I haven't been able to find one for a bit so I made one.

I'd get rid of the wrist cuffs and change the shoes to red or black. If you wanted to change the bag, there's a super cute rabbit-hat bag on Lolita Wardrobe.

Does it make a difference that the buttons on the cuffs are gold card suits?
I did plan on black shoes I just forgot to put them in the image, the gold ones were just on the tights model. The edges of the cards in the print are gold trimmed and the cards are slightly off white, not perfect white.

Figured I’d ask since I’ve been struggling a little too, just recently picked this up and figuring out how I want to go about it. The only thing I’m solid on is doing a red blouse, but I’m not positive on what color shoe to go for. From Feels thread-
I let my 14 and 17 year old sisters-in-law use my Amazon Prime
I found the 4 items on the left in my wish list, which I know I didn't put there, so one of them, having seen me wear lolita often, is thinking about their babby's first coord.
On the right I've tweaked it and added some options.

Along those lines, while the purse makes it feel “special,” it might be smart to buy something like a gold heart purse that can be used in the future. I think it’s lovely and makes the look really shine, so it’s still a great choice. I’m just not sure how much use it will be for future outfits. I recently got aqua princess in this cut and color with the matching choker. Im absolutely in love with it, but I'd love to hear some ideas for how to coord it. tried to make a chocolate and cherries theme. Reasoning: hansel and gretel is a german folktale, what reminds me of germany? Ah yes, german black forest cake. This is very much shoe-horned in and vague, but I liked the fact that I needed to make my own accessories. Things photoshopped: cherries headband under the Musee Du Chocolat half bonnet, cherry brooch on the blouse, and finally the shoes will be hand-painted and i will attach a handmade bracelet onto them.

The dress is the Musee du Chocolat low waist JSK in brown by Angelic Pretty.

There's a bunch of colors in the print that you could experiment with. Ivory for sure, but also dark green and even that pop of color with the man's coat (not sure if it's more red, wine or orange-y). The plain bodice gives you options for layering over as well, like the blouse pictured. You could play with belts in ivory (to contrast) or in a detailed black (to add texture) or boleros/cardigans for cooler times of year. Gold could be nice for a more OTT look, and you can pick up on the motifs of letters, writing and flowers with accessories and/or tights.

Nayrt, but this is a very old-school coording style and it can look very elegant. You match blouse, purse, socks & shoes to the lace on your dress and your hair accessory to your dress. Modern coording, like how you described, looks different but not necessarily better. Also, matching blouse to legwear works 90% of the time and IS a good rule of thumb. Stuck on this. May be able to grab the matching headbow at least but so far I'm thinking lavender blouse, yellow cardigan, the toy parade socks by AP if they turn out to match once the dress arrives, and lavender tea parties. Sax vs mint can be a bitch and a half to match. I don't think adding all the pastel colours from the print to the coord sounds like a great idea unless you have (for example) socks or a hair accessory that has all of the colours in it - trying to do blocks of sax, pink, yellow and lavender in a single outfit is going to be very hard to balance.

I'm totally stuck here. Not sure what to do legwear wise, or which kind/color of shoes to wear. Would it be appropriate to use polka-dot tights, to match the cardigan?

I am also trying to decide between mint tea parties or some kind of brown oxford (or maybe something that's very classically styled with a small heel.)

Thanks in advance for any help!

>> No.10226390

>>10226163
honestly the bright mint cardigan seems really out of place next to the more muted colors of the dress, at least on my monitor. maybe it looks better in person but to me it clashes horribly.
i'd go for an oxford or another more classic styled shoe in a brown that matches the bag and the biscuits on the print. mint tea parties would be too sugary sweet and probably too different of a shade next to the print.

>> No.10226399

>>10225875
It's hard to get an idea of your coord without seeing pictures of it. A gothic OTT outfit will look very different to a classic or sweet or even ero coord. So I'm not sure what to tell you without seeing photos.

But if you're going for sweet, mismatched kneesocks are a dead meme, but they /can/ work. Just depends what your coord is like.

Thanks for your advice! I'm on that awkward edge where I'm too sweet to be classic but too into navy blue to ring the sweet bells.

I did lay out my coord to take a photo but I think I answered my own questions. The floordinate looks good. Without the mismatched sock meme it looks more balanced, and it's not like I have time to get more accessories before the tea party either way. Babby's first ott will do for now. In time I will probably have a blast when I revisit this coord for improvements.

Coord ideas for my new dress. Pictured with shoe option I already own, they are real leather and very comfy. I'm sweet trash, I don't 100% know how to do this classy stuff. Was thinking about an off white, 3 strand pear choker for necklace? I own off white IW wristcuffs, I just don't have a picture of them. Mostly unsure what to put on my legs or if these shoes are ok?

>> No.10227064

>>10226955

Add:
- white legwear, if you can't find something with pink/beige accents, look into getting lace tights
- white blouse and/or brown cardigan (doesn't need to match your shoes)
- brown handbag (doesn't need to match your shoes

As someone who does all 3 substyles, you can pretty much use the same process as you do with sweet and use them to coord anything else, really. It's not like AP doesn't have their share of white/ivory dresses and brown chocolate things. The colour balance is the more important thing, and that's universal across different styles.

re: going blouseless (since you didn't include one in this collage), I'd think really hard hard about it, maybe consider doing a trial run. A bonnet is usually stiff, formal and somewhat overdressed, even for lolita. So I'd go with dressing up the rest of the outfit, with a nice lacey blouse or a frilly, girly cardigan to match the bonnet to keep it consistent.

You need legwear for those shoes. Something about closed toe, the shape of the shoes, suggests that they look more "complete" if worn with socks.

A brown bag together with these brown shoes will echo off each other and make it look like they belong together on that outfit, if you're not happy with that you can also add a brown brooch, brown cardigan to further echo the colour. Just make sure the undertones aren't clashing, like don't put do a greyish brown with yellowish brown shoes.

>> No.10227066

>>10226163

This is cute for otome.

Do not match the tights to the cardigan, it really is loud. I'd advocate letting the loud cardigan be the one loud focus point and then everything else you add be less loud. If you're really stumped you could just go for white socks, but there's probably something with brown/blue stripes that you can find.

Then go with brown shoes. Some people might be able to pull off mint tea parties, brown shoes are certainly the safer option.

>> No.10227145

>>10227093

You're on the right track with the tights, but I'd just point out be careful with the little accent colours -- the purple/lavender is just popping enough that it might clash because the dress is very obviously red/pink accents with green rather than purple with beige.

The necklace will be lost with that neckline, either you layer it under the collar and no one can see it, or you layer it over and it sits funny while shifting around. If you're set on the necklace, go for a high/stand collar blouse, or go for a wide collar so that the pearl choker can be in full view.

The bag and shoes echo better if they perfectly match colours. Otherwise, throw on a few more brown things (like ditch the blouse and go for a brown cardi) so that the coord skews more towards "earth tone coord with white" rather than "white coord with two different brown", if that makes sense.

>> No.10239434

>>10238865

For Classic, the typical basic bitch fallback coord is ivory blouse with brown shoes.

So ivory blouse and legwear (I'd be careful about mixing white and ivory, make sure you can balance them if you do), with brown shoes, brown bag. For classic you can worry less about matching your browns/other colour. For hair accessory you could go back to a VM corsage, or get your own (high quality) flower headpiece that goes with the skirt, or use a brown or ivory ribbon. For jewellery, it's hard to go wrong with pearls (but make sure they aren't tiny or else they'll simply be lost amidst the frills).

Actually if you want to get creative I think a blush blouse would also go nicely. Alternatively, a coord with a navy bolero would also look nice. You could even do white blouse with navy shoes/bag/accessories (though it's higher contrast than ivory, so harder to pull off). A grey blouse that brings out the lace accented with either navy or lavender could also work.

There's a lot of ways you could coord a versatile skirt like this, but if you're really lost and need to build a wardrobe from scratch anyway, you'll at least be able to re-wear the ivory and brown things with other dresses as it's pretty much staple classic lolita so that's the better option.

I just am unsure what shirt, shoes and accessory combo would look good and be comfortable enough for a day event at Disney

This is exactly why she should pick it out herself and not you, dumbass. She knows what she feels comfortable in. You don't.

>size tall-medium
That's extremely vague. You need her actual measurements.

You left out that the girl is also tall and not-small (since she wears a medium, in Asian sizing that's ...not small).

And he's going to get her what looks like a salopette? Just coord it with a fire, that works best on that body type with that skirt type.

It's not like we're not answering because we don't get it. We get it. It's a hopeless case. He's even got a really low budget for an entire outfit, so he's not really even looking for jfash, rather he seems to be looking for ""special snowflake"" fashion, whichever way you advise him he'll probably end up buying something cheap and horrible off wish and then wonder why it looks so bad.

The other anon that suggested buying something the girl likes from her favorite brand, or something from an American store had it right: ditch the special snowflake idea and go with something that's actually sensible.

His girlfriend specifically said she wanted that dress, which was also left out. Around $200 isn't bad for an outfit with a base item already at all imo. Even for my lolita outfits since I own the base items already its just a matter of accessorizing and i can do that for around $200 give or take (get a blouse for $60, shoes for $40, wig for $50, matching accessories for $50) The dress is bonne chance, people use that site for otome all the time, though salopette is a weird option. I have met tall lolitas that swear by them though since the straps are adjustable and can work for any height.
I just think everyone's unnecessarily shitting on this guy imo, I'd kill to get a cord and tickets to go on a date, even if it wasn't perfect, because i could make adjustments myself.
Would you like me to post you my favorite coords with bonne chance? Perhaps it would help you get that stick out of your ass and realize it can be coorded well and youre just simply too much of a cunt to show youre capable.

I recently got this dress from a friend and I'm at a bit of a loss with it. I don't normally wear blue (I'm a red/black goth kind of person), so I'm kind of working from scratch. It's also missing the belt, which is minor. I thought it might make a nice undedress but it doesn't really match well with anything I own. If you don't want to add a whole new wardrobe, white works well with blue, black and red. Just white legwear and then black shoes and headbow/hat would be a pretty simple basic coord, you can also add a white high-necked blouse underneath the OP and/or a black belt to the outfit as well.

Then everything white that you used for that can be also be used to match your existing black/red wardrobe (assuming the styles don't clash too hard). At least you'd be able to reuse the items until you find the perfect item to layer over/with the blue OP.

If you want to go fancy then you can use a fancier headpiece (assuming you can find one in a matching blue), or add a white or grey lace overdress/peignoir, but some of these items might be harder to reuse with your goth red/black wardrobe.

Finding something that's going to match that purple outside of the set is going to be a pain. The easy option from there is just double down on the black. If you don't mind playing with three main colors, then a white blouse and otks that match the white of the ghosts would be fine too, then black shoes) headwear. Then uses jewelry to bring out the colors of the dress. That purple's going to be hard to match, so with this dress the best option is to play it safe.

I’m making my first coord so I just have secondhand cheap stuff from LM and my years of other jfash for now. I know my shoes are ita but I’m not going to get proper shoes until I move to Japan in a few months. I need to save as much luggage space as I can and I’m so spooked of buying shoes when they’re not in front of me anyway.

I’m mainly stuck on legwear. Is it a sin to wear regular thickness socks like the normie polka dots and pearl embellished ones? I really want to continue the mushroom theme onto the socks with the white dots. Eventually when I can buy shoes I want red Mary Jane teaparties or pumps to just wear with white frilly socks though.

Is embroidering my red beret to be like a fly agaric too much? Is the bodyline bolero too much? I have it but idk. Anything to this newbie is appreciated anons.

Hello gulls! Just looking to get some general opinions. I purchased an OP (bodyline L600) and was wondering what a good way to approach coordinating it would be. It’s relatively hot where I’m living, so I was thinking to wear a beret, cute loafers and frilled ankle socks.

I thought brown would be good for the shoes and hat, but I’m not sure for certain. Maybe a pair of wrist cuffs? I know playing it safe is boring but it feels like hell outside lol

Greetings from another layer of hell, anon. Honestly, boring can be forgiven when Satan's ridding piggyback. I think you direction is great, brown beret/wriftcuffs/shoes/purse, then ivory (or whatever color the dress is) socks and other light, floral accessories

I bought a Bodyline blouse (L581) on a whim during the sale and have no idea what kind of jsks to pair it with due to the neckline. A lot of what I own has a square neckline and thick straps so it overlaps over the frills and makes me look bulky??
I got it to go with skirts but it'll be nice to have more coord options.

Get a long sleeve grey blouse that matches the bat cookies! And if you can, grey tights with similar colours as details, finding those will be hard as fuck, but would look so good!

>> No.10267851

>>10267820
That blouse is primarily best with corset dresses like those made by Atelier Pierrot and Millefleurs, but could also work with other necklines (e.g. sweetheart) or lower necklines, where there's less overlap of the frills or only the straps overlap.

That sounds like a good idea thanks! I was thinking of doing 2 separate coords, one for halloween(which would be more old school) and one for the nightmare before xmas as I figured it would be way too much.

Gulls, I just got Whipped Jacquard in brown. It’s beautiful but all I can think of is Christmas gingerbread when I look at it. Everyone seems to pair it only with browns and creams. General suggestions? I think it would look nice with lavender or pink.

It really depends what else you're wearing with it, either pick up a colour or a theme (e.g. robotics as being tangentially related, or you can get keyboard/computer themed accessories)

I could use some help with my first coord. I hate the shoes but I put them there as reference, since I can't access Antaina/Taobao in general right now. Have no clue where to buy a decent wig (I'd prefer (possibly ringlet) curls but I guess these are rare nowadays?) or what kind of jewelry to wear.

Also what would look better with this, a blouse or a bolero?

>Bolero or blouse?
Depends on the weather, It's a OP so you'd get away without a blouse and if it's cold then a bolero would look nice. If you wanted to go old-school then a long puffy sleeved blouse would look awesome (Meta, BTSSB, Moitie and Atelier pierott do some in various materials).

>Wig?
Dreamholic wigs are good if you can't access Taobao. Wig in the picture is "Marchen" from their Storenvy and there's plenty of reviews about the different styles and colours.

I added a velvet cameo choker, nails and a matte rose lipstick as that's how I would style it.

I'm worried about that OP with that corset, the OP looks a bit grandma-kei comfy classic, but the corset is pretty goth/ero. have you thought of a black dress with more grey accessories instead? or if you wanna keep the dress then try a more dusty purple/mauve and ditch the corset

even with the white underskirt, that's a lot of black. It'll work, it just might be a bit boring. to change things up I'd maybe get legwear with white and black

I'd wear a waistcoat/vest with that type of dress, the vibe of the dress is clasic and the corset is more gothic and kinda in your face plus with the gathering starting from the bust it may look pretty odd.

Don’t try finding blues to match this unless you really want to struggle.
You are better off picking any pastel colors from the print and working with it
Quick collage and make use of the star/cloud motifs.

Start simple! Simple white tights or socks, sax shoes (tea parties, boots, whatever fits your style). Hair bow and wrist cuffs.

Or, if you want to get more complicated and spend a lot of time building your first coord, you could go for something like this, which is almost a capsule wardrobe. That way you have a lot of options and can easily expand into different coords just buy buying another main piece.

I can't tell but it looks like the dress also has some pink flowers on it, which you could coord with as well if you want to take your wardrobe in a softer direction. I just went with the trump cards because they're more obvious.

This dress is much more of a light beige (distinct from a cream) than the picture shows. So do I wear a white blouse or a cream? I'm afraid the cream will be be too much of a black/navy situation where you can't tell if you're going for one of the other. A cool white will compliment the blue roses, and then I was thinking beige or brown shoes. Any thoughts?

I'm looking for a similar blouse, it's a pretty simple design so must be easy but I can't seem to find any.
What I look for exactly is:
>black, square neck, short puff sleeves, preferably less frills on chest, chiffon fabric and cross straps are a plus but not a must

I DID IT I made the hat, found better shoes, and wore it all today. Thanks anons for your opinions. The hat wasn’t too much and I even got a compliment on it from a cashier. I also found a red cardigan with dots that looked way better than the green thing. It was just too small.
The dotted socks were sold out soon after I originally posted so I couldn’t grab them lol. I’ll bead the socks I got or run into a bigger dotted cardigan, whichever comes first.
