They do look better than Bodyline's previous "yukata".

I'm still surprised they're selling costumes for under $4 each but they're going fast and all the good ones are in the under 90cm bust range.

I haven't touched Bodyline in a long time but noticed the OP pic and had to come check.
I have been taking interest in kimono fashion recently and was interested in something cheap and breezy to dip my toes into while not dying in the summer heat, a yukata would be a nice start.
I'm very curious about this now, I hope quality isn't total garbage.

Idk mang, you can get sets like these on ebay for significantly less. I've seen 2pc sets for ~$80 and three pieces for under $125.

I personally went the auction route, there's a handful of sellers on ebay that sell yukata really cheaply. I got two obi, two yukata, a lot of obijime, and two magic belt accessories for undder $70 USD. You have to be patient when searching though. There's also sellers like Ichiroya.

The patterns are really cute, tho hard to tell the quality without seeing worn pics.

Yeah I purchased it earlier this year right before it was low on stock. Really wish they would just add a "restock" section to their website so we didn't have to guess what had been restocked.
Can't always trust the pictures or links they include since there's been cases where other items have secretly been restocked.
I wish I could keep better track myself but it's hard to remember if a dress has previously been sold out unless I was interested in it personally.

It's fairly serious, yeah. We more or less hate the guts of the other half of the country. It's more or less a short hand for a big group of harshly opposing characteristics about you and the people around you. That's not even getting into the literal nazis popping up. Sometimes people just can't keep their mouths shut about it for a couple hours and once someone declares something everyone is more or less cattle-prodded into being For or Against and woe betide you if you don't have the majority in your group.
It would be nice if we could all enjoy dresses together but frankly lolita just doesn't have the power to stand up to the fighting.

Too many people assuming that if you aren't loudly ’for’ something then you are ’against’ it and if you are against it then you are against them personally too and against every other person similar so they need to strike back or more loudly ’educate’ everyone...to the point of if we weren't actually against them before, we probably are now...and so it goes. Plus if the food or weather is bad everyone is already on edge to start. I avoid summer meets except ILD or movie meets, honestly. Too much bad tempers and the overheated fatties are even more cranky.

I have it. The lace isn't very good but it's ok on black or blue because there's less contrast. I don't like it so much on red. It's heavy, which I like, a sturdy washable cotton blend. You need good strong poof or it looks deflated. The bow is shitty. One of Bodyline’s better dresses but it's still unlined. Definitely needs ironing and a very good petti to look nice. Lots of fatties wear it, which usually looks big and sloppy because of all the skirt ruffles but I've seen it styled well too.
For bodyline piece 5/5
Price/value 5/5
Compared to brand 3/5
I'd get it on sale.

I own the black one. Just as the other anons said, the material is quite heavy, but also very sturdy. Having xxl poof is a must to not make it look like a sad rag. I would even consider wearing it with a cage skirt to keep a nice full shape. The bow this dress comes with is nothing special.

The dress doesn't really have many details going on, but is a decent basis work with. Make sure you don't cheap out too much on everything else and you will be fine.

It's easy to feel that way due to the negative perception Bodyline sometimes has, moreso in the past when it was more of a costume shop than anything else.
The thing to remember is that just because something is inexpensive, or not as luxurious, it doesn't automatically make it bad. For me, I see it as "taking the stress off" of my brand pieces. Imagine wearing a simple sundress for a casual day out vs. an expensive and extravagant outfit for an event or evening out.
I enjoy having Bodyline pieces in my wardrobe because I means I can still wear lolita in places I wouldn't dare take my brand. So I can go for a walk in nature and lay down in the grass, I can eat food that might be staining, I can play with my pets or go to a cat cafe.

>> No.10229700

>>10229690
Thank you anon. I think the reason I feel a bit ashamed of it is because I'm so used to wearing my higher quality pieces, and I am also a daily lolita, and I have had brand ripped and damaged occasionally. But for some reason I feel weird about some of the details of bodyline pieces. The laces aren't always great but the construction of the dress is usually better than normie clothes. It still makes me feel kinda bad, and I don't really understand why. But I like the way you think about it! Thank you~

>> No.10229789

>>10229700
You might feel out of place in Bodyline, but to most normies, you're still going to look fancy and beautiful.

Of course Bodyline is not up to par on the little details, they needed to cut on costs somehow, but why worry about getting your nicer dresses dirty when a bodyline dress will do, that you can toss in the washing machine after and not worry about it?

I'm not a daily lolita, but I do try to wear it lots outside of meets. I don't have a very big closet or own a lot of brand, so bodyline lets me enjoy lolita without ruining my more prized pieces. Of course, I have a couple brand pieces I've worn down to hell and back because I just love them so much, but it's nice to have the flexibility.

You'll find a handful of anons that harp on bodyline like it was the devil, but I'm pretty sure they're a vocal minority, otherwise we wouldn't be able to carry on in peace in these threads without getting trolled. The majority of people don't care if you wear bodyline, and sometimes, when I get asked what dress I'm wearing, people are surprised when I answer that it's from there because they weren't expecting it to look that nice. If you really squint you'll notice crappier details but it kinda gets lost in the big picture if your coord is nice.

I felt weird for a while, a friend who is a self admitted brandwhore (not entirely serious) started harping on about how Bodyline was a waste of money etc and I really started to believe that for a while.

Bodyline was my stepping stone into lolita. It's weirdly sentimental for me, and I honestly regret selling a lot of perfectly fine and cute pieces just because I listened to someone talk bad about it. There were some pieces from them that I used to love but people decided they were ita magnets or would arbitrarily decide they were bad so I ended up selling them.

I've been picking up a few casual pieces from them now and wearing Lolita daily is so much less of a chore and fret. In reality, the quality overall is pretty okay and definitely good for the price if you buy in sale. My wardrobe is 99% brand but it's so nice to have something that I can definitely throw into the washing machine and that won't snag if I look at it the wrong way (hi AP).

It's lasted me almost a decade at this point, and it's still my only pair of bloomers that I wear every time I wear lolita.
They're a study, heavy material, including the lace. I can toss them in the washer and then just hang to dry without issue.
Instead of having elastic, you actually tighten them using the ribbon at the cuff of the leg. So if you find yourself irritated by elastic around your legs, it's a really nice feature.

It seems like with each big restock comes a large price-hike. It's happened with previous restocks of other items as well.
At the same time they are claiming that there's a pricing error for some items, and the JSKs are still listed as being in the sale section.

Does anyone know of any bodyline jsks or skirts that look decent with very low or no poof? I'm going to a concert in a few months that I think would be fun to wear lolita to but I have floor tickets so I don't think a petticoat would be a good idea and I don't want to wear brand to it either. Yes,

On a different note, I bought some of the new stuff in the sale (not sure if it was one sale, but that was my timing, lol). The sailor collar cutsew dress is a shirt if you're taller than 162cm (but a very cute and sturdy shirt, not really complaining) and like most cutsew things, fits bigger than the listed measurements. The cutsew with lace at the neckline is surprisingly nice for the price, also fits larger than listed.

Also, the new versions of shoes with S-2L sizing are smaller than advertised. I'm usually a 25, bought a L which was apparently a 25 and can barely squeeze my foot in.
