoes, I expect them to last until they are worn out, not become destroyed and basically unusable as I purchased them after walking to my car and driving for 10 minutes.

When brands stop producing bottom of the barrel below costume-quality garbage, more people will support their shoes. Baby and IW in particular are notorious for awful shoe quality.

Meanwhile, I can go to any fast fashion store, purchase a pair of shoes made in India by some 12 year old starving child for pennies on the dollar and they will last longer and be better made.

Most brand shoes don't disclose upper materials used, even AP just says "enamel" in the materials description. Most brands use pleather or bonded/corrected leather which peels, discolors, and creases over time.

I would say almost all brand shoes are glued instead of stitched, and most high quality shoes are stitched. You can repair stitched constructions, but you can't repair them as easily or even at all.

Just stop sucking brand dick for a second and open your eyes. Most "burando" companies care mainly about the construction and quality of their dresses, which makes sense in a way. Accessories like shoes, jewelry, and bags are not a priority and it shows.

Lolita is still too niche to have companies focus solely on these items, and that's why these easy to manufacture but shit quality items exist.

This was the reason I couldn't get a pair of btssb shoes repaired. They were reglued twice and both times immediately fell apart again. I'd never buy a print replica but unless brands bring their standards up to what you'd expect for the price, I'm happy buying offbrand and knockoff generic lolita shoes.

NAYRT, I purchased 3 pairs of brand shoes over the years - 2 of them were Meta and the other one was Baby. Both Meta pairs fell apart, had platforms fall off and deform after a couple of wears and Baby straight up cracked instead of forming creases after a 15 minute walk outside. Guess whose $25 Bodyline and $50 Antaina shoes look brand new after several years of wear with regular upkeep? It doesn't matter what specific shoe it is, they're all made with the same materials and similar construction practices and are all prone to the same damage. What part of that don't you understand?

The reason the design replicas are popular, beyond the price point is that they are constantly in stock and constantly have a variety of colors as well as sizes. They're easy to access and if you need a specific color/style of shoe, you can order it and have it quickly. Original designs are best if you can find what you need in the style/color/size and I will go this route before buying a design replica.

I support brands and buy directly from them regularly, but I will not purchase shoes from them any longer.

No they aren't. There's varying degrees of quality in pleather, glues, etc. You assume all brands have the exact same supplier?

You're not paying for leather at the $100 price tag. I don't know what you expect.

If more people actually bought their shoes, complained when they received quality issues and requested larger sizes, brands would actually listen. Instead everyone buys replicas of the popular designs.
